Thank you for the information…we will be visiting Sintra during our post cruise stay in Lisbon. If you have any dining suggestions for Lisbon that you enjoy my wife and I would be interested in.
Hi Jeff - that sounds exciting! What is your cruise route? We are finishing up another video for Sintra that should be out in a week or so, in which we give a suggested day trip itinerary. As for food, to be completely honest we did not spend a ton of time in the city center, as our day was filled with rainstorms and we spent the bulk of our time getting between the main sites (which was taking longer than normal). We talked to staff at the various attractions, and they said rain of that volume is extremely rare, so I'm sure you'll have a beautiful day! A couple of food spots that were on our radar were Casa Piriquita (most popular pastry shop in Sintra, famous for their Travesseiro pastry), Tascantiga (tapas place with nice outdoor terrace) and Alba Gelato (ice cream/gelato spot). We've also heard good things about Bacalhau na Vila (authentic local spot with fish-based tapas). Can't personally vouch for any of them, but those were the ones that kept coming up in our research and that looked great! Hopefully can at least get you started in finding something you and your wife will enjoy 😊
@@briansteph we are cruising the Canary Islands and finishing in Lisbon. Have you ever considered the Camino de Santiago… that was a lifetime experience my wife and I will never forget…. We both retired in 2018 and in total walked approximately 900km (550 miles). I enjoy watching young couples enjoy the world early in life.
Amazing, hope you both have a wonderful time on the cruise and in Lisbon! We have not considered the Camino de Santiago, but I have heard of that! Quite the pilgrimage, but certainly looks like an unforgettable pilgrimage. 550 miles - incredible! We are both active people, so I'm sure we would enjoy it...added to the bucket list. Congrats on the retirement! My parents will be there within the decade, and I'm excited to see them get to do more exploring together. We're trying to get as much in before we start our family, though we would also love to be parents that can provide international experiences for our kids one day as well!
Thanks again for all the great information you provided. Lisbon was amazing. We were fortunate to have beautiful weather and we got plenty of steps in.
