I found this video AFTER I went nordic skiing for the first time in 41 years. I was a glutz and fell, of course, and could not get up. Finally, some one cam ealong and helped me. I needed this video! Have now practiced in my apt. before venturing out again. THANKS
I went skiing for the very first-time last weekend. I felt like I took to it well except for standing after a fall. I wish I would've seen this video prior, thanks for the help.
Will totally try these methods. I haven't been taught in ski school any of these methods, so these will come in handy. Have been skiing for eight years. I hope these would help me. Thank you for the video.
Excellent. Thanks for this video. I'm grateful for the various methods shown here. After a fall on the slopes recently I needed to remove the uphill ski in order to stand. I hope to practice some of these methods soon.
The first method shown can be difficult if you are not flexible. Notice the skier can touch the ground with legs fully extended (0:26) which is not many people can do.
1:31 fell and landed like this once but the points of the skis were facing the inside rather then out and i couldnt get up and thought i broke my leg. Would not reccomend landing this way
Here’s how to actually get up: 1. Don’t be fat. 2. If you’re fat don’t be old. 3. If you’re old don’t be out of shape. 4. If you’re out of shape don’t be fat.
