Ever wonder how you can get your gamer kid outdoors? In this video, Ricky shows a great way to blend the world of fantasy gaming with real life. Welcome to the world of LARP. LARP is an acronym for live-action role-play. Gamers at one point in time or another will wish that they were inside the game they were playing. This is where LARP comes to play. Using a combination of imagination and foam combat weapons, we can create a fantasy world of our making. As a parent, I'm always seeking ways to get my kids outdoors. I saw a bunch of larpers out one time like 20 years ago and wanted to play Star Wars with them like we did in the early 80's. We used to beat each other up with sticks that we painted up.and called light sabers. It hurt just a little bit. I got a big scar on my face and was automatic Luke Skywalker for life which sucked.because he was a wuss.

Hahaha, there is actual star war themed larp out there. Maybe they need a Luke out there. Haha. Just kidding. This one is combat driven. Basically it’s a legit sport if u ask me. Some out there don’t really have real strikes, play pretend and have stories. Those ones are not for me. Lol.

@@ChallengingTheOutdoors they have one that "fights" up north in my parents town but they keep cancelling because of COVID. When I go up there I'm usually fishing though.
