In this video we look at another problem with the ASE Gold Beretta . More importantly we look at what we have to do to get our eyes level with the ground. Look at any good shooter and their eyes...after they have mounted the gun... will be parallel with the ground...and that's how they have to be if we want to shoot consistent good scores. Hope you enjoy the video...stay well...thanks for watching and Happy Shooting...Roger Pace

Hi Roger I start to shoot a few months ago and i’ve learn a lot with you great videos One thing that almost nobody talk is about the “holding point; where we look at the field waiting the clay You need to make a video about it, is very important Thank you and greatings from Portugal

Love the buzzer comment I agree that red locktite should be avoided unless you want to use a heat gun and heavy solvents. Blue is the way to go. Wine and an unloaded gun are an OK combo. Your teaching method is always enlightening. Thanks and keep up the good work. Cheers

Two Riders...love your work my friend and you obviously know about Loctite...it's worked well so far... and yes always an unloaded gun with wine...you know...it would be a hard choice whether I would prefer to give up wine or clay shooting...good on you and thanks !!!

I’d agree with the consensus of removing the lugs, cleaning them and then putting some loctite on them to see if that helps. When I had my 692, I had an issue with a screw in the fore-end constantly becoming loose which caused the fore-end itself to become loose and loctite didn’t even really help that for whatever reason, but I’d say it’s worth a try before sending it back to Beretta. As for keeping the eyes level with the ground, I couldn’t agree more. Easier said than done for most of us though (including myself) as I’m convinced that a good, consistent gun mount is the hardest part of the whole the game (for me at least). Great video as always. Happy shooting and be well

Lloyd Thank you for the info about the loctite..i chickened out a bit...the shop had three strengths of loctite the strongest one said that you would have to apply heat if you ever wanted to take it off thank you for your information...i am like you ...now altering my gun mount a little so that ny eyes will be level...the loctite i bought was a mid strength one...hopefully it will work...the gun is like me slowly aging and falling apart...thanks again and stay well !!!

It is hard to see from the video if your eyes were exactly level. It makes sense though that keeping your gun closer to your face will help. I imagine it helps also to eliminate cheek slap and when you need a follow up shot. You should test it a bit on the pattern plate though to see if you need to adjust the cheek piece. Well done on polishing that stock. I think it looks better than when it was new. Would love to see how you did it.

Hey Rodger ,The trouble with guns is you are basically standing to one side of it not behind it , so you have to alter the stock and your body position so as to look straight down the rib . That is why you have an adjustable stock , if you raise the comb it will allow you to keep the pad on the same place on your shoulder and you will have to straighten your head , then you can move the cheek piece left or right to get your eye looking straight down the rib effectively altering the cast .. You could also lift your right elbow higher which will move your head over and help lock the gun in place , or a little of both . Are you missing the same targets consistently , left , right or straight away ? Maybe that will tell you something . Just my thoughts on the subject .
@rogerpace9322
@rogerpace9322 3 года назад
Dunc...raising the comb did not straighten up my eyes...believe me i have tried it...I am not that concerned about my scores because I am only missing 1 or 2 targets each round...hopefully ill start to hit a few 25's as i get more used to the gun...it did not come up properly on the video ...but when i mount the gun higher and closer to my face it does level my eyes up...i.m going to mount that gun till my arms hurt ...but i'm going to get my eyes level...as always thanks and good talking to you.!!!

I would just try using a thread compound on those problem screws. Remove them, degrease, apply something like a Permatex threadlocker blue, and reinstall.

Mr. Pace. Remove this lugs but one by one, so you do not mix them. Clean threads, you can use acetone. Then apply red LockTite on thread of the lug and tighten it back. You can use blue LockTite but it is not strong enough. Red one will fix it for a long time. Should you want to remove it one day, just use solder tool to heat the lug with the tip of soldering tool and it will come loose easily.

Hey Roger, the stub pins can come loose over time, heat and force wears down the factory thread locker, remove clean with acetone and use blue loctite. Red loctite is designed for situations where you don't ever want to remove again so go blue

Hi Roger can’t figure out how leveling your eyes to the ground makes you shoot better. In my understanding your dominant eye basically pretty much is all that matters. once your dominant eye is in perfect line with the rib and the gun is level your on
@rogerpace9322

Edward...I tend to agree with you...but the common held belief is that if your head is not level the eye that is not aligned with the rib will take over !!!
