You once mentioned that playing at low volume with a distortion was like hearing flies buzzing around, if I recall. Somehow, you have transcended the annoyance with a pair of superb pedals. Since my custom Anderson amps have reverb tanks, all I have been using these days are your Angry Gorilla or your Sweet Elephant, followed by a Strymon Brig delay. Nothing but pure goodness! Many thanks from abroad, Marcus! ♫♪
I apologize for my limited World knowledge. I had never heard of you, until scrolling through RU-vid, and I ain't no spring chicken. Kudos to you on your highly appealing artistry. You know, you should keep at it. I think you're going to be very accomplished someday.
Great job, the title of your video has been something I have enjoyed over loud amps any day and once had four Roland micro cubes running at once it sounded huge. As for your homemade reverb pedal that’s awesome! I highly recommend the anasounds reverb pedal with all three spring reverb units. I have one and it’s amazing in front or in the fx loop totally transforms any amp into true spring reverb. Keep up the awesome work. Performance at the beginning was well played!
Marcus. Was ist los, Sir?.. I agree.. I could gig with the pedals you mention, but I also need my Eventide Micropitch in the loop for fun! Otherwise, just a little delay and reverb and coffee (Strong) and I'm off to the races.. How's the weather in Germany? I'm thinking of visiting Darmstadt in Hesse. My friends live there! I hope you're well my friend and by the way you have a very cool style of playing sir. Very cool. Be well, be safe and thank you for the videos kind sir. Regards from the heartland. South Central Indiana. USA Tim.
Love your stuff Marcus. Really helpful. Like all of the other comments say.... inspirational, educational, toneful and dynamic. But most of all tasteful and musically articulate. Soooo godd. Cheers Neil (AUstralia)
Great song and great playjng. Great writing more than anything I think. !!! Some of that lead reminded of Pink Floyd in a way. ❤ Very Cool Marcus. Fir some reasin I dint get yiur notifications and Im not sure why. As of kately at least and its frustrating. ❤
Sehr geil! Das Set Up klingt fantastisch. Super Dynamik ...
My wonderful pedal is the vintage Rochester factory MXR Commande Preamp. Works well in front of Marshalls in particular. However it's about as popular as a case of the Covids.
Thanks for the video! By the way Marcus, I love almost clean feedback sounds and wrote a few very cool octave riffs using an almost clean sound going into feedback BUT...the amp is almost unuseably loud; what would your take on dialling in such a sound, maybe by using certain pedals without getting too compressed?! THANK YOU!
Hello. What homemade tube reverb tank do you use exactly? What kit? Thanks for the video! Hallo. Welchen Reverb hast du gebaut? Wie heißt der Bausatz genau? Viele Grüße und DANKESCHÖN!
Thank you. The reverb is not a kit.We make pedals so maken the reverbwas no problem Der Hall ist kein Bausatz.
I just bought a Sweet Elephant but have not had it delivered yet (just ordered 2 days ago). How do the Angry Gorilla differ? Is it more an aggressive distortion? Is the Sweet Elephant more of an overdrive? Should I own BOTH? :)
Sehr viel Weisheit in dem Video - if you can´t get a great sound with 2-3 Pedals, it won´t work with a huge board!
I really admire your technical mastery and the greatness of your expression, feel and tone. But one thing - you shouldn't do videos like this being on drugs, dear brother Marcus. And second - being obsessively overdramatic all the time is - I'm sad to have to say so -just boring. Think of Gary Moore who always strived to be the best……… with all my love
