Braunschweiger works well, too. Make sure that it’s OK with your vet to give your dog braunschweiger. You will need three pieces of braunschweiger, one of which includes the pill wrapped inside. Use the smallest pieces you can get away with. Give the dog one piece so that he knows what he’s getting. Give him the second piece with the pill inside of it, but have the third piece ready to go (and where he can see it), and give him that immediately after that second piece containing the pill. Most dogs like braunschweiger so well, that they will take it readily. If he’s like my dogs, he’ll be anticipating getting that third piece while he’s inhaling the second piece, LOL! It’s also nice that the braunschweiger molds easily around the outside of a pill. I think Morrell brand is lower in sodium than some others. Braunschweiger is not as sticky as peanut butter, so dogs probably won’t leave the pill behind. Once they get used to getting their pills in the braunschweiger, you may only need to do the one piece.

My dog is 6.6 lbs. and is a very picky eater and never takes treats like that and won't eat anything while in pain. Unfortunately it doesn't help me at all.

Great idea however i have to hand my dog the pill and he always looks at the pill and smells it first.

My puppy is adamant that she will NOT take that pill and has gone under the bed! What next??
