I consider the “glitch” to be more of an anti-frustration measure than a cheat. “Save Scumming” is still - technically - a valid way to play a game. Besides, taking a cue from Mr Qi here, it’s clever if not exactly honorable.
I absolutely fought for this achievement. Didn't use resets and I'm very proud of it lol but my god concerned ape was such a troll for putting this in as an achievement.
Iirc, he put things like that into the game as a joke, not thinking that the game would get nearly as popular as it has gotten, and that maybe one or two people would do it “for the funny”.
I did something similar, you don't have to save scum the boss levels, if you lose a life to a boss, you can just quit then continue and it won't count the lost life, but I didn't quit out of stardew and I worked hard for it as well.
I wrote a guide on reddit about this specific “strategy” like literally 5 days after the 1.5 update came out. Sadly it didn’t get as much attention as this video (obviously, duh). Glad to see that more people will be able to get the achievement now!
Took me a whole month (maybe even more than a month) to get Fector's Challenge Achievement without the glitch! It was so tough that I still remember my body was weak due to happiness and relief when I got it! 😭🤣
Man. I wish I had known about this method back when I actually got this achievement. Every now and then I'll play some Prairie King, but Fector's Challenge has made me basically avoid this minigame in every new playthrough.
I have hundreds of hours in this game, perfection etc, but I've been stuck at 38/40 achievements for forever. Maybe I'll boot up Stardew again and go for this. Nic vid, thanks for the strategies!
Thank you so much for this! I never knew you could “pause” the game by pressing escape. I’ve been wanting to beat it for so long just so I can have the arcade cabinet in my house, wasn’t even too concerned about the achievement and I actually intend on getting it honorably at some point but for now my main goal is just to finally be able to beat the game and if this is a feature built into the game then I don’t think it’s really cheating as much as it is just being sorta cheap in getting the victory but hey I’ll take whatever help I can get because man I can’t even get to the first boss 😅
Glad my tip is more known, maybe this would increase the percentage. A youtuber I follow did with this strat and every time i see the oportunity I share it
Honestly? I don't give a damn if other achievement hunters think I'm "not honorable" or I "cheat". I'm a hobbyist, not a diehard. Lol. If it works, it's valid. Thankyou SO much for this guide, I was wondering how to do the "glitch" (more like a sanity preserver. I'VE TRIED DOING IT LEGIT OKAY, IT HURTS) and where I first heard about it didn't go into enough detail. (I love your voice by the way, it's very relaxing and soothing.)
Thank you for this! I have no moral problem glitching the game within the game. I can use the excuse that my character is familiar with this old arcade machine and just knows how to work it. 😆
I just found out that Abigail is INFACT Pierre's daughter, please hear me out. Secret notes #1 and #24 explain why Abigail has purple hair, #1 is the page from her diary and it says that she keeps a amethyst under her pillow, and #24 is from M. Jasper (i love him) talks about how gems affect the junimos. So the theory that Abigail is the wizards daughter may be false. I could explain more though it would be wordy, but it could be an idea for a video.
And the appearance of the wizard doesn't even matter, or why on earth would he have a shrine that changes looks? Who knows he could be your father who came to Pelican town to get milk
I’d love to hear more about this! I always thought Abigail might just have dyed her hair permanently, but idk. Please, I’d absolutely love to learn about how Pierre is really her dad.
@@sweedra7899 Pierre once asked for a diamond in the notice board telling that he wants to keep it under his pillow ( I only saw this once and i regret for not taking a screenshot), so that shows the tradition of keeping a gem under their pillow in their family. Now if the question was Who is the family of the wizard, then my answer would be the player or Emily. In the grandpa cutscene, we get to see a junimo and a sign of the vessel meaning your grandpa was into magic, and the wizard could be your uncle and Emily his daughter is full of magic and stuff and also says that your fate and hers is somehow connected or so in the 2 heart event meaning she could be your sister. But i want to throw this theory in the garbage cause that would mean Haley is your cousin
I nominate your video for the title of "Most valuable content created on RU-vid 2022"! Thanks you very much young lady. Also, you can even go further and use this technique to maximize your coins. Just collect them and leave the game while in the same round.
I love your videos!!! You content, gameplay and tips are great!!!! Your voice is very pleasant as well, very easy in my ears…sorry to be weird, I have sensitive hearing and your videos are calming. And I absolutely can not beat either game in stardew
JOTPK has been wear👏ing👏me👏out👏... that is, until I found your amazing video. You just gained another subscriber! Your videos are phenomenal. Great content! 🙌
I cant believe that anyone did it without the glitch. I was happy to complete the first area without dying and saw there are 2 more. Without the glitch wouldnt be possible for me. The game is fun but if you want to go without dying its hell.
i got the achievement almost 3 years ago but still clicked this vid to see the trick the continue game wasnt a thing back then and i lost a few runs to accidently pressing esc it sucked i think it took me a week to do it was really brutal but one of my most memorable and proud achievements (note this was the most frustrated i ever was playing this game and i had to take breaks sometimes if you just want the achievement do the save after each round if you want the bragging rights just keep at it and youll get it in time)
@@ezlilyy I don't know if you already know this, but if you finish Slippery Slopes in under 60 seconds it skips straight to Ghastly Galleon. An easy way to do that is to take advantage of the slopes and jump afterwards to be able to go farther faster since the speed boost also makes jumps longer. Sorry if you already knew this, but I wanted to share in case you didn't.
i just logged onto stardew valley for the first time in a few months and beat fectors challenge 2nd try, i thought it was no item udgrades as well which is why i havent done it before just now
Did not know you could do this and did it without 😭(took 2 months of my life up last year) but had I known would of done this. Beating that game without dying is one of the hardest achievements I’ve ever done.
I did it the same way exept I didn´t went fully for coins, I finished at the end anyways but sadly I only took a Wellshot for the final boss and that took some time to get xD I´m just so glad they changed it so you can savescum it but honestly, it was a needed change
fector, even without powerups, is an absolute pushover. it's not just the opener that has finite attack directions. the cartwheel also comes to mind, and really, when there is a pattern with infinite directions, they're usually short and easy to dodge, besides the varying bullet speeds. a try or two should get you through. the monster spawns are also practically meaningless since they're so easy to dispatch.
I'm currently doing that achievment. And my biggest problem is to save a shot speed power up for the final boss because the last stage is so hard. Everything else I handle pretty well.
I played jotpk religiously on switch. On my first attempt of the challenge I got to 3-4 without getting hit. In tandem with the final boss strategy I may just beat it
there is a small spot in both of the cowboy bosses where you can have part of his hitbox outside the wall thus making so you can shoot him but he cant shoot you
I believe he added it because it was impossible to complete the arcade game in multiplayer, because time would not pause and you would pass out by the time you reach the 3rd Zone
Every guide says the upgrades are permanent. I thought that meant they carry over even if you game over. Itd be nice if anyone would actually specify that it only stays "permanent" for that run. I thought i could farm a few runs to buy the upgrades and breeze through it easier, didnt know it was going to reset each new game
I will have to buy myself a new keyboard, since i am left handed and it is even more hard for me to play this. I would love to see one day "switched controls" for the arcade game. It would be quite helpful.
My only problem with Journey Of The Prairie King is that I use a cheap office keyboard, so there are certain key combinations that I cannot use, like I can't shoot down right and move, at all
I've used cheap office boards myself, and they tend to have okay rollover across any two keys pressed. add a third, and you're in trouble. tbh a brief release of move keys just to shoot down right can not only be very quick, but also p much eliminate the downside by ticking between moving and shooting.
You guys think this is hard now? How about back when coins & powerups would get stuck in the enemy spawn area and wouldn't auto eject themselves like they do now. You will never know the pain of accidently killing an enemy in their spawn area and seeing a juicy 5 coin taunting you while being entirely unreachable.
@@medsm3113 yes in the end it did, for some reason when I did it neither of the achivments popped and I was pissed lol. So I went onto the Xbox dashboard and looked at the Stardew Valley achivments and that's when they both came up
This is no more a glitch than resetting the day if you accidentally blow up your crops on your farm. A glitch would be if you're able to make yourself permanently immune to damage, for example. Like yeah it's a useful tactic but it's not a glitch.
i watched this video when it came out and thought "huh, playing through it normally was pretty hard, i think i'll try it when i get motivated playing stardew valley again" today was the day i got motivated and i thought "fuck this glitch, i'm doing it the cool way" and i did it took about 4 1/2 hours but who cares i love journey of the prairie king
There's another problem: Apparently, most if not all non-gamer keyboards have a key combination hardware glitch that comes with every single one. Pressing certain arrow keys together will nullify another key's activation. For example, I can't make up and right work in tandem with the a or d keys on my keyboard. I had a similar problem with my old keyboard and a hardware associate told me that all standard keyboards have this problem, though not every keyboard has the same inexecutable combo. This makes it impossible to run and gun in every single possible direction and aim combination in this game.
Maybe this achievement on mobile IS impossible. well. I did beat junimo kart progress mode third times.. But the JOTPK seems really hard Btw the speed up really goes crazy when you at the "Red Hot RollerCoaster" Or "Glowshroom Grotto" (THE MOST LEVEL I HATE IN THIS ARCADE GAME, well not actually the level.. But the obstacle.. "Mini Red Mushroom" 1 of them already hard to dodge, but.. What about.. 3 OF THEM?!. When the junimo kart about send me over to glowshroom grotto, imma bout leave junimo kart and start playing over again)
If ConcernedApe wanted to be Satan for this achievement, I'm not gonna give him much honor in claiming it. I save scummed it into my possession, and I'm proud!
