I had an epic failure with this, and yet you make it look SO easy. Do you remove glue when it needs to be redone? And if so, HOW and with WHAT? I was using speed sew, which the breeder recommended and unisolve adhesive remover. Again EPIC failure ~ help! Update: I see what you suggested below and the goo gone helped, but was still awful to get this off!! HELP!
Hey Rachel. Great video. We just tried this with our 10-week old sheltie, but we can't get him to sit still long enough to glue everything down. What's the trick to getting a sheltie to sit still?
Unless you’re going to show your dog, why would you do this? We’ve had Shelties in the family for more than 50 years. They were family members not show dogs. This is a waste of time IMO
Nope! Not gonna happen. It’s ridiculous. I love their big standing ears. It’s the cutest part about them. It seems very wrong to glue anything on any living being.
Not cruel!!! Beautiful sheltie who looks happy with that waggily tail. Gluing the ears is not cruel. I know many people and breeders with shelties who have gotten their ears glued. It doesn't hurt its noninvasive. Glued 3 of my own and OMG they were not traumatized in the least. Trained the ears for a short time and ended up with beautiful ears. Great video I needed a refresher course as I'm getting ready to glue my new puppies ears. 🐶
Why force a dogs ear to stay like that? Every sheltie I have ever seen have had to glue or tape the ears to stay this way. It’s cheating! If the breed can’t have ears that naturally stays that way, it isn’t meant to be! The dog is shaking and you are choking him with a tight leash. And several dogs have gotten infected ears by GLUING their skin. Poor dogs, selfish owners...
It doesn’t hurt the dog when done early in puppy stage. No bone on the upper part of ears. It’s not cheating; it’s not surgery; it’s not invasive. Puppy is not yelping in pain; he wants to play.
I know many sheltie people and breeders. This is not invasive it definitively doesn't hurt the dog and this puppy is on a groomers table attached to a leash which also doesn't hurt and if you noticed the puppy was wagging its tail which is a sign of a happy dog not a traumatized dog.
