Already did this to my bandit. Do not do it to the bandit. It’s a ton of fun, but it literally destroys itself, unless you have a stronger body, tires, and suspension, it’ll kill it. Make sure you get a wheelie bar for the bandit as well

When I tested the 1410 1Y 3'800-kv motor against the 2-pole vxl motor the 3'800-kv was 3mph faster running the same gearing. Running 300rpm more per kv is going to give you that extra bit of speed! And then then you should factor in the longer can on the 1Y motor, I'm pretty sure if you tested both motors. The 1410 1Y is going to have a little bit more torque than the vxl motor. Then again the 1Y motor is not a RTR production motor! And yeah its a little frustrating not being able to tune the Velineon esc!! And the Velineon vxl system does feel like it's a little over priced!!! When you compare it to the Castle Creations SCT SV-3 ESC 1410 1Y 3'800-kv system. Putting the 1Y motor with the Velineon esc turns it into a radical motor!!!!!

Out of the 17 Velineon vxl systems I've owned, I have only had one die! Because it didn't enter thermal shutdown!!! Knowing that the Velineon vxl system can push the Rusty up past 80+MPH is totally awesome for a rtr power system!!! ;)

dang traxxas is amazing i wish i could have a all wheel drive car though mine is a bandit with a brushless motor and speed control

Kinda wish I knew about ARRMA before I bought a traxxas, traxxas does make good cars.............but you need to waste 2 times more of what your rc cost on upgrades to make it decent

So why not Just have the Velineon as stock and have a mode on the controller for a speed button?...the 15T is useless after that!

You could also use a 5000mah lipo because it also fits!!!!!!!!!!!

I run the castle creations sidewinder sct, with the 1410 series 3800kv moter from castle. I generally run this setup with a 2 - 3 cell LIPO battery

I love how they are putting the not recommended gear ratio on lol

My only problem is the mounting of the ESC. Turn it 90 degrees and you can fully utilize the heat sink fins

I find the gear combo ironic because on the chart for the rustler, they say that combo isn't recommended

Tip for anyone 3 cell LiPo batteries are faster than 2 cell so if your are looking for speed the 3 cell 5000 mAh LiPo is good

I LOVE TRAXXAS !!! And after the coupon ban by Traxxas on Tower Hobbies, I have also seen Axial follow suit with the coupon ban. At least Traxxas lowered some of the prices. Axial not gonna happen !!! I still LOVE TRAXXAS !!! Just can't bring myself to buy them anymore... I will always love Traxxas !!! Because driving Traxxas rc everything makes me really happy !!!!! Just wanting to get a little bit more product for my hard earned money. And a Rusty will run 76MPH out of the box !!! Add Traxxas SCT tires and a 3S 5'000MAH 25C LiPo, gear it 35/76 and 82MPH is possible !!! NOTE: you can only make one pass down, and one pass back, before you have to cool it down. Just saying ;)

My buddy just bought a brand new brushless slash model and the motor is making grinding noises after only two days. He's not been abusive yet it died way before my old brushed slash. I assume this isn't typical? Anyway, HobbyTown told him he's SOL. Is this the sort of worry I should have if I upgrade my Slash?

I've installed the VXL-3s system and now my controller doesn't work. Old 2WD slash about 2-3 years. TQ model 6516, 6517. The steering wheel activates the acceleration and reverse, but the throttle trigger isn't recognized. How do I fix this? Your controller sync and ESC programming didn't work.

I got a Fiesta ST Rally car, would these mods work on there? Literally just bought a 3 cell LiPo (since the leaflets and stuff the box comes with showed one of them on there so I assumed it could work) and just realized the XL5 can only handle 9.6V and the motor 8.4V, so pretty bummed that it won't work
