Hi, what's the difference between the spark plugs you show here versus NGK IR GR9DI range? This was installed when I bought my Rotax Senior Max Evo Love the videos, always find myself coming back time and time again! 🏁😊
@nate1593
@nate1593 2 года назад
Just to update anyone who might want to know. Spoke to NGK and the customer service bloke stated that the only difference is that the versions shown in your video will allow the top cap to be unscrewed to reveal an M4 thread so that it can be screwed in other scenarios where that might be needed.
@PowerRepublic
@PowerRepublic 2 года назад
Hey Nath, great research. I wasn't sure on that one. I haven't used the new spark plugs that come with the ROtax that much, but really shouldn't be a huge game changer. thanks heaps for tuning in and sharing the videos

Take allen keys, spanners, sockets. Spark plug socket. Any bolt on the kart can come loose, so take every size on the kart req. Tyre removal tools if your racing may be needed. Go a few times before trying to compete, dont race on day 1. Practice going to a track, run the kart on practice days before so you understand what you need to do prepping. Maybe visit a race day to ask questions ect. Kart spares like spark plugs, water pump belts, fuel, water and oil, an air pump and pressure gauge also...

@christianbuczko1481
@christianbuczko1481 3 года назад
@@SprintKing76 no problem, i forgot to mention chain lube, as chains and sprokets wear down fast and are handy spares to carry too, watch every vid on this channel, and you will learn most things especially if you have a tonykart. Other types can be a little different but follow the same principals. And theres usually more specific vids on youtube for anything else. Its a very steep learning curve just to make them go without falling apart and you can learn alot at home before hand. Btw, 1st two times i took my kart to the track I didnt even get to drive it because i had a carb fault 1st time and engine reeds failed another time.

How can you explain how the hub size effects the kart and when to use what type of hub
@PowerRepublic
@PowerRepublic 3 года назад
hot and sticky (bogging feeling), go to short hubs. slippery and struggling for traction, go to bigger hubs. that is what works for me
@BLITZKRIEG1

my axle doesn't spin freely, someone said something to do with clutch but it doesn't really matter? it's a Rotax senior Evo.
@PowerRepublic
@PowerRepublic 3 года назад
yeah the O ring behind the clutch bearing can add some drag when the axle is spun on the stand

What would you say a basic setup for the rain in order to jack the rear up and stay up through most of the turn? I've watched a lot of videos from the UK and they all have a lot of jack in the rear and stays up through out most of the turn. In a heavy rain situation. Thank you.
@PowerRepublic
@PowerRepublic Год назад
I normally take of the seat stays, but maybe leave them on if you want to hold the Jack all the ways round the bend. And a harder axle instead of softer one should help too,

Tryb diffrent preasure on REAR WHEELS on wet i mean less air
@jamesvandenberk1646
@jamesvandenberk1646 Год назад
We recently did a wet test with 32psi in front and rear, and the kart had good turn but very unstable. So then we dd 32psi in the front, and 22psi in the rear - best wet kart I've ever had, I could brake and turn very aggressively and commit to curbs much easier. Softer rear tyres to mold to track, and stiff front tyres to force jacking is my theory. Hope this helps.

What's the change in axle do to the kart?
@marknewsonracing6671
@marknewsonracing6671 3 года назад
Generally speaking, changing to a soft axle will give you more rear grip, and going to a hard axle will get rid of rear grip. The impact is most noticeable from mid corner to exit. Start with a medium, that should work well in most conditions but try changing according to what the kart needs
@PowerRepublic
@PowerRepublic 3 года назад
when you change axle, it will make the kart stiffer (hard axle) or softer (soft axle). FYI - when we straighten bent axles at work, we can feel the resistance to bending change as we straighten the different grades, with the stiff axles being a real SOB to move, and the soft ones bending back easily. But what this does on the track is the Black art and it seems to vary depending on the type of tyres used at your track, ambient temperatures, driving style, brand of chassis and axle, track surface texture etc etc. My best recommendation is to get one softer and one harder than standard to start with, and experiment for yourself at your local track. once you have changed an axle a few times, you can get them in and out in about 20mins. this might change from summer to winter, so change them often with an open mind to feel the slight variations and then you will know for yourself when it is time for an axle change. Hope this helps. Derek
