Yay playing in the dirt today!!! Im so happy to get all the real time diggin! Thank you so much for the video! I could watch this allll day! Cant wait to see more playin in the dirt🙃
Have used a water level for many years, recently purchased a tone generator for it which saves a lot of time. Really enjoy your videos a mix of real time for interesting parts and timelapse for the repetitive stuf would be good
Wow. The class I'm currently enrolled in (Heavy Equipment Operation) just went over this method of grading. No offense, of course, but it was described as the "old" way of finding grade. Old or not, it still works. And it was cool to watch you do it as you worked. Really enjoyed watching this one! Appreciate the effort.
2ridered2 it’s definitely the “old way “ way of doing it. But very reliable. It’s also very cheap. I’m looking forward to using other forms of finding grade. I’ve never used a transit/laser level. It’ll be fun to make a video of my first users of one. Should prove to be very humorous to my viewers. Lol
@@DigginLife21 Don't pay much mind to what others think. At some point or another, we're all beginners at something. I'm about to make my first purchase of a laser level. My budget is $500-$1000. From what I've learned, my top picks are the Topcon RL-H5A rotary laser; Spectra LL500 with the CR600 Laser Receiver; and then the DeWalt DW074LR. Stanley "Dirt Monkey" Genadek did a DeWalt-sponsored video on the DeWalt Rotary Laser and gave it high marks...but what would you expect when DeWalt sponsored the video, right. Another brand would be the CST/berger - they seem popular.
@@DigginLife21 Hey Todd. I finally ended up going with the Topcon RL-H5A Rotary laser with the LS-1000 receiver. I also purchased a Seco 5402-13-ORG (Orange) tripod and 20' (I believe) AdirPro fiberglass grade rod (10ths). I purchased everything but the tripod from TigerSupplies.com. They had the best pricing on the laser that came with the LS-1000 receiver and rechargeable battery for the laser . Came with a VERY nice case for the laser and receiver. I'm quite pleased with everything. Very high quality.
Awesome video showing the old ways of doing things. Also if you looking for a laser check out the Bosch setup. I work with a guy who uses on for foundations and it's great. Also pair it with a magnetic receiver and you would be amazed how much more productive you can be. Hell I've been known to put a magnetic speed level on my skid bucket when cutting a swell in a yard.
Thanks for the real time digging with you , now do I get paid for working with you and playing foreman ? ..... 🤣😂 ..... thank you ! .....p.s. good job bossman 😎
Skid steer or mini ex? if you could buy one used machine to get started in this kind of business. I already have ways to haul material and machines around. Skid steers are more readily available and more affordable than minis though.
Bobby Rickey that’s the one question I get asked more than any other. I would go with a mini excavator without a doubt. Skidsteers definitely have their uses. It really depends on the majority of what types of works you do.
Im just a ranch owner but ill NEVER get rid of my excavator and just picked up a skid steer.. Both are the greatest tools to have..Now I have to learn how to grade
