My son just bought me a desert rose plant for Easter. I just came across this video with your dad's knowledge of grafting and making more colors. I love this ideal. Very beautiful and your dad is very talented and a very smart man! Thank you so very much, I have fell in love with this new plant and will be buying more to practice with.
Great job! The videos, part 1 and 2, are so informative. I got my first desert rose over a year ago and within the last week, just got 4 more! They are beautiful plants. A big thanks to your dad for all his desert rose grafting knowledge!
I WAS MOTIVATED BY YOUR DAD...I TRIED AND TRIED...ATLAST I HAVE 5 SUPER GLUE SUCCESS... SADLY METHOD 2..NO GLUE DRIES UP AFTER A WEEK OR SO. WILL TRY AND TRY. THANKS.
very informative and enjoyable. Your father's enthusiasm is infectious. I received an adenium from the local nursery in Florida as a welcome gift and hope to have many more.
I loved part one and part two. Great information and a helpful dad. You are quite fortunate to have such a great master at this. I have learned plenty after watching this a number of times. Thanks for the effort.
That's so amazing technique..before I kept thinking how they do the bonsai especially the different flowers in one pot of desert rose,I hAve a lot of desert rose in the Philippines, but I didn't do that ,I ignore them because its grow taller and they don't much flower. .now I know, thanks for your info about desert rose..once I'm go home I will try it..
thanx mate...appreciate for help ur dad to make this video.....just want to ask whether I can do root cutting of my bonsai adenium and grafting together.
great video, thanks you both for sharing. Is there a reason why we cut and grafting? is it because we want more blooming? what if we didn't graft and just leave the same plant grow, do we still have flowers? thanks
Hi the purpose is to have different colors and variety of flowers from various plants on to one host plant. I still think leaving them alone is still beautiful! Thanks for watching!
I really wanna try it home, these ways looks very simple. I just curious how the way the flower will look from the seeds produced from the grafted plant. Thank you for this tutorial, very useful for me!
Hello - good morning from Panama! I have appreciated so much the time you spent explaining and demonstrating the two types of grafts to the Adenium. I purchased two spindly, non-branched Adenium's. My plan is to cut the root stock into three plants. Next year, when I return to see if they all lived - I plan to graft on to the root stocks - an orange-coloured hibiscus and a fragrant scarlet oleander. Your thoughts? Thanks very much Dad and son!
Thanks for such wonderful n informative videos. Special thanks to your dad too. My desert rose plant's bulb part is under the soil so does it affect its growth adversely? Can you please put such video on pruning desert rose?
I will definitely work on a pruning video. I have seen desert rose overgrown in pots and literally the base is bursting the plastic pot open. if you mix a slow release pellet fertilizer in the soil, it will grow rigorously. I will do a video of one of those too. thanks for your comment.
In your personal experience between the 2 techniques, which one has a better success rate? Using superglue OR plastic wrap? Thanks for your very informative vids👍
Would honestly say the superglue method is slightly more successful. But most of the factors is the temperature and environment for the plant itself. I would graft during the warm and humid months for better success. Thanks for commenting and watching!
@@growinggreenthumbs7497 thanks for the reply! I will definitely try that. It's about 40s at night here in S.California, so brought my plants inside. But few of them had root rots & grafting some branches is my only chance to save them. I also got lamps on them, I would really appreciate any thoughts😊
Just another thought is it better to graft on young stock both the scion and mother plant will this give me more chance of success, and how late in the season should I graft we are in Autumn temp still above 18 deg at night thanks guys love your video's.
Thank u for video, first video in English and easy to understand. I just want to ask some questions, can U propergate a desert Rose easily? Would u have a video on that and another question, if U don't have hormone rooting powder can you use honey. I have a few cuttings and have got the in a glass of water,, in order to keep them fresh, is that ok to do? And also have a have few seed pods, can or will they be ok to open to take seeds out. Or do I wait. Thanks for your help in advance. Tania, Perth Western Australia.
Hi there. Question: I want to graft my Jade plant next year. Im doing research now. Would this technique work on Jade (Crassula Ovata) as well? I like the superglue method.
So ... excuse my ignorance but if you graft a red slip onto a white base .. do you get pink? And vise versa? Or does the slip stay true to it's original colour? Also .. forgive me .. lol .. the point of grafting is to have multiple colours on one plant? Are the various colours achieved through cross pollination then? Thanks 😕
Hi thanks for your comment. It is best to prune in the hotter summer months. For seed pods, wait until it is slight cracking open then you can harvest it. Don’t prune until the pods are fully ripen. Hope that helps! Thanks
👋, please let me know which soil I should use to grow Bonsai of Adenium flower plants. Thanks 🙏 watching from a cold country Canada 🇨🇦. Thanks, Regards. Zz.
I have a question , my desert rose , look like something is eating the trunks, but don’t see any bugs around there ? What could be ? It’s look like a snail eating , but is not ? If youcan think 🤔 of anything please let me know 🙌 THANKYOU
A very interesting & easy way to graft Adenium.Thank you for sharing these info with us. For the 2nd method without using glue, the plastic sheet is so tightly mounted over the graft, do we remove the plastic sheet the moment we see new growth above the seam?
