👉 Learn how to graph a cosine function. To graph a cosine function, we first determine the amplitude (the maximum point on the graph), the period (the distance/time for a complete oscillation), the phase shift (the horizontal shift from the parent function), the vertical shift (the vertical shift from the parent function) and the x-scale (the distance between the turns and the x-intercepts). After we have obtained these features, we plot the points on the graph and graph accordingly.

You are a great teacher but in this case I think you forgot to start at the phase shift and the graph is wrong. You might want to take a second look.

Sir can we take x scale=t/12-pi/4=0 so that we start with 3pi

Why are you setting P.S to 0. I was taught to just change the sign to opposite. So in this case, the way I was taught, P.S. would actually be π/4 shifted to the to the right from the original position???

because period is not 2pi as the sine graph is in the form asin(bx+c) ( it has a b (1/12) in it which alters the P.S). For all cases, you set bx + c = 0 to find P.S.

I'm taking pre calculus. I'm a senior at Oakdale High at California. Just reviewing for our test. Cool that you make videos with students and asking them questions. This 2013 Tho lol. So cool I got first comment and reply from a teacher
