BRILLIANT seed starting method, especially to see which older seeds will germinate and save space using one heat mat!!! To keep my seeds at an even temp, I've used two 12x12 tiles on top of the mat to avoid hot spots; I don't have one with a temp control either. I only have one mat, so your way saves so much money and electricity, that will save more for the grow lights. I love your black cat too, so agile. Thank you for the well done and informative video!

Hi BB! I stumbled on to your page here. I have to say, you have an amazing gardening discipline. I usually have a in ground vegetable garden in my back yard every year. And I do rather well with peppers and tomatoes. Im looking into starting some containers on my back deck this year too. I have to say i've had a terrible time starting anything with seeds!! Im going to try it your way and see how I make out. Do you ever top off your pepper plants? I started topping off my peppers two years ago and they produced much more than they ever have. I also with my in ground garden added an irrigation system and that seemed to help improve my crops. Your gardening habits are my goal this year!! But on a much smaller scale!! Thanks

Great video. I really admire your methodical, patient, thorough approach. And the way you use the 3 inch square pots in the clear plastic rectangular box is brilliant from a design perspective. Those clear tubs are easily transportable and the dimensions seem to work out wonderfully. I've struggled for several years to bring seedlings to the garden. I've often had success, it just seems like your approach makes it so much easier and more efficient. Well done. Very enjoyable video from someone who's been at this for years. And i really like the organization of your week by week chart. Shown at the beginning. Very well done. 5 Stars, bravo. Definitely a video for beginners. And your growth lights make the indoor germination process a slam dunk. I live in north eastern Ohio, and don't have much sunlight into the house. SO the growth light issue is something I've wrestled with for years. I just haven't had a very well thought out system. I really like yours for many reasons. Thanks.

Hello from Ireland. Your set up is really good. I am amazed how your doing so much. Your plants look crisp and extremely vibrant. The mix I use the same. I let my garden rest for the last 2 years. I had hens and turkeys. Their gone now, extremely hard work in my crappy country with the crappy weather we get. Rain, rain and did I mention rain. The weather wasn't great the last 2 Seasons anyway. Thanks to all the chemtail spraying we got little or no! Sun. I digress. Top notch garden keep up the great work.

Totally enjoyed your seed starting process! I'm always planting radishes too close together. What is kitty's name?? What a fun sidekick. I accidently discovered that alfalfa pellets make a good mulch cover and it add a lot of natural nitrogen to the dirt.(I had a bag my chickens wouldn't eat) After pellets get wet, it turns into a mush and keeps weeds from sprouting. I live on a ranch and we also from 1000's of acre of corn. I noticed when you set your corn plant in the bed, the roots were a bit balled up on bottom. It helps to loosen up the root ball a bit. Keep up the good work! Your new Sandhills fan.

Do you find that any seeds do not like being started in this way? I started seeds in a tray, but my house closing ended up taking a lot longer and they didn't do well. I am a little worried about the radish and cabbage seeds being so small. Either way I am in the process of doing this technique. I know I am getting a late start, but we had snow at the end of April and a killing frost not even 2 weeks ago so I feel I am not far behind other people. I gotta finish my raised beds this week. Any information would be appreciated. I will fix my process next year. I really like a lot of your videos.
