Funny how this video came out the day after I just planted 700+ Dixondale Farm onions including the 200TX sweet lol. I wrote them a note on my order that DDF should reach out to y’all and thank you for speaking so highly of them etc. because without you guys I wouldn’t have heard of them. I too and going to be donating some to the food bank and to neighbors in need to continue your tradition. Together we all can be “the positive change that we see in the world with our positive actions”. Cheers from Cleveland TX. Please keep the videos coming.

I also ordered from there based on Hollis’ recommendation. They are looking good! I have the green onions in smaller pots and larger ones going per Hollis’ instructions. This is going to be the year of the onion for me if they all turn out. I already have friends asking about when they will be ready because if all goes well, I will have plenty to share with my senior friends. By his hands, we are fed. I love that!

Got mine from a local store that grows them in my area FOR our area. With the Black Kow compost and his recipe for the container soil mix, my 4 weeks looks like a miniature Forrest! I have them in a lifted garden “bed” and cloth planters. Only downside to them is that you must water more often than in hard pots. In my area, growbags shouldn’t really be used unless you have an overwatering problem, otherwise the high moisture could drown the plant since water doesn’t evaporate as quickly as the grow bags. I have an overwatering problem. Lol! Love this channels! Such good people and nothing but help for the garden community! 🤍🤍🤍

Also, I’m still working my way through your videos, but I would love to see a video or two on you growing a variety of plants in used soil. It would be fun to see what each plant looked like if you did a container or two of each, and just tried it with year old soil from a previous harvest and didn’t add anything new to it. And we could see if they were smaller, tasted worse, didn’t develop at all, etc. Anyway, wonderful videos.

You can't go wrong with Dixondale Farms. Free shipping, excellent product and best prices. We used them for 2--3 years. 2 years ago we switched to starting from pelleted seed from Johnny's Seed. It worked great. 1000 seeds for $7-10. Split the order with my grandson, 500 seeds each, $5 each. Wonderful germination. It doesn't get any cheaper than that if you're on a budget. 😊 TYFS Hollis n Nancy

I love your videos and have watched from your amazing back yard to your new farm size garden. I suggest putting two to four times as many onions in each pot. they can touch or up to a quarter to half inch between them. Even that far apart is wasting space, time, soil, and fertilizer.

Like I have always said your harvest Is so amazing looking I was wondering one thing I noticed you always add blood meal to your potting soil I heard you should only use It when you got a nitrogen deficiency Is that true
@marktoldgardengnome4110
@marktoldgardengnome4110 2 года назад
Additional amounts added for plants that are heavy feeders of nitrogen will help those plants thrive, not just grow. Mostly for leafy veg. Many don't consider Onions to be leafy plants, but it's the size and number of leaves that determine size and number of rings in an Onion. With bunching Onions what you're trying to primarily grow is leaves. It does work. 😊 Good Luck.

I am thinking of trying Egyptian walking onions. Have you ever tried these type? I also have patients like yours, that is my major problem with gardening, that is why I like radishes and leaf lettuce. As a pastor I teach patients, but I struggle with following my advise. Someone told me when I was upset with my ventriloquist "dummy" was taking so long that, "maybe the Lord is trying to teach you patients." I responded, "I wish he would hurry up with it."

HI, I've been watching your you tube gardening videos for a while now and have learned allot from your methods and techniques on gardening, I love them as I live in Calgary Alberta Canada, it's a short growing season hear so I have to start most of my seedlings in doors in January or February and allow them to grow a good size then transplant them outside in April which is early in the season but I cover everything till the plants outgrow the small green houses I make for them, hears one thing that I have done for three years and that is at the end of every season, I always cultivate or bury all of the remaining growth from my gardens and that makes the the next years dirt so black and rich for that years gardening. Now mind you I don't have the kind of space that you guys do as I'm a renter so I have a bunch of small filling Cabinets that I take all of the drawers out and turn them on there backs then fill with dirt and use as gardens on my balcony and I get to grow a bunch of stuff like Celery, Cucumbers, Leaks, Carrots, Icicle radishes, bell peppers and a few other things. but I'm grateful to watch how you garden cause it has helped me for the last few years to grow bigger, better Veggies and I hope this year as always I hope to get lots to harvest.
