I have the same doubt as well but I guess the reason why he uses smaller pots is to let the sapling establish itself for a bit before it is exposed to the elements. I could be wrong but I am just going out on a limb here.

Gardening is my Passion I was supposed to enter culinary but now I love gardening. I bought most of the plants in the nursery but I want to propagate them soon. I have Dianthus, Carnation, sedum, Ammeria, ice plant, salvia, freesia, rose lily, euonymus plant, hydrangea, lilac, roses, peonies, canna, hosta, balloon flower, dahlia, Japanese Maple. Now I tried growing from seed like, mix carnations, gompherna, lupines, passion flower, hollyhocks. They are doing well. I'm so inspired when I saw your videos. Now I wanna try to grow crysanthemum from seeds. Oooooohh!!! I have mums too and I propagated them too. Hehehehe
