Put it in a room that has low temperature. A garage or shed for example.

@@MikeMurphyinc The squirrels are not attracted to the sprout, they’re attracted to the ACORN, which is still there at that early stage. (it’s like a placenta) The best time to plant it outside is when it’s a good size sapling, about 12 inches, give it take. Those solo cups he used are just for germinating. It should be transferred to a larger pot once the seedling is a couple of inches tall and has a couple of leaves on it. The pots ideally should be 12 inches deep to accommodate their very long and fast growing taproot.

I reuse the pots unless they are broke beyond repair. Thanks for being good with reusing

I had no idea what the tree was at the time. I knew it was some kind of oak. Not sure to this day

Honestly, not sure. I don't think that would mess it up. As long as the roots are able to grab and you see a sprout. I am not an expert though. I personally think you're fine.
