Your videos are very informative. in texas I get only frozen jamun fruits. 1. will the frozen seeds germinate? 2. Also the jamun trees become huge in India . How invasive are the roots? we may have to plant very far from the house. Thank you

thank u..:) yes frozen seeds can be germinated ..you can try it any time..:) jamun plant grows into a big tree in 5-6 years ..plant them 15-20 metre away from the house..:)

I grew it by chance I just put the seeds in a pot thinking nothing of it and 1 week later they were sporting best thing to do is have sandy-ish soil and have the soil very moist and water it enough to have the soil wet and don't put it in full sunlight in the first 2 weeks but this was my experience yours could be different

Update: I left it in our back yard not caring for it or anything cuz I thought it was gonna die since it didnt show signs of germinating back then but yesterday after checking our garden I noticed that it sprouted and grow to a healthy baby black plum sapling lol it didn't die!~ *im so happy*

Yes use peat moss or coco peat... Compost will help the seedlings to grow into a healthy plant as coco peat n peat moss does not have any nutritional value in them

@@urbangardeningofficial when you already saying that cocopet and the other one are having low supply of nutrients then why suggesting these Instead organic compost can be getable because cocopet seems apsent here please if you can tell where to get cocopet or I just buy coconut frout ,peal out it's fiber and mesh it in small peaces to create cocopet .

Ya sure... Make sure to leave some leafs on the tree after pruning.... Without leaves tree will not be able to make its food n may die

Jamun takes approx 10-15 years to become a fully grown tree, not just 2 years.

You can but the growth will be stunted. Better to replant in an open space or a very large container with good exposure to sunlight. I grow saplings in empty carboard barrels of shuttle (Mavis 350) and then fill with little soil, 50% vegetable waste and then some more soil and then plant them in any publicly available open spaces in my area during rainy season so that it gets water naturally for about 5 months. More fruit trees in and around my area in about 3 - 4 years.
