@Jess Weary Official Awwwww….Thank you so much….and that made mine. It’s the touching other people’s lives part for me. Much Love to Ya…. Much Love….🙋🏽♀️💗
Im thinking about growing them in a sunny place indoors and am trying to see how they do. I havent found much, but yours seem to be doing great! Its very encouraging!
I started experimenting with growing blueberries on my walk out rooftop when I picked up some some small bushes on clearance at the end of the season summer before last. I live in canada where it gets pretty cold in the winter. I just leave my potted blueberries outside year round. They came back last summer and I am really hoping they come back again this year. Your pruning demo was very helpful. Great video. :)
Thank you so much for your comment Shannon! I too decided to leave my blueberries outdoors this winter as I heard that the plants need to go into dormancy during the cold months in order to produce fruit. So I’m twiddling my thumbs doing the waiting game…. hoping for blueberries this year!😁Thanks again for stopping by. Much Love To You!🙏🏽💪🏽🙋🏽♀️💗
I never grew them before. I got 2 blueberry plants from home depot. They were the $10 bare root plants, 1 jersey and 1 earliblue. I haven't potted them yet but they started budding. Great vid happy growing🌼🌱🌿
Awwwwwwwwwww.....that sounds so exciting!.....nothing like a new budding plant! I can almost taste it LOL!....Thank you and Happy Growing to You As Well!🙋🏽♀️😁🪴
@Monu Bhogal If you have a window that receives full sun for most of the day, that should suffice. If not, a grow light would help. Since I made this video, I have also learned that if your climate is not too harsh in the winter, it might be safe to leave your plant outside in a more protected area. The plants may need the process of dormancy to produce fruit. I am experimenting this winter by taking a chance and leaving them on my patio. Here’s hoping they survive! Thank you so much for your question!🙋🏽♀️😁
I would recommend u take them back outside ^^ blueberries need a long chill time during winter. It helps them produce fruit. The cold will also help strenghten the bush... Just cover the pot to protect the roots :D
@@KathiesHeart you have tooo haha. Cut a 6inch new growth. Take all the leaves off except the top 2 leaves. Then cut those in half. Stick em in a regular potting soil or watever u have. And cover em with plastic. U should see condensation on the plastic every morning. Spray them every other day and keep em moist. In a few months they should root easily :D
Hi! I'd like to ask what kind of soil mixture you're using for your blueberries specifically. I'm thinking of repotting my indoor blueberries soon because they're not doing as well as they could be. Thanks in advance!
Hi! It’s been a while since I made this video but I think I just used a basic potting soil. I know you can be more technical about it as far as the ph of the soil, but I haven’t done that. I am actually trying leaving my blueberries outdoors this winter, as I heard that they need to go through a period of dormancy to allow for production later. I’m not sure I helped much, but thank you for stopping by with your question. Much Love to Ya!
@@WarriorIcebreath Add some coffee grounds, or something to add acidity to your soil. Blueberries need a more acidic soil that other plants. Nutrients from a compost pile help too.
I am not having much success with my first bb bush. I was told by horticulturalist where I bought in Denver to plant in spahgnum peat and mix vinegar and water to a ph between 4.5 to 5.5. Well it’s not doing well AT ALL! The leaves are turning brown and falling off. It’s not just the $20 I spent on bush and another $25 for peat but I sincerely had big hopes. Idk what to do now.
Hmmmmmmmmmm.....sorry to hear that Martha! Well, I’m definitely not a horticulturist, but how much sunlight is it getting?....is it getting good drainage?....what are your temperatures indoors/outdoors? Was it doing well before you planted it?
Hmm yeah the browning leaves would indicate 2 things. Over watering and the soil isnt acidic enough. Mix ur spagnum 1:1 with regular potting mix. I water my bushes with 2tbs applecider vinegar:1liter water, once a week. Blueberry bushes usually produce abundantly more when u have more tha one variety. Good luck :)
