I don't know who those 655, dislikes are because I think your video was fabulous. Just ignore them. You gave us so much information and explained it all so well.
Dear brother, I would like give a big salute for your patience to shoot the video about the growth of this plant🍇🍇 over an year and appreciate your efforts. Only few people are blessed with such kindness and you are the one among them.
We’ve just planted two grape plants and your video was most helpful!! Thank you for taking the two time period to show the planting and care until the vines share their fruit! So excited to see how our two plants grow and mature over the next couple of years!!
HI just found this video. 2023!!!! I live in Rocky Mountain House Alberta Canada and I am in zone 3b. Amazingly I have found and purchased 2 'valiant grape' plants and they are good to zone 2!!!! Anyone out there can now grow grapes! I do have a hoop house that I will plant them in permanently. I think that if I put one plant at each end (30 feet long) that we should be okay. I will follow your directions to limit each plant to two vines. This is going to be interesting and thank you for the lovely video you made showing me (us) how to care for our plants. God Bless!!!!
It's amazing that you did this over 2 years! It makes so much more valuable as a teaching tool. Thanks. I just bought some grape plants and hadn't realized I could use pots.
No nonsense, informative and showing the progress of actual plant from growing to the harvest that takes years. Most you-tuber can't even show progression of quick growing plants. Amazing video.
I have watched this video multiple times to try to get pointers and tips for starting my own grapevines over multiple years. Thank you so much for this content!!!
The best instructional video on grape growing that I've seen on RU-vid. All others are a convoluted, confusing mess. You make grape growing easy, as it should be. Thank you so much!
I am one of the plant lovers who has got success in producing on my roof & going to start making bonsai,on pots for demonstration in a tropical climate in Odisha,Choudwar,Cuttack,So every plant lover must do.It gives me high pleasure.
You give me some very good idea about the grape plant,I have a grape plant growing here in my yard,it is growing nicely, but by watching at your vedio I learn how to care for my plant here in Guyana, thank you Bro.👍👊💯.
This is a very timely video for me. I'll be planting grapes this year and it will be a first for me as I continue to expand my garden. Thanks for the detailed video!
I have recently decided to grow my own grapes. In searching for DIY information on growing grapes I stumbled across your very informative video. Thank you very much for sharing your lengthy and well detailed grape growing instruction.
Thanks for the excellent video. I grew two each Thompson and Flame seedless grape vines for several years and yielded enough grapes to supply the entire neighborhood (zone 10a). I ended up taking them out to make room for some other crops but they were really easy to grow and always had heavy yields. I do suggest a heavy pruning in winter leaving 2-3" of cane off the main stem every 12" or so.
Big Papi what are your chill hours? I am in San Antonio Texas I think I am in zone 8 I am not sure what my chill hours are, I had never even heard the term but I bought a grape vine at our local Walmart that had a clearance price. I put it in a grow bag and it is doing well. Just wondering what your chill hours are?
I just found your channel and I'm binge watching your videos. Thank you so much for all your hard work in sharing these videos. I am just learning to garden and haven't had much luck in the past BUT I'm determined to give it my best this year. You have helped me so much in just the little steps. Keep up the great work!
I have been looking for a video like this for over an hour now. Not sure why yours was not there, but I'm so happy I found this! Thank you! I love gardening and wanted to branch out this year. This has been so helpful!
You have a beautiful garden! You are very talented with your green thumb!! I live in Hollywood Florida. I'm gonna try to grow grapes in partial sun. The sun is brutal here. I have no choice. Any tips for hot weather like ours would be so appreciated!!!! I'm a new gardener and I am having a lot of luck growing here. 2/12 months and I do not miss purchasing some foods in the store! Its beautiful and fun!!!! Congrats to you!!
Fantastic tutorial. 2.31am and can't wait for grocery store to open. Craving grapes right now.... Thank you for sharing this with us. Clearly you are a very wise man.
Thank you so much for you information and effort in making this video! Just picked up my first grape plant without a clue.. now I have an idea 😆 Amazing editing for a video that was done over 2 years! Is there a RU-vid awards? You need a trophy!
What a Grape Video! Nice work and the journey was incredible. I just finished my first year on my Thompson Seedless Grape Vine and hoping for grapes this year !
@@ghosthawkk Nobody's gonna laugh at you for believing that intelligent life spontaneously came from mindless matter... which gives me good reason not to have enough faith to be an atheist.
This is the best video I've come across for growing grapes. Thanks to your video I dont feel intimidated to try grapes next year! Thank you for taking the time to make this informative video.
You put so much effort into this video. Wow, so many clusters of grapes, my mouth was watering. Great job. I'm across the country in Massachusetts zone 5/6. I planted 2 grape vines last year and I hope they produce an abundance of fruit.
definitely a thumbs up from me! i have been subscribed to you for a long while now. even though i am in zone 7a i always had to keep watching your videos. you have a very well mannered way of showing your process to whatever it is you are growing. i have had great pleasure learning a lot from you in 2016. so here's to 2017 and a fun year ahead with you. thank you for putting such effort in showing how you garden.!👍
I gave away my 5+ year-old container grown grape plant to my friends because I was traveling extensively and couldn't take care of it. This video was so beautifully done, that I think I'm going to ask my friends for some cuttings because I won't be traveling during pandemic times. Thank you for this wonderful video.
Thank-You for all the wonderful information on growing Flame and Thompson grapes. It’s 2021 here in Oakland CA. And I will report back to you in a couple of years to report on my success growing 🍇
We eat the grape leaves in The Holy Land Palestine 🇵🇸🌿❤ they are tangy and zesty we stuff them with rice chopped onions, tomatoes and mint with circles of potatoes and onion rings, with olive oil and A lot of lemon juice 🍇🌿♡ yummy so good 👌🏼
Thank you so much for taking the time necessary to show growing grapes from planting to harvest. I have never planted them before and plan to put them in next month. Thanks!
I appreciate your commitment and thorough attention. I bought a tiny vine from the nursery and you have been very helpful. I water my mix as I’m adding everything and it helps so I don’t have to try to get water that deeply in the end. Brightest blessings 🙏🏼
I just found your channel a few weeks ago, and I absolutely love your videos. I really appreciate the hard work and great information that goes into your videos. Thank you very much. Cant wait to see what you do with your new garden
Thank you so much for taking the time to record this process for all our benefit. I would love to see a video of how do you do the dormant season pruning. I am new at growing backyard grapes and am confused (intimidated) as to the procedure. Again, thank you.
California Gardening Hi I have watched two of your videos... the pineapple and this one.... please I stay in a hostel is it possible to plant these in doors....like by my window
Can you help me? I've had a grape plant that's been growing for almost 3 years now, last winter( I live in Florida, around December) I decided to start cutting branches and cutting a lot from it then it all died but for one branch. Now a month ago I noticed that it started growing back again and then a couple weeks later a lot of leaves grew with flowers on it like what was shown before the grapes grew but it then later died. Currently it's all just leaves and I mean a lot of them. Please help me I want to know how I can get it to produce grape
Came here, I have a grape plant with the main stem and a vine flowing left and right. The bloody thing has never flowered and the left side died off. Then it started growing another left vine so now I have a strong right side vine and a weak left. After two years this plant looks pitiful.
I’m from Toronto, begin to plant my grape vine at this month.i will follow ur instructions, thanks for the advice! Hopefully will grow well in this area.
Great video, thank you! Here in northern Europe, my grapes didn't come to much but there is a second harvest on these plants almost no one uses! Pickled grape leaves for stuffing and rolling. They're easy to pickle, simply submerged into brine. Your leaves are the perfect whole heart shape for that too! Woooonderful taste. For example, some chicken bits covered in green pesto, rolled and tucked side by side in an oven dish. Bake hot until crisped. Succulent pesto chicken in a crunchy salty tart enveloppe. Salted and pickled, these leaves have the most amazing flavor, especially slightly oven browned and crisped. You're welcome. :D
You narrate really well and have a great tone. It seems that you are genuinely interested in making this video and sharing your passion with the viewers. Appreciate your dedication and skill!
Great video - thanks for you efforts in making this it! Is awesome to have all the info from start to finish in one video! I've been trying to grow grapes for a few years, but am not getting much fruit. I am in So Cal also. I'll be fertilizing regularly as you recommend. Do you recommend pruning now, in January? My vine has no leaves on it at the moment due to the cold. Thanks so much!
Nice to know you are growing grapes too! Yes you can prune now thru early Feb while the leaves have not emerged. Prune it to the shape you desire and make sure there is enough trellis space for the vines to grow, they do grow very large over years! Happy Gardening!
@@CaliforniaGardening Four years and still no grapes , nice big green leaves , water twice a week , but still no grapes . Bought my plant from home depot , same as you
I love how you plant many of your veggies and fruits in containers, I didn't think it was possible to grow as many assortments. I moved into a HOA community and are very limited where we can dig in our yard because cable, phone lines buried. I have gotten many large planters at Sam's at a very reasonable price, so I'm stocking up and ready to plant something.
Thank you. I enjoyed your video. I plan on growing some grapes in the next couple of years. Your 2 year journey, for me, will be my "GO TO" video while I'm growing my own grapes. I thought your video was very detailed ( not overwhelming), every step of the way, especially for the final pruning to instill a good harvest for the following year. Most videos end with the harvest of fruit, yours continued to the final pruning which I found very important.
This is your best video yet CG. I commend your patience, dedication and attention to detail. Great job! Those beautiful grapes reflect your hard work. Here's wishing you and your family a Happy 2017.
From my botanical knowledge, it can stay as long as it can, if water is given timely, keeling it safe from infections and pests. The plant mass is solely the co2, sunlight and some water. You Can add compost, fertilisers if in doubt.
