Most people don't know that the MUSKIDINE grape LEAVES CAN BE USED in pickling for their tannins to keep you're pickles crisp, one leaf in the bottom of the jar when packing pickles keeps you're pickles from getting mushy.
This is one of the best informative videos I have seen! Good job guys!! Also, Aubrey is ADORABLE! Squeeze the pulp and seed out, then let him try it. I bet he'll like it, especially a sweet bronze. I grew up with Scupadines grown by my grandmother and they were sweet and delicious. I am growing some in a pot and they are doing wonderfully.
I live in North Central Mississippi and have 7 varieties and 20 plants. Started making wine last year and jellies before. Haven't had great luck with the seedless varieties as far as consistent production. Growing is easy and production overall is terrific. Planning to start another row this year. One of the best comprehensive videos on Muscadines, that I have seen. Great job!
Very complete, comprehensive, and understandable throughout the video. Answered all the questions I had. Hope you don't mind a Mississippi State fan listening in!

I had a Conrade plant for three years black as water did not bloom then i put in the muscadine grape ripe after the first winter the male; she bloomed they are wild tiny and daddy kids, so i will wait to the winter. so, i will cut back the vine it makes the tough skin tender
They didn’t tell the viewers, byy it t muscadine are native to Louisiana, also. Most things found is Texas is also in Louisiana, including the persimmons.

I live in South Al and my soil is 7 in most of my yard. I've been composting for a few years and most I've been able to bring it up to is around 6.8. I have very sandy soil as well...almost too much sand as it gets dry quick. What would you suggest? I think I have a nesbitt Not sure though...It's in a pot right now and plan to put in ground in fall.
How much water per vine and how frequently? Is the Fort Hood area too central vs East for muscadines? I'm from the Seattle area and hadn't heard of muscadines till I met my husband who is from North Carolina. I grew up eating Korean or Kyoho grapes, which taste similar to me. The Army has us here in Texas and we'd love to grow some for our kids. Will they fruit the first year planted or will they be yet another fruit tree/vine I leave behind for the next family to enjoy? Thank you for sharing this info!
it will take 2-3 years to bear fruit depend on howold vines are when bought you can buy vines from nursery older vines cost more need full sun 10-12 gal water week depending on type soil use 10-10-10 to fert. yellow leaves may need epsom salts (magnesium} to stay dark green
Man, i have that south east texas clay. Im 4 years into trying plants and trees.. its killing me. What DOES grow in heavy clay, that takes 2+ days to pass the drainage test

These grapes look completely odd and different. Grapes usually have a natural dust on the surface and by cleaning that, grapes look semi-transparent. But these are just opaque just like olives or plum or sth.
i have a damn wall of mustangs growing all down the side of my fence line, im talkin vines as big around as my thigh, how the hell do you get rid of them, i chopped a lot of em last summer, and come to find out them suckers were holding up the trees surrounding my property, turned into a mess, and they still there, like a damn jungle i cant kill
