That's Gorgeous!! Great set up! So , if I understand correctly, where other hydro systems fail at root crop development is in not having a medium in which the plant recognizes where to grow the bulb. You provide this place with the grow medium suspended above the nutrient solution, while keeping the two effectively segregated but functionaly integrated. I think I saw Dr. Kratky do something similar with ginger where the tubers and roots were in a medium and the roots reached down to a nutrient reservoir beneath. Thanks for experimenting and showing a sucessful and practical approach.

I refill nutrients as needed, if I remember it right I think I had to add nutrient for this crop at least once up to harvest🌱🙂

You planted these outdoors? Do you have a roof system? If you do not, how do you go about the rain?

Yes these were grown outdoors. No roof system in place. With slight rain I let them get rained on but with heavy downpour. I use a raised bed cover to shelter them.🌱🙂

not Hydroponic but a good hybrid system. still vulnerable to bugs and fungus but sometimes it works.

To me when no soil is use and nutrients is not coming from soil. The nutrient is feed or supplied thru a water base solution it is hydroponics.🌱🙂

From Home Depot, they are around $10 and you can make 3 growing boxes out of it. I made a video of it too, be sure to line it with at least 4mil plastic sheet to prevent leaks.😊🌱

Ano po set up nyo sir? Marami factors maka apekto sa slow growth. Maari po sa sobra init bumababa ang oxygen level kaya slow din ang uptake ng nutrient ng halaman. Kapag summer po ang ginagawa ko lalo na sa outdoor kratky set up. Nag lalagay ako ng frozen bottled water para maregulate ang temperature sa reservoir.🌱😊

Kung may area kayo sir na partial shade pwede nmn po maganda rin tubo ng pechay di nga lang maximize ang full growth. Meron po ako pechay at lettuce 4-5hrs sunlight lang sa gilid ng bahay.🌱😊
