Thank you for a really clear, helpful video - much appreciated. Silly novice question perhaps: if one wanted to sow the seeds directly in their final pots ( aka where the plants would stay for their entire flowering duration) would you still use seed compost and then add fertilizer as they grow? Or use multipurpose compost straight away? Many thanks & happy gardening.
Hi I have been watching your videos and they are really helpful and I was have a spicial request and hope that you could do a how to grow scabiosa/pincushion flower video.
Hi Margaret. Thank you for your appreciation.I use a brand called Humax - always gives me excellent results. Only use a compost that says is a seed compost. Keep safe.
Thank you SO much for this video! I'm a novice gardener and growing my own Snapdragons this year alongside veg and other flowers and I was so stuck on when was best to separate and pot them before planting put and now I know when to and hope they'll be beautiful in the garden! Thanks again. Kim (Cornwall, UK)
1. @2:34, how long does it take to grow that big? 2. My seeding stuck in little about 1/2'' for a long time and its not growing at all? Should I break the paper pot and plant in garden?
1. It was about 6 weeks. 2. If the weather is warm enough then plant them out. They may be too restricted or not getting enough nutrients in your pots.
I thoroughly enjoy your videos🙂. They're clear, very pleasant & convince me that even I, of the black thumb, could grow flowers! Thankfully, some of my Snapdragons come back each year (I actually have some snapdragon plants with these thick shrub-like bases!) and they re-seed, as well. Thank you for the inspiration! It all began with the delphiniums!
Really helpful video on Snapdragon germination and propogation. Thank you for the clear brief video focusing soley on the plants. That's my kind of how to video. Just bought my first ever Snapdragon deeds.
@@LearnHow2 Hi I've recently come across your website and it's very informative as I'm a newbie gardener and seed grower. Just a quick question can you put the seeds in a cold frame after starting them off indoors once they are established. I'm based in the NW UK. Many thanks
Could you tell me how long it was from the picture you showed where they germinated (I call it thread stage) until they had grown sets of leaves and you transplanted to individual pots? I feel like mine are stuck in “thread stage”. I was wondering about a time frame.
Hi. I am growing snapdragons and they have germinated but are tiny and very weak looking. Only 30 seeds in the pack but only a few have germinated. I am not sure if I should give up on them and try a different type. I germinated them in a heated propagator and did not cover them as advised on the packet with soil. Can you explain how long your seeds took to germinate and how long it took for the second set of leaves to develop. I can’t imagine mine developing like yours and looking anything like them. Do I need to be a bit more patient. Thank you.
Hi Carole. Mine took about 10 days to germinate and got their second leaves 2 weeks later. My Method is - Keep the soil moist but not wet, keep in the light but not direct sunlight until the plants have grown a bit, keep warm, 20 degrees is ideal.
Hi Himanshi. I always plant twice as many seeds as I need in case any fail to germinate. Here in the UK I plant my seeds early Spring and then they are flowering by Summer. I dont know what your winter climate is like so cannot advise. Keep safe.
Love seeing the close-ups and progression. I would suggest advising how much sunlight and their behaviors in varying temps. Sunlight for flowering but thrive in cool temps..spring and autumn. Dont give up on them on the summer heat!
Hi Jackie. Thank you for your useful comments. I try not to advise on different climates as this would make the video really complicated but I will bear it in mind for my next videos. Keep safe.
Sir can you please make a video on water lily plant nursery and market from where we can buy different colours of water lily plant and water plants please
