How to Grow Your Own Cayenne Pepper for Your Pantry (Easy Homegrown Spices Series) 

I grind up everything but the stem on my cayenne's. and store the ground pepper in the freezer. In fact I currently have three new cayenne pepper seedlings growing from seeds that were in the jar after course grinding my peppers 4 years ago. I pulled out 10 seeds and put the on wet paper towel in a baggie and 8 of the ten sprouted. I planted 4 of the sprouted seeds and three came up and are looking good.

Great video, Jill. I grow cayenne peppers every year and enjoy having pepper flakes and pepper powder whenever I want. I air dry mine but the results are the same. Joe's Long Cayenne is a nice variety with big fruit and only a couple plants go a long way.

I love growing spices! They are fun to look at too. Just be sure to not inhale after opening the grinder if you grind dried cayenne in a coffee grinder. Spicy 🌶️ 😂

I grow a lot of herbs for spice and tea...too much sometimes!🤣

Whoa Nellie! A little Cheyane goes a long way! 5 plants for one family? Do the words, 'House on Fire' mean anything to you? Love the video. Many thanks and one question. Knowing that a garden for 40 people could use a Ceyana or two, do you have any suggestions for companion planting? Who/what/where is a good place to plant the Cayenne? OK, so while it is not a gob-stopper huge plant, a little bigger than the average bug. Do you have any suggestions for where to "let it be"? Ok. Right. Like, is it a tomato plant's BFF, or like a Zucconi's long lost love? Growing, the Cheyane is a pretty little darling, so green with its reddening peppers. What color! Does it smell? Like a tomato plant has a wonderful (not tomato) scent in the garden. Does the Chyane announce its place in the garden with a scent? Where is the great place to put this small powerhouse? Jill I have a unrelated question the person I used to get sweet potatoes slips is no longer around. I watched 1 of your videos last year I got a couple now is their a different between yams and sweet potoes
