Can I use a hair dryer instead of the heat gun? I found a good price kit on amazon for $56 bucks... is that a good deal for all the tools and the screen?

What if you don't have a heat gun ?? For the adhesive

angie gonzalez technically, you can do it without it. Just work slowly around edges with the prying tool. Thank you

So I did the screen replacement and had no issues, home button and Touch ID was working fine. Went to seat the screen and then the home button suddenly doesn’t work. Any idea what I did wrong?

Hard to say!! Might be a loose connection. Might be a cut somewhere, or maybe even defective screen, since the home button flex is route through the screen. Thank you

Hey really need your help. So ive heard many articles and forums and videos saying that the the original home will not work with a screen replacement if not done at apple due to them placing a software lock on. Your opinions????

Steven Naing the original home button should work, unless physically damaged during the take apart, or if the home button ribbon (that is built into the screen) is bad. In this case you should just try another screen. Thank you

No you have to remove the camera off of your old screen samecwith the home button and put it on the new screen.

Robert Willis see if the iTunes recognizes it when you connect it to your computer. If not, try doing a hard reset. Press and hold power and volume down button at the same time. If that does not help, I’d try a new screen. Thank you
