How to Hack Terminator 2 (T2) from Arcade1up w/ NoFate v 1.0.1b from Mysdirection and Team Encoder

This is pretty neat I'd file this under progress. I put a wii in my T2 so we can do house of the dead 2-3 and guitar hero.

After using 1.0.1 for a couple of days, I went back to version 1a Most of the new games I didn't care for, and the ones I did (like Rail Chase) run particularly poorly and have bad audio stutter HOTD2 runs worse on 1.0.1 and has a lot more audio stutter It could just be my imagination, but the crosshair also seemed laggier in some games Duck Hunt on 1.0.1 is broken.. or my aim just sucks.. but yeah, I could barely hit 1/50 shots I'm not saying 1.0.1 is bad, and it's probably a step up from 1.0. But for me, 1a is the seeming GOAT, with the most stability, performance, and things just working out of the box. All the same, it's a great hack no matter which version you use, and Mysdirection did a tremendous job

I finally got the public release of 1.0.1 working (which is an improved version of the patreon 1.0.1b btw) and it works very good. Now, negative is that the stock T2 still doesn't run, but the hack rom version works great now. Positives are the the volume works and I can now play over 50 games on my unit. The way the install worked for me is that i kept trying, flashing, and trying until it worked. Important to note is that when it finally worked, my T2 had been off for about 3 hours so the pcb wasn't running hot. Also, 1st reverted back to stock, but didn't update it online. I don't know if that will work for anyone else, but it worked for me and I'm happy with it. It only took a week for me to get it running. Lol

Gotta hold the off toggle for a second or two to turn off, should work (with the v101 public release)

Just hold the power off button for like 5 seconds and it will power off.You need to get the newest version,it’s slightly better from all the games I tested.Great hack for free.Not sure why you would want to play stock T2 when the games plays way better on the hacked side of things.Stock T2 runs horribly.I’m happy to play many more games because T2 machine stock is totally not worth it

So it finally went thru. Not sure what what was different other that restocking from a stock. Games are playing better with the exception of Confidential Mission. It always brings up the Naomi screen and says error not acceptable. Any thoughts?

Unfortunately mine hangs at the initial logo screen and doesn’t even get to the choice to select P1 or P2. Just sits displaying the nofate logo

hotd2 looks like it runs better than on my 1a but with more visual glitches How well does Rail Chase run? I've been curious to try it since it looks like a lot of fun. Still on the fence about upgrading my 1a to 1.0.1

where is the best place to download rom games for this hack?

So I have reset the cab to stock but the only update available is the latest from 10/23. When I try to install 1.01 it is still stuck on installation screen.

So what's the install path on a new T2 cabinet? I have version 1, v1.0.1.b and v1.0.1, Did you install version 1 and then v1.0.1b? What are the 3 updates you mentioned? Are they Arcade1up updated that get downloaded? I don't remember my T2 ever downloading any updates.

Yeah still breaks the stock T2 and the hack ROM T2 is buggy so no way I’m doing this mod again. Nearly bricked my stock PCB last time. This hack is way too flakey. If I want to add more games I’ll happily pay for the Retro Shooter mod.
