Great video. I love your confidence pep talks. I started lettering because I wanted to learn a new skill and do something different. It started when my mom gave me this calendar for Christmas with some beautiful handlettering. I thought, "that's what I want to learn. Modern calligraphy." And now here I am.
I am only just beginning my lettering/calligraphy journey & came here to learn how to write the letter 'R', as I wasn't happy with my style. Instead, I've left here feeling so much more confident about 'my' style as it is mine.
I started lettering a year ago, it was a club in my school. I remember some of my classmates asking me why I’ve chosen almost the only club that you had to pay for, got some strange glances at me. I thought that maybe I shouldn’t go after all. In the end, I went to that club for the whole school year. In the first few months, I felt frustrated because my letters weren’t as good looking as I wanted them to be, but from time to time, something clicked and I felt that I’m improving a little bit. I basically struggled the year through because I wasn’t even close to being satisfied with my lettering. I gave up several times, which really meant that I would not letter for a month or two. For some reason, I always went back to it, and today, I really enjoy it.
I’m a little late! But I’m here! I used to draw my R like a classic cursive R, and most of my letters are in cursive! You are helping me branch out from where I started, thanks for that!
This is so helpful thank you so much kind Sarah appreciate the lettering tips inspiring me to keep on lettering even in a business transition awesome 👏
I stared slogan because there's no one who could be representing our school so one of my teacher ask me if I could and she says I have talent so he trained me ahaha😂 then through the years I prefer calligraphy than slogan so yeah still improving my talent hehe🥺
I started lettering for making beautiful greeting cards! I Didn't know there's something like lettering.....I searched for beautiful handwriting 😂cause my handwriting sucked!!!!
Judith Morgan If the paper you’re using isn’t smooth, yes! I never use my brush pens on rough paper or regular copy paper because I ruined so many pens in the beginning!
