I spilled a few drops of molten aluminum on my arm , at work, once. I brushed it off as fast as i could. There were two small, deep holes in my arm, but it didn’t hurt. It was so hot (1,350-1,400 degrees) it killed the nerves instantly. I touched a piece that i thought was cooled off, but wasn’t. That hurt really bad for about 5 hrs. Can’t be too careful with that stuff, unless you’re ok with getting disfigured.

Hi Silver Seeker. I appreciate all that you do for the silver community. I use a laser engraver at work. What I do to reduce scorching around some images is I use blue painters tape over the item I’m engraving. I don’t how it would work on silver but any bit of information helps. Thank you for the content and I look forward to your next video.

I'm not 100% sure I wonder if it's the minerals in the water I quench them in. The quench pan is also copper so maybe that's it? Sadly unknown but yes very cool. :)

Not sure how to get them hotter I had the torch on them.for a lot longer than shown in the video they were dang near glowing
@cosmiccreations888
@cosmiccreations888 10 месяцев назад
just a very simple Map Gas Torch stands is what most people use as it is usually left under the flame fo 4 to 5 minutes and yes I think your bubbles was from moisture es caping when hotter mold will remove moisture Before and silver get poured@@SilverSeeker
@SilverSeeker
@SilverSeeker 10 месяцев назад
@cosmiccreations7124 aye I agree I figured the same I was a little surprised because without the light on the molds were dang near glowing lol. I'm still learning so bound to make mistakes here and there, I'll try to get them even hotter next time. Also need to get a torch stand. :)

@fatlostmedia1376
@fatlostmedia1376 10 месяцев назад
only improvement I could say is it would be mucher nicer to level out the back/front of the bars and make the flush & even, and the more polishing/hammerin or overall much more intensive finish the better. I prefer stamps or pressed bars, but the laser is cool that you can pick literally any design & it can be done quickly & make it much more efficient.
@SlickCat

The cost and energy you used to melt the Silver is more than its inherent value. 🤷🏻‍♂
@SilverSeeker
@SilverSeeker 10 месяцев назад
And your point is... what? "Inherent Value" is irrelevant. You can view the ocean on your TV Live... so would you argue that the cost of going to the beach is more than its inherent value?
@SlickCat
@SlickCat 10 месяцев назад
@@SilverSeeker My point is silver is 28 dollars an ounce. The electricity you used to melt it down, laser engrave it, along with the time you spent is a loss for you. 🤷🏻‍♂
@SilverSeeker
@SilverSeeker 10 месяцев назад
@@SlickCatthe time you spend going on vacation is a loss, so is eating out at a restaurant here and there instead of making something cheap at home. So is going to see a movie at the theater instead of waiting for it to be streamed at home for free or way cheaper at home just months later. But we all enjoy doing those things occasionally because otherwise life would be boring. What I'm trying to say is that if you enjoy doing something then there is value in that. The little bit of loss incured becomes irrelevant at that point. Thanks for watching my friend.
@DevineAbyss
@DevineAbyss 10 месяцев назад
@@SlickCatAn artist (especially a painter) will have to buy paper, paint, brushes and frames. Then he will "waste" the paint and paper and wear out the other things. None of the things have more value after the painting is done, unless someone values the actualy painting. Something different in his silver pouring is that his works actually have value, no matter how much he would mess up or how ugly they become, because the material is inherently valuable. None of his around 900 dollars worth of silver was lost in the process. Only the energy and some wear on his equipment. So I'd argue he could sell his works for a much higher percentage of his cost than any bad painter could. But yeah, he said it's mostly for fun. Flying drones or going on vacation also does not increase your net worth. Neither does owning a comfortable couch or a nice grill. Most things in life don't serve the point of increasing our wealth. A comfy life and hobbies that you like are also important. It only happens to be that his hobby has some proximity to stacking/investing. If he only cared about minmaxing his stack it would likely not qualify as a hobby anymore.
