HOW TO HAND TIE YOUR OWN BASS JIG SKIRTS with no special tools 

Thank you. I'm 16 and have been fishing for 5 years but 3 years ago I got serious addicted. I have had all my tackle and rods pretty set and was looking for something extra and this is it. I haven't been able to do and lure making or rod making because I'm young and have a minimum wage job, this has seriously added so much joy to my fishing life. Thank you.

Glad this popped into my feed! I'm new to using a skirt kit with the tube and hook method but this doesn't allow for more precise positioning of independent accent colors as you did in this vid. It's really quite simple this way and as far as using the elastic bands to attach it, wire is always better. I've been wiring even my store bought jigs as they'll last forever this way. Too many have succumbed to the bands rotting and/or breaking and the skirts are gone. Great way to save some coin if you can save your jigheads! Thanks for the vid. 👍

I was trying to recover the skirts that fell off some older jigs when the latex (?) collar dry rotted off. I'm a fly fisherman and have been tyring trout, bass and saltwater flies for over 25 years and I was BESIDE myself on how to deal with the hanging skirt material . (I was also trying to do this fairly quickly.) I was using a hook vice. Laying the jig on the table would fix the problem of all that skirting material getting in the way and getting tangled. Thanks!

A 20# Test "UniKnot" looped & sinched down accomplishes the same thing in less than a minute. Nice Video.

protip....slide a small piece of coffee straw over the weedgaurd to prevent pulling weed gaurd into the twist
