Here are my thoughts on the glass fluff wise 1) Real World History The rapier is a weapon we're all familiar with. That weapon was invented after gunpowder weapons had begun to circulate in Europe. The swashbuckler and pirate tropes that we love, and see as a core of many fantasy campaigns, also come from a time when gunpowder weapons had begun to circulate in various regions of the world. We also have many accounts of ancient armies using gunpower to sap walls, counter horse archers, etc. Ancient armies being armies that have heavily armored melee infantry, melee and ranged cavalry, archers, etc. So, historically speaking, we have quite a bit of precedent for it. 2) The Alchemist We have an alchemist class. Gunpowder was invented by alchemists in our timeline. Pathfinder alchemists create elemental explosives, witcher potions, potions that somehow mend wounds, etc. and are known for experimenting on the daily to learn more about and expand their craft. What are the odds that these alchemists just invent gunpowder one day during experiment, especially considering all the crazier things they have made that aren't magic? Like potions that let people see in the dark, grow in size, gain claws sharp enough to rend armor, etc.

There’s a gunslinger in my Abomination Vaults vaults and she’s awesome. She can demoralize on reload and popping those crits fairly often.

All of the specialty reloads really do make the gunslinger fantastic.

I absolutely LOVE the gunslinger, and I feel like the flavor fits so much along with really low tech version of guns you get! Drifter and Pistolero have been super fun for me so far!

8:14 A small objection. If a gunslinger wants to deal A LOT of damage without that pesky "hit to crit" bit, AND doesn't want to be helpless against monsters that resist physical damage, there are two things to consider - one included in Guns and Gears, and another that requires another book. 1) a Gunslinger can also wield crossbows, and has a variant of the ranger's Crossbow Ace as an initial feat - and that means that a crossbow can supply consistent damage for those moments when things tend to go sucky. The G&G book even supplies a few monster crossbows that can poke holes in walls just... like... that. But if the player wants to stick to guns, there are ways - for example, the double barreled guns, that inflict unbelievable amount of pain in return for reloading slower, or the Orc Siegebreaker, a freakin' monster shotgun that inflicts unbelievable amounts of damage and can rip to shreds any objects unlucky enough to be in the way (but you have to be an orc or half-orc to use it effectively, or wait until you can use advanced guns to their full effect) 2) in the Treasure Vault book there is a new and improved kind of ammunition, the Elemental Ammo - tiny little beasts that can inflict elemental, persistent AND splash damage. Get the Munition Machinist feat and choose two of those (Fire and Acid work well) as the known recipes and you're golden. Better yet, choose one of those AND the recipe for one kind of Bane Ammunition (same book, same deal, more damage) suitable for the campaign. Even better yet, it's AMMO, not bullets - that means arrows, bolts, sling stones, bullets, if it can be loaded and fired you can make it. Get ready to become the best friend forever to any other character, martial or otherwise, that lugs around ranged weapons (precision rangers, anyone?).

All good points. Elemental Ammunition is really cool and it's definitely worth keeping around as a Gunslinger, especially given you should be able to afford it pretty early on and hang onto it until you need it.

6:11 I found that the property on some. Firearms to compare the damage against Bludgeoning or Piercing Resistamce/Immunity... Highly valuable. Our Archer uses A bow firing arrows, which are almost exclusively Piercing. We just met some ooze. Monsters, immune to Piercing /slashing. And in fact splitting, when cut or poked. Having a ranged weapon that can act as if Bludgeoning when necessary... Is its own boon Helps protect that damage.

I think when planning out your build and choosing your ways, it can be helpful looking forward to the level 6 feats that are specific to each way. Those feats can make a big deal for each way and are a likely level that you will reach in game and are things that you can look forward to and build to. Drifter focuses on dual wielding1 handed melee and gun, Vanguard is kind of defensive, kind of shove focused (it is a little disjointed), Pistolero can bump it's damage up vs a single enemy really high with demoralize and the challenge increasing the likelihood of a crit, Sniper tries to go for a big damage from afar but needs to lean into stealth and set up a big hit, and Way of the Triggerbrand makes combination weapons viable, if not exactly attractive. Lastly, Way of the Spellshot is meh. Just use enhanced bullets or runes.

Agreed, you really need to look at what each Way offers and look at the long-term progression for your character. You really need to understand the uniqueness of each Way to get the most out of it.

I like the class but I think there should be more feats to them, I wanted to build one that prepares a shot to do a big explosion (kinda like in action movies in general, despite not liking those movies, to play like one should be cool) and one that merges physical with fire damage due to using flammable projectiles or something
@RebelThenKing

You should look into Alchemical Shot, a Level 4 feat. It's not exactly what you're after but it's pretty close.

@@RebelThenKing Oh you are right but unfortunately there needs to be a bunch of more feats to keep on that style

10:17 I think, Numerian Tekk are my favorite source, for 'firearms'. I'm not. Sold on the 'why bother' including firearms, when the 'balanced profiles' so poorly represent firearms. Balance reasons, fine. It is what it is. But I'd rather ignore guns, than have weird standings for them. I'm not even referencing damage profiles. Rather. Action economy for a musket compares against a simple crossbow? And doesn't leave the musket seeming to be a terrible weapon?

About the god mode gun: That's not a real thing. Most antique weapons are doing much more damage than a flintlock gun. or a normal modern gun, too. Imagine a twohander wound. BUT: The weapon and the ammunition is easier to carry. (Try to carry 200 arrows) That's a BIG advantage in war. (This is why the sword is a more popular weapon as the superior spear.)
