Hey y’all, welcome back to Pickles BBQ. I’ve had a Weber Smokey Mountain for more years than it can count.
With the current craze for barrel smokers, I was envious. It turns out, you can have both worlds. In a less than genius moment, and inspired by other people, I realized the WSM is a barrel smoker.
Anyhow, here’s how I decided not to get another smoker and use my current one.
Links here, non affiliated, but fun nonetheless:
Gateway drum smokers for the rack:

Cajun Bandit for the door, they use the same crummy website, but also well worth it:

Grumpys BBQ sauce, dunno first time we ever had it and it was good:
Grocery store or online at

Good Arkansas rub, also grocery store, but online at:
twistdq.com
The inspiration for this idea came from Baby Back Maniac, along with countless others who have barrel grills. His videos are amazing, go follow him here:

Disclaimer:
I own two st Bernard’s and a cat, none of them were harmed in the filming, in fact, they didn’t want to come outside...it was hot.
They did however get riblets.
There may or may not be pork products in this video. (I’m pretty sure there are)
I’m not a professional chef, I just know not to run with scissors
YRMV - your ribs may vary
Thanks for watching, and I hope as always I can teach someone something or inspire.
If I can do it, so can you.
