Lion’s Mane Mushroom harvest, preparation, cooking and taste test.
Hericium erinaceus is an edible and medicinal mushroom belonging to the tooth fungus group. Native to North America, Europe and Asia it can be identified by its long spines, its appearance on hardwoods and its tendency to grow a single clump of dangling spines.

That is one beautiful mushroom. If you do not make it in the foraging industry, I definitely believe that you have a future in the culinary industry or as a hair stylist. Either way that was a great video. Thank you.

I think it's fair to say that in many places around the world, this mushroom is extremely rare and often legally protected. In the UK, you'll be in very serious trouble if caught with a wild specimen.

I would compare it more to shrimp. No it will not make you sick all of the Hericium genus is edible with no lookalikes, so it's great for beginners.

Awesome bro. I've been told the best time to harvest is when the "hairs" are 1/4" long. Longer hairs, like your shroom mean it's past it's prime "sweet spot".....making it more bitter.
