great vid, I have been watching my own moonflower seedpods starting to form and was wondering what they looked like when ripe. I'm impatient and I have a habit of picking things to soon lol

Same here, sadly I only got a few before a light early frost nuked all of the other seed pods I had ripening :(

9:48 may 9th I live in Nebraska and I fell in love with these flowers a couple of years ago when I purchased my home. Long story short do the seeds survive over the winter we have subzero temps at times. If I harvest the seeds in the spring are they good to go or no? Thnks first time seeing you and learned alot and hit that subscribe button 😂

Hi! There's always a chance some seeds can drop and overwinter in the ground, but I wouldn't leave them on the plant all winter. I'd harvest in the fall when the pods are ready. That said, if you have seeds to harvest, I'd try to plant them and see what happens! Remember to nick and soak the seeds first!

How many seeds did you plant to get that full look behind you in the video? Where should the seeds be stored until they are ready to be planted?

This was one seed if you can believe it! They grow really vigorously. I just store all of my seeds either in the baggies they came in or little paper bags.

If mine are not all brown yet, can I take the pods off early and have them dry inside the pod and then remove??

Generally I would wait for them to dry completely before taking the pod off the plant. You can always try if frost is about to nuke everything...frost nuked mine before I had any ripe pods this year:(

Good luck! I’m watching mine, but it’s too soon, Oct. 1st. We haven’t had any temps lower than the 60’s yet in TN. Thanks for the info.

Thanks! Watching mine too...the unseasonably warm weather here is hopefully going to give mine the boost it needs to fully mature those seed pods before the frost sets in!
