As lacey said in her comment water that falls on your land is illegal to harvest in some places. That's so messed up. We need to fire these overreaching "officials " and replace them with some people/homesteading positive folks.

Please be advised, rainwater harvesting is not legal in certain states and certain states' municipalities. Check with your local authorities before attempting to harvest rain water.

It's good to be informed of the law. That being said, I don't see any reason why this particular law shouldn't be broken.
