Hi everyone! I absolutely loved creating this video-it's easily one of my favorites so far. While filming, I ended up watching You've Got Mail, and I have to say, the ending kind of ruined it for me, but the cozy, NYC fall vibes still make it worth the watch! I've watched GG countless times back when it was still running. I haven't seen it for some years now 😅maybe I should do a rewatch. I usually stop watching after the first year in Yale... The tone of the show changes too much for me and really loses a lot of it's charm due to the need for constant new drama to keep things " interesting".

I agree. After Rory's first year at Yale, I tend to start losing interest. I managed to get to the episodes where she is working for the DAR and I haven't been watching as much. Those first few seasons were such gems!

@@RachelElizabethW so true. I think you can really notice they stretched the series out too long and many changes were forced due to actors leaving the show. Dean was slowly reduced and turned annoying because of other projects and later Supernatural. Jess was written in because Chad Michael Murray left the show and they needed a new bad boy... I don't know when it was originally supposed to end but going from comments Amy Sherman made way back I think Rory was never supposed to graduate before the "mom I'm pregnant bit "and she was not supposed to go to Yale but Harvard. I kinda wish we could have seen the series more true to the original plans as I imagine it would have kept it's original tone wo all the curveballs

@@EXOmakemeHorololo yeah I really think that it would’ve been a totally different scenario if Amy would’ve stayed on till the end, especially with how she was gonna work in Rory’s pregnancy. I absolutely hated the year in the life it felt so off and didn’t have much charm at all to it. I know a lot of people really want another season to figure out who the baby is but I’m pretty sure it’s Logan’s and I’m not sure if I could handle another year in the life.😂😂 I feel like they made teen less intellectual when Jess came on the show to like Dean was reading all sorts of books, and then all the sudden Jess comes in. I do like Jess, but he was kind of a jerk in some moments. I read somewhere that they thought about doing a spinoff with Rory after college and they won a Lauren Graham to direct it and apparently they didn’t think that Rory’s character could hold up the show which I definitely agree. I’ve also seen some of the pilot for the just spin off that got canceled and I’m so glad that didn’t happen because it was so cheesy.

@@RachelElizabethW yes they did a u turn w Dean which was untrue to his character and that was very frustrating!! He was more independent in the beginning too and had a lot of his own hobbies and that also seemed to change. He really was supposed to be the Luke for Rory and the "rich guy" the Christopher. I didn't like Jess at all as a love interest. I think it was a mistake... If you think about it, he was a better friend than boyfriend and it seems so cliche and shallow that they couldn't just leave them be friends. It would have been much more interesting if Rory could have had another friend outside Lane and someone that actually shares her interests? Plus it would have been nice to actually give Dean some of his own screen time to develop him as a person. The original Dean seemed an interesting guy himself

Perfect timing for me as I've actually fallen back into watching it again. I did a rewatch last year and for some reason it didn't capture me but now I'm really enjoying it yet again. I just absolutely love late 90s early 2000s stuff where you see them figuring out the internet etc. love that charm. This was a great video. Loved the titles (images and fonts). Deep diving into wardrobes and things like that is one of my favourite things to do as someone who can get quite obsessive the things I like! Waw your party was incredible! Oh, I better not forget...☕☕☕

I actually didn’t like the show when I first saw it when I was in my 20s because I thought it was too goody-goody, especially the early seasons of Rory and I just wasn’t into the charm of things at the time and then I watched the entire thing during the lockdown, and I absolutely fell in love with it. I definitely like the nostalgia of it. Thanks for watching and commenting! This one was really fun to create!

@@Sophieravenscroft that is a really tough question to answer. I like a Lorelei and Emily a lot. My least favorite is probably Jackson and Christopher. I definitely don’t do the whole team Jess, Logan or Dean thing. I think Logan‘s probably the best for Rory. I hated Dean and I thought Jess was pretty handsome but he also was kind of a jerk lol. What about you?

@@RachelElizabethW I agree, I think Logan made the most sense for her and who she became. You hated poor Dean!? Was it his bangs 😄 I actually like Emily a lot as a character too and even though she can be so tough, sometimes Lorelei just doesn't let her be a giving mother. I think that relationship is so well created. My least favourite has to be Michel. Please man, get your sentence out 😂

@@Sophieravenscroft Yes, I loved the relationship dynamic with Lorelai and Emily!! Yeah, I could not handle Dean lol he was just too clingy. He seemed okay at first but then went downhill as the show progressed. I like Michel a lot actually lol. I loved how rude he is but yes, it does take him a while to get to the point.
