I grew up in a house where one parent was so dominant and aggression and anger that in my older life I still fear that tipe of person.Even lost my brother due to suicide because of our upbringing
I cannot recall anywhere in the bible that we are to strive for, or even expect happiness. Happiness does not seem to be a thing that God is concerned about. Joy is mentioned but not happiness.
Serving each other is fine but clearly this won't work when the two are of a different opinion. If they are equal in rank, then they will eventually come to an impasse or a stalemate. Democracy only works when there is a clear majority so it can have no place in a marriage. This is why the woman is to submit; it's what the bible teaches. The man is to be the leader or initiator and the Woman is the follower or responder; these are the roles than nature gives us. Consider: who asks the other one out, who decides where they go, who pays for it? Who proposes marriage to whom? Clearly the Man is the Leader, his natural role is to lead, hers is to respond.
The message is a generally good one until you look deeper and see some error and places where he's not clear. "Dominating" can be negative and sinful, but it can look like "headship" as Jesus is the head of the church. He doesn't make this distinction leaving husbands and wives in a state of confusion when it comes to "Who has the final decision making authority?" At around 3:00 he starts with an example of equating the relationship between 12 grown men to a marriage between one man and one woman. I'm sorry, that's a terrible analogy of "apples and oranges". At around 4:00 he says there is no reference to Adam being over Eve. That's error and most likely a lie which appears to make him a false teacher... read on for "receipts". Genesis clearly says Adam was formed first and then Eve and God brought Eve to Adam... God did not bring Adam to Eve which shows dominance, hierarchy, headship, and patriarchy. This is reaffirmed in 1 Tim 2 and 1 Cor 11 saying man was NOT created for the woman but the woman WAS created for the man and because of this she (the woman/wife) should have a sign of authority on her head. 1 Tim 2:11 "A woman must learn in quietness and full submissiveness. 12I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man;c she is to remain quiet. 13For Adam was formed first, and then Eve. 14And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman who was deceived and fell into transgression" Genesis 2:13 And from the rib that the LORD God had taken from the man, He made a woman and brought her to him. 1 Corinthians 11:7 "A man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of man. 8For man did not come from woman, but woman from man. 9Neither was man created for woman, but woman for man. 10For this reason a woman ought to have a sign of authority on her head, because of the angels. Even if what he is saying was true (that before the fall God didn't design husbands to dominate their wife but the animals were created that way)... what he's saying doesn't even apply to us because we aren't before the fall. We have instructions for our reality today.... we don't live in the reality of before the fall. There is no similar evidence that animals dominated each other before the fall, so he's wrong about that too. The truth appears to be that God created the male to be the head for humans and most animals. Sin changed everything's nature and desires. He's only focusing on patriarchy and headship when it's not done right. He's teaching men to be wussies. A real man will do what is best for his wife whether she likes it or not just like Jesus did. The disciples didn't want Jesus to go to Jerusalem and Jesus told Peter (part of the church-bride) to "get behind me Satan". Jesus went to Jerusalem anyway because that is what was best for the bride. Just because Jesus washed their feet one time and went to the cross one time, Jimmy Evans make it like we are to do that everyday when Jesus didn't do that. Jesus also told the disciples what to do and admonished and corrected them when they were out of line. I haven't heard Jimmy talk about that because it doesn't fit his story. Tell the whole story Jimmy. Biblical headship implies loving, cherishing and taking care of the bride as part of his body. Abuse is wrong. Jimmy needs to clarify and clear up the confusion if I'm misunderstanding what he's saying and what he's not saying....
Don’t forget to read about the messianic era here on earth where Jesus reigns 1,000 years, and THEN after that all burns up and there’s a new heaven and earth, New Jerusalem and Father God COMES DOWN. Revelation is good to re-read.
Where is my husband when I need love in a sexual way? Where is my husband when I need him to have desire and love on me and show me he is my love.. and mine when I’m in need and my compassionate sexual lover.. He always preaches on a man needing sexual contact- never the other way around. Always jokes about the man wanting to have sex and the woman not- I know I’m or I think I have been a gorgeous beautiful fit woman- still am- many men let me know this but I want my husband . I could never cheat bc I have to be in love with my sexual partner .. sex doesn’t do anything for me if you’re not in love. Promise you bc I know from experience. I DO love to serve .. I LOVE to give and treat him like my king.. He has no sexual desire until he decides . Im so lost. I don’t understand.
