How To Have Better Creative Thinking 

I was creative until school beat it out of me and now I want it back

This video helps me a lot. Here is the summary of what i learned. 1. Everyone is creative - We have millions of brain cells, you just have to learn how to use it. 2. The left and right brain - left + right brain = creativity 3. Speed of thoughts - Practice, practice, practice 4. Originality of thoughts - Think out of the box 5. I think it's super cool how I already place value on speed of thought, association, seeing things from as many perspectives as possible, and overcoming the limited belief that "I'm not creative because I have a degree in math and am a logical thinker". This video really makes me feel like I'm on the right path.

In an age of media thinking, one must find his/her inner thinking. We are told over and over again that only few people are talented in order to reach dreams and be successful; politicians, tv personalities, actors, public figures and sports people. The massess must be spectator, not participants. This is a huge mistake. Like Tony says: everyone is creative. Find your inner voice, believe it can be done and go to work. Switch off your television sets and work!

This gives me hope. I've always wanted to write a book ever since I was like ten years old, but I don't have any ideas. I love my writing style, if only I had an original idea to go along with it.

Everyone saying that school stole your creativity you're actually right. Schools teach us a convergent way of thinking, which is the opposite of what Tony is describing: Divergent (or lateral) thinking. I've been trying to search ways to develop divergent or lateral thinking but so far I haven't found anything. Please share methods if you found some!

How many perspectives can i look at it from. Great creative thinkers play with looking at different perspectives. AlI great creative thinkers are using their imagination and association, their making links between things, associating. The two big key words for creativity: imagination and association. What you have to do when being creative is to find those associations and connections between things that are going to create something new.

Very interesting - but surely many of Tony Busan's ideas are about being 'innovative' and not 'creative'. (ie; innovation is taking an existing idea or concept and improving it - creativity is coming up with a completely new idea or concept). In fact. his reference to 'association' (of thought) is purely innovative. I agree totally that we are all capable of being creative - the problem is (and as Sir Ken Robinson has passionately argued for many years) creativity is 'taught out of us'. But being innovative is possibly equally valuable and Busan seems to confuse both capabilities?

WAIT; how to actually learn to think faster?

The example for step 4 seems completely non-sensical to me. Judging by just that, his concept of "thinking outside the box" doesn't mean much more than "spurting out random or downright impossible ideas" . Why not use it to glide down a zip-line? Use it as a hook hand for a pirate cosplay? There's so many uses for a coat hanger that are way more creative, logical and realistic than "somehow" doing "something" impossible just for the sake of it being "different". The rest of the video seemed fine but he really lost me there...

Nonsense, saying everybody is creative simply because they have brain is like saying everyone can have an IQ over 150 simply because they have a brain as well... no, you can't and no you aren't creative. Creativity is heavily influenced by your genetics. Creative people don't need a guide on how to be creative, you are either creative or not by default.

there's no "how" to creativity. what I found is when you try to be creative then you stray further from creativity. Just practice doing shit without putting too much mind towards it and creative things will come to your fore front

when the guy mentioned the coat hanger i remembered two same incident that happened to me recently and to get out of those two same situation i used nothing but coat hangers. up until now i thought i did not have any creativity and i once took an IQ test on the internet in which my creativity was zero, but now i realized it wasn't really zero i actually didn't know what i was doing this video just boosted my spirit.

Well I wasn't taught by anyone or anything, I was creative from the start, and everyone could see that even when I wasn't able to speak. I guess it has to do something with Intuition (from the MBTI theory) or high openness level (from The Big 5 theory).
