Great video! One tip to opening the ports, i use my heatgun to warm up the port end. It would make softer and easier to cut. As well, the cut was normally not as sharp as cutting it without the preheat.

Nice work. Like your commentary as you go about your work and how neat and tidy your work is. At the college I worked at, and was the WAN tech (I retired five years ago), we had AT&T install eight Metro Ethernet circuits in our data center, that connected our remote campuses throughout the state via pure Ethernet. Two AT&T fiber install techs did all of the fiber work. They banged that out in no time. My jaw was on the floor. lol There was a FOSC mounted on a thick marine board that was bolted on the wall at the fiber demarc point in the data center. The AT&T Metro Ethernet techs connected the equipment and tested everything. Everything was completed in a day. The remote campuses already had their Metro Ethernet circuits and equipment installed. We cut over from DS3 service to Metro Ethernet in four hours.

Hey thanks for watching and commenting I truly appreciate it🙌🙌 yea I build networks for all large providers. Nice yea you just have had some quality techs on site me and my guys can deploy any size network in a very fast manor the most recent somewhat bigger network was a new development 240 new lots we placed spliced and tested the whole network in 8 days was over 10km of cable along with another 2km feeder network to connect the new distribution cabinet we installed back to the main C.O it was a nice quick one. Once again thanks for watching and commenting I truly enjoy meeting and conversations with others in the industry

At 11:05 minutes. Use a fiber heat gun to pre heat that top. With a razor it will cut off like butter.......

I would heat up my blade with a touch or heat gun to cut that backing like a hot knife though butter. I know that part can be a knuckle buster!

If you get a heat gun, get a concentrator nozzle for it. The heat gun I use is not hot enough without the nozzle.

I can see that you don't leave any buffer slack, that is paramount in my country in case the cores are broken in the tray for any reason, in fact I have seen it happen, and with a buffer slack you just have to strip more buffer and you are ready to go.

This was an existing live fosc that was built years ago I was just simply adding a new cable to it. I always leave slack in the basket and in the tray when it comes to ribbon fiber. Unfortunately the tech who built this original fosc did not leave slack in the tray. Thanks for watching and commenting I really appreciate it

Hey thanks for watching and commenting. The best way would be to find a contract splicing company like myself and give them a call or another way would be to start your own company and ask who employs you now and ask to get some small splicing jobs

hI, do you have a video on how to mid spann a tube in 96 fiber cable to connecto to drop cables ? like in /out 96 that one of the tube dome of it get spliced to drop
@fibersplicegod
@fibersplicegod 6 месяцев назад
Hey thanks for watching and commenting I really appreciate it. I don’t have a video of this particular scenario but have dealt with in numerous times through out my career. To explain it quickly it comes down to how many fibers you need to splice out of the 96f midspan to the drop cable. If you have multiple drops you are needing to connect and it equals 12 fibers needed one whole tube then it’s as simple as just cut that tube and bring it to tray. If you are only needing one or two fibers out of the 96f then you need to bring the midspan tube up to tray and use a small midspan stripper to expose the full 12 fibers and then just the 2 fibers out while leaving the remaining 12 in the tube as one going in and out and store in the tray nearly. I will make a video on this the next time I run into it. Thanks for commenting and subscribing I really appreciate it

You forgot to treat the cable sheath with alcohol
@fibersplicegod
@fibersplicegod 7 месяцев назад
Hahah yes you are right I did not treat the dry loose tube cable with alcohol in the video but I did give it a nice clean alcohol wipe right before ribbonizing to remove any residuals from the fibers to ensure a quality ribbonization 👌 thank you for watching and commenting I really appreciate the feedback more videos coming soon
