I just love how informative you are in all of your videos! So tonight, after finding the perfect excuse to make them, for my daughters 8th birthday, tonight I’m going to do a test run once they’ve gone to sleep! The party is in 23 days, but who’s counting! Wish me luck! 🤞🏼🙏🏼❤️
Yessss queen this was very helpful. as yesterday was Easter and I decided to do apples for my family gathering and my apples began to melt and create tiny holes when I put the paper on them after cooling them off in fridge, they were still sticky and melted inside of plastic so when the kids was unwrapping them the plastic came off on the apple😢 and I live in Florida 😂 thanks
So you didn't see this video until now? Florida is one of those hot and humid states where it's probably best to use dry corn syrup. So you didn't get a chance to use the dry corn syrup? Being in your state after you dip all of your candy apples go ahead and bag them, then place them in the refrigerator until it's time for the event.
Very helpful, although I wished I had seen this vid prior to attempting my 1st ever candy apples (been wanting to start a few years now). You already had the sticks in during the wax removal process & I so liked that step better. I will be dipping today. Wish me well on the metallic/bling themed apples for a 50th bday celebration! Thank you❤❤❤
I usually put my wooden sticks only in the apples because it moves the process along faster. I add the decorative paper straws on the next day because I don’t want to get those wet because they might rip apart.💕
You’re so welcome. That was actually a good deal price because they was only charging you $5 per apple. However, I understand if you ain’t got the money to pay. You’ll do great making candy apples, but it takes practice to catch on. Make sure you come back and let me know how it works out for you.💕
I had my first order of red candy apples to do yesterday.I'll definitely be picking up this color from Hobby Lobby as well as get dry corn syrup. I'm in FL where it's typically warm. It'll be very useful in the future. Thank you so much for sharing. Happy Holidays 😊
It’s me again Queen Diva…setting up my when to do this and that book so that I can pre-plan for my first treat table event for a babyshower. I will be starting with the candy apples first since the process takes some time. I first practice with a small recipe and used the liquid corn syrup because I didn’t want to waste the powdered corn syrup in the event something went wrong like it did😩. But I realize what I did wrong from watching another video before finding yours. And that was I had added too much coloring in which I knew better but I was trying to get the color right so I panic. Anyways I was only able to get two apples done before the mixture was thicker than a snicker lol. So when I make the apples for the event I will be using the powdered corn syrup. The event is Saturday July 15th 2023 so my planned is to start the cleaning process of the apples on 7/10 for the 48hrs. My question for the lovely Diva is when should I color them would Wednesday be too early? I wanted to get a head start in that day since I have so many treats to make. And would they last until the day of the event. Please assist on what day would be more ideal Wednesday or Thursday. As always I thank you in advance and you have always been prompt on answering your viewers questions in a timely fashion.❤
You wrote a full book😂. Be careful with adding too much gel food coloring because that can also thicken your candy apple mixture.💕😂😂 Thursday will be better. Place them in the refrigerator until the date of the event. I’m glad you found my channel.
On the real tip, no question is too much or too small. Feel confident in making these candy apples. When you bag your candy apples on Thursday leave them opened until Saturday when you deliver, then tie them up.
I bag or box them depending on what’s on the apples as soon as I am finished dipping. You can place them in the refrigerator and they last up to 1-2 weeks. After 2 weeks disregard them. I hope this helps you.💕
Thank you sooooo much! I wanted to know how much of the dry corn syrup to use with this recipe because I have a large order of 25 apples for an event tomorrow, I live with my elderly Aunt and she keeps the house humid I def don't want to mess my first event but thank God I went back to your videos and found it! I'm using this recipe tomorrow! I follow you on Instagram and DM'd you but you answered my question in this video.
I can answer your questions faster here. Use the same amount as you do for liquid and that’s 1 cup for the 641 candy apple recipe. You will do great! Try to keep them cool over there at your Aunts house…lol. I hope she ain’t like my mother and be having the heat on in the summer time.😂😂❤️
@@DIYQUEENDIVA Thank God she dont turn on the heat in the summertime but she might as well since she don't use the AC LOL Thank you so so so much again!
Hi, that's called Hi-Sweet. It's dry powdered corn syrup. This is used in hot weather or warm temperatures to slow down the stickiness and breakdown of candy apples.💕
Hello from Dallas Texas. Your Candy apple's looks so delicious and pretty. I wanted to know do we have to add them oil flavor's for the taste. Or can I just not add oil flavor's and they will still taste good. Thank you
I add the extract for the good taste. It was someone that didn't want any extract, and made them in this video here- ru-vid.comVu5dQ8TAdAk?si=IQI63IrvYuX9valK She told me they still was good, but I always use butter vanilla 99.9% of the time.💕
Looks really vibrant..I just ordered my powdered corn syrup. This will be my first time making candy apples glad I ran across your video to use the powdered syrup. What is the best type of pot to use is a stainless pot good to use.
As long as you use a heavy bottom pot. The 2 candy apple pots I’ve used in my videos are located here in my Amazon bake shop at www.amazon.com/shop/diyqueendiva and scroll down to candy apple pots.💕
You can use any flavor you like. I just love butter vanilla as my default flavor. You will need gel food coloring, any brand just as long as it is gel food coloring.💕
😊 ty. I found a gel food coloring at Michael's store. Also the powdered corn syrup I can't find canada. Amazon is to expensive 30$ to ship a 9$ product. I would love to try the heat proof candy apple.
No not at this time but I need to run to a craft store real quick and get one because I forgot a customer wanted to add six roses to their order. When you dip your candy apple instead of letting the extra candy fall off in the pot to scrape, let it fall off in the silicone mold and place the candy apple inside the silicone mold until it hardens to take out. I hope this helps you.💕
🛒SHOP HERE for CANDY APPLE POT: amzn.to/3vG0Kmk I know my candy apple recipe 6-4-1 candy apple recipe gets up to 24 candy apples. It depends on the size of the apples too. The bigger the apples the more candy apple mixture is needed. You will need more candy apple mixture too for the roses because you must let extra candy fall down in the silicone mold. You might have to do it twice if you don't have enough candy. The candy Here's my Amazon store for supplies. www.amazon.com/shop/diyqueendiva
Hello l watch you on another video where you made apples and brought 4 apples to your moms house 2 u left inside your moms house and 2 you sat outside ,and you didnt seem to like the apples with the power syrup, is this one a better quality? or is this the same one ,l have to make 12 apples in August the bday party is for a 4 year old,the party is outside ,l want to use the power syrup but only if the taste is good
Both are good. I’ve been making candy apples for a minute and that’s the only reason why I can tell a slight difference. Other than that I wouldn’t be able to tell because they are still both good.💕
What do you do with your leftover syrup if you only made 12 apples? Can you reheat it to do another batch say couple days later? It seems such a waste of product (sugar is expensive) if you have still lots left.
You can make lollipops or candied grapes like this - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3PG49b8LO7o.htmlsi=S3xaHe8vnst2VShi You can also reheat your candy apple mixture but I never do because reheating it just don't taste as good as your first batch. It usually have a burnt taste reaching 300 degrees again. Try using 3-2-1 or 4-3-1 candy apple recipes for smaller batches also. I hope this helps you.💕
Always keep your candy apples cool. If you're in a humid hot area it's best to use dry corn syrup and place them in the refrigerator with the bags opened. Then before delivery or an event tie the bags up.
Have a question I have a event that needs 100 red candy apples could you give me some advice on how to do them never done a large quantity like this please help
Have you ever made candy apples before? If so just use 6-4-1 four times. If it was me I would use small Granny Smith apples. Start cleaning your apples 5-7 days in advance with sticks. I hope this helps you.💕
Hello, corn syrup is a common ingredient in many hard candy recipes because it is an invert sugar. Invert sugar inhibits the formation of sugar crystals and provides a smooth texture to hard candy, caramel, and other cooked sweets. It's up to you how you want your candy apples. Just know that I've tried it without corn syrup and I didn't like them. I hope this helps you.
@Candy Apple TV what exactly didn't you like about the apples made without corn syrup? I've tried the vinegar recipe and would like to know the difference between that one and one with corn syrup
Hi! I used the high sweet, but my apples came out extremely hard to the point the knife couldn't cut the apple. (Followed your mixture exactly) Is that how it's to come out? Not fond about the taste either. TY
Hi! This comes from you using too much gel food coloring which alters the taste of your candy apples. So whether you’re using Karo or Hi Sweet with too much gel food coloring you’ll get the same results. As a beginner get a teaspoon and don’t use more than a teaspoon of color to avoid adding too much gel food coloring. I prefer Wilton’s white icing color. This is the best to use because it doesn’t alters the taste of your candy apples. Make sure you don’t use too much gel food coloring because that will happen or your candy apples will come out too thick. Candy apples are supposed to be hard but they will come out thick too if you use too much gel food coloring. I hope this helps you.💕
As a beginner upside down is easier and they come out looking even too. However, if you want to insert the stick right side up that’s fine too. I do both.💕
That happens a lot. Try to cook your candy on low to see if that improves. Look at this video here because that happened to me recently and I just added a little more white. Don’t add too much because too much gel food coloring will make your candy apples too thick: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IKpshRY1hqA.html
Hi! In my description box, scroll down and click on my Amazon bake shop link. The 2 candy apple pots I use can be found under the "Candy Apple Pots" tab. I hope this helps you.
Candy Apples are supposed to harden. I just don’t make mine thick. The only soft candy apple you’re going to get is caramel and somewhat a chocolate apple. If you undercook your candy to make it taffy like it will be hard to chew it due to it getting stuck to your teeth. I hope this helps you.
@@DIYQUEENDIVA I know, but the problem I'm having is not being able to dip 12+ apples before my mixture hardens on me. I have some to make tomorrow. Let's see how it goes🤞🏽
@@DIYQUEENDIVA Happy New Year! So, I was able to get 12, but definitely had a lot of mixture left for about 4-6 more apples, but the mixture started to get stiff
Happy New Year to you as well! Great you were able to get 12 candy apples plus extra candy leftover for more. So when you're done dipping your apples, any leftover candy will eventually harden in the pot. This is normal. I pretty much throw my candy away by adding water to the pot until it turns back into liquid and pour it out. I hope this helps you. Again congratulations on your first dozen of candy apples dipped at one time!
Hello lease tell me what I am doing wrong every single time that I try to add my color in after the mixture is hot the white seems to crystalize like there are little small white particles the two colors the white and the red are mixing well together the way your is I keep wasting money . But I am determined to get it right. Thanks queen have a great day
Ty so much for replying I know uvare busy. The white is AmeriColor I gotbit from walmart it saya soft gel paste but its happened when I used the gel food coloring from walmart and it did it with the Wiltons bright pink as well with the AmeriColor white
As far as white use the Wilton's white icing color which you can find in my Amazon bake shop. I've been lately trying out Satin Ice white gel food coloring since Wilton's white icing is always sold out and that works pretty good too. I love Hobby Lobby gel food coloring. I've heard many people complain about specks or crystallization using AmeriColor. Try those gel food colors that I mentioned, I believe that will help your issue. Make sure you come back and let me know. Oh, and another thing never stir your candy mixture while it's on the stove cooking. That causes crystallization as well. I hope this helps you.
