@@haukenhung thank you for sharing that with me…my mom had me when she was 43 so…now that i’m 30 without a mom is tough. we kinda had a falling out because of my “step dad” and i wasn’t even allowed to say bye to her at the hospital. i had a baby girl too. it would have been my moms second grandchild, the first from me and the first granddaughter. i know she’s happy and smiling down on us. i wish i could go back in time and do things differently. she passed two years ago this august and it still doesn’t seem real…i hope you’re heart heals and your daughter has your moms eyes.

My baby is already going to be 10 months in a few days and she doesn’t crawl… the Dr told us to have her more on the floor and once we did that the first day she started rolling back and forth and being on her tummy more pushing and kind of swimming. I’m getting very anxious and I feel bad that I didn’t know what to do with my baby to help her. My husband is so over protective so that’s mainly why she wasn’t on the floor a lot because he always was worried that she was gonna fall and hit her head… and also because the germs… anyway now we bought her the floor foam letter squares to have more cushion since we have tile. Your vid helped me figure how to help her. Thanks!

He has been inching his way recently but seeing the arm and leg action it’s only a matter of time before he gets the hang of it. He’s so eager to move. I’m not ready!!! Hahaha. Cheers to all the fellow new parents in 2023 🎉

For anyone inquiring about a helpful tool- the boppy pillow- or a leg-like pillow has been an integral component in our journey. It has helped each stage and milestone so far. From supporting his back learning to sit up, to reaching forward and back to sitting position, to encouraging him to lean back and forward strengthening his core and neck muscles, to helping him turn over into a crawling position (I.e. replacement for a human leg to give him a buffer as he reaches the 4 point position.)

@dfc41
@dfc41 Год назад
@Erica85 my son will be 11 months on the 21st, he is still army crawling but not "typically" crawling. And he didn't start army crawling til close to 10 months, it happened out of no where. He was doing the "fish out of water" prior to army crawling and seemed not to be progressing until one day he started to push off with one foot just a few inches. Try not to worry. I know it's hard cause I still worry because he hasn't said his first word nor is he crawling on all fours but my pediatrician said not to worry he will be fine.
@dfc41
@dfc41 Год назад
@Erica85 also before he was army crawling we tried motivating him with toys and it didn't work, what did get him to start pushing with one foot was my plate of food. I would try that. Even the remote didn't work and he always wants the remote but for some reason my food did it.

My baby has been trying so hard to crawl. He’s trying to pull both knees underneath him, but he pushes himself backwards instead. He often leans forward and face pants.

I have a 4 month old boy and he is pushing his upper body off the floor. Very wide hand positions but he gets the idea. When he has this wide arm span trying to push himself off of the floor, i gently place my arms behind his upper arms near his arm pits and i just apply a little pressure to straighten out his arms underneath him. He can hold it for about half a second before he flatens out again, but i do it every time he tries to push off the ground because it helps teach him where his hands need to be.

Thanks a lot Emma, would u please make a video on how to train babies put stuffs especially food in their mouth on their own. Cos mine never does it
@EmmaHubbard
@EmmaHubbard 3 года назад
Hi @shirley placing food in their mouth is difficult if they have not yet learnt how to drop/release items. It is also difficult if they are using a whole hand grip. So typically it is around 8/9 months that they can accurately place food in their mouth and drop it in their mouth. They are even better at it at 12 months when they are using their thumb and pointer finger to pick up food. How old is your little one?

She's also having this feeding bottle aversion. It's so stressful to handle her feeding aversion. Please help me out with how to resolve feeding bottle aversion as well. Hi Emma can you please explain if it’s important for babies who learn how to first walk to get new and good quality/ supportive pair of shoes? Is Stride Rite a brand u would recommend? A mom told me it should never be secondhand as it could affect their gait and posture but wanted to double check with you!! Thanks again
@EmmaHubbard
@EmmaHubbard 3 года назад
@Pri USA from my understanding it is best for new walkers to not wear shoes - so be barefoot the majority of the time. If you do need a pair of shoes then what you are looking for are supportive shoes - so you don't want shoes that folds when you try to touch the top of the shoe to the back of the shoe. You also don't want a shoe where you can squeeze the sides of the heel together. I don't think it would be an issue buying second hand shoes - in fact physiotherapist that iI have worked with gave clients second hand shoes to use. Sorry if that is confusing.

Hello, our baby is almost 10 months (11th of august) and he's gets better everyday at that 4 point position and he even moves his knees forward but he has trouble moving his hands forward so he gets frustrated because he cant reach for his toy in his tempo. My partner keeps telling me i don't have to worry but i do worry a bit because he is almost 10 months and can't crawl. Kind regards Stanley

Thank you for your videos. They've been super helpfull! My baby is 5 months old and he's recently learnt to do a slow army crawl to get around. He rolls onto his tummy, pushes himself up on his hands and then pulls himself forwards with his arms. I know it's still a bit early for him to start doing a proper crawl, but is this a regular first step for babies to get around? I noticed you didn't mention army crawling.

Hi Emma, I am a mom to a 9 month-old and your videos been my go to for all things baby. I am struggling with my baby stuck in the crawl position but doesn't really move and gets tired and lies on the tummy asking for help to get back up. She rocks back and forth but that's it. Any suggestions on how to get her moving, it's been like this for a month now...

my baby too! she is 9 months and she lays on her tummy and moves legs and arms and thats it. nothing else. She rolls over from tummy to back but not from back to tummy. She is very resistant to learn.

@@mariasaenz9912 How did things turn out? Our son is almost 7 months old and behaves similarly. While we still have a few months, he seems resistant to wanting to learn and just ends up getting upset during a tummy time after only a 5 to 10 minutes.

@EmmaHubbard
@EmmaHubbard 3 года назад
Hi @Blessy K thanks for the tip - I was thinking this would a be good video to do so glad to hear you would find it helpful. Basically there are two ways to help a baby go from sitting to lying down depending on what they can do. It is a bit complicated to explain without showing you ,so a video would be the better option. I will do this shortly.
