How To Help RELAX A Female Cat In Heat 

My 14 years old indoor unspayed cat is very affectionate during the heat cycle and her meowing isn't irritating (her meowing is cute). Also my cat never sprayed (Female cats generally rarely spray!). Our previous indoor unspayed cat lived to 26 years old and she was healthy all her life. Also my aunt's indoor unspayed persian cat lived to 23 years old and she currently has two 17 years old strictly indoor unspayed persian cats. I use natural dewormer and natural herbal remedies and I feed homemade balanced high protein low carb food and high protein low carb canned food. Heat cycle is natural, We women have period every month, atleast my cat heat cycle is not every month! My cat is healthy, happy and playful living in a large house.

Had a bad patch and couldn't get my kitten in to be spayed before she came into heat, this went on too long, she got out, got pregnant, had kittens, they've finally been given away to another foster to get adopted out, and I'm awaiting my kitty getting her shots and getting spayed, before she goes into heat again. Bless her, and bless me if she has to go through heat again. Sounds I've never heard before, vowels and consonants and chords I didnt think a cat or a human could make. Nothing but sympathy for her, a very sweet little cat. She has been anxious, missing her kittens, ever Ince they were given to the foster, ten days ago now. Much meowing every time I leave the room, even for a few minutes, and much greeting when I return. She has serious separation anxiety, as if she's worried I'll leave her all alone or give her away too; she was a rescue when she was a kitten, so this is the only safe life she has known, the only constant love and support. And I'm crazy about her and I do miss the kittens too. So any tips on dealing with a cat in heat, if it ever happens again before she's fixed, or another cat in the future. Looks like next week instead of this week, but the longer we hae to wait, the more risky it is. Might have to wait out a heat cycle if she comes into heat before being spayed. Bless her.

about a month too late. My newly adopted girl was driving me crazy. after watching a few videos on the subject I started massaging the affected area which provided temporary relief. Now I'm the favorite.

I think rubbing the base of their tail might also help them somewhat, getting fooled into thinking they did the bang bang. It can act a quick substitute fix, as this part of their body is sensitive.

Before she was spayed, I've given my female a bath to help cool her down and I did notice her anxieties subsiding for a couple hours.

Oh my sweet baby cat jesus, I'm really happy I got her fixed when I did...only she still yowls and she rolls like she's going through a heat cycle. She's always been very vocal but hhholy crap it gets worse every month or so. Vet says she's fine though..

Melatonin implants are done over seas for show cats; but are slow release an only last 6 months max. But help I hear a for cats w health issues that can’t get fixed until a certain size of 6 lbs min. But I don’t think they make stuff available in the states as they do there.

It’s weird though because my male cat is neutered so for her to be in heat because of him I mean, I don’t understand he’s neutered. I don’t understand why she keeps going into heat, but I am going to get her spayed. The only thing is she’s so skittish that it’s hard for me to get her to do anything for me so wish me luck.

Thank goodness I never had to deal with with a cat in heat because I had them spayed as soon as possible. But thank you for your tips just in case a young female cat shows up on our doorstep.

I am aware that spaying can be expensive ,esp in the US .However it really is the best answer for any female cat that the owner doesn't intend to breed from .I would urge anyone who has an unspayed female to do their best to get this done, if at all possible .Adopting is a good way to avoid this issue since many rescue organisations will have a female spayed before adoption .We are fortunate in the UK because some vets and RSPCA hospitals run programs to provide free or low cost spaying and neutering for people who struggle to afford it .Hopefully the US has some similar programs .

What’s better than anything else is spaying. Spay your female cat and neuter your male one. It’s easier for them and yourselves. Some cities have spaying and neutering vets programs that are cheaper and sometimes can be use for everyone not only the poor.

Shelby started at 5 or 6 months old it was hell when she went into it i wanted to sleep in the car ! Soooo glad when she got fixed !! Now I'm going through it with ziggy she will get fixed soon.

Give her a sock with Baldrian-tea as a toy....that will put her mind of....for a while. Give her cooked chicken, and play Classic music. There are Pheromone scents and calming remedies...that give her more Peace.

I have found another method.Doing an acupuntcture right by her tail for a short minute. She will yowl as if she's mating. But she will calm down for a while. And extra affectionate afterwards.
