Doctor Magnidico, can you please get back to me more on this. I have heard from you and another vet, to "water down" the canned food and that is the very first time I have heard of that and can just tell me more about that!

My cat is straight up gluttonous he plays very often with me his brother and his Automatic laser pointer in-between But he will eat his brothers food the dogs food my food we have to isolate him to feed or he'll eat everything. He's huge and I'm so worried about his weight. I'm going to try these foods. I have been giving him half can and half dry but I will look into these brands you mentioned.

When I first got my cat I was in elementary school and my parents did not help with feeding him so I had to and let’s just say I gave him ALOT more food than he needed 😅 the food also had a lot of calories and was dry kibble 😢 he never really lost those pounds so I hope that this will work! He is 22 pounds and I’m going to ask my parents about buying the canned foods u said and some more toys like the treat ball that he can roll around ❤ this is extremely helpful bc some other videos talked about a whole water treadmill for the cats and I’m like WHAt WHERE DO I EVEN GET SOMETHING LIKE THAT 😂😱 anyways if my parents end up buying the toys and food I’ll update this 😊

We got our new cat today. 14 years old. Rescue. 8 kilos. She can hardly walk. I really hope we can slim her down to 4 kilos. **Edit. She has lost 1 kilo now. She goes up and down the stairs and yesterday she got off the sofa by herself. Another 1.5 - 2 kilos to go.

1. Get them off of dry food, and slowly change it to high-quality wet food (5 oz size, water it done) only. 2. Get him moving: take him outside, play put dry food in the toy ect 3. lose 1 lb every 3 months is a normal rate

I tried putting my overweight cat on canned food only over time, measuring each meal, added water. she ballooned and gained even more weight and had excessive diarrhea, unfortunately I had to switch back to the prescription dry weight loss diet ;( her stools are fine now…

I recently came home from college and the cat here who before I left was a little heavier but relatively pretty healthy, is now morbidly obese and is about in the same condition as the cat in the video I’ve been researching for about 3 weeks now on how to help her, so I’ve started all of that and have bathed and really brushed her behind I feel so bad for how’s she’s gotten. I really wanna try and get her in good shape again so this was good to see that the stuff I’ve got will probably help. Ugh it’s so frustrating when animals aren’t taken care of

What I have tried to do is train my cat, and instead of giving her treats, I give her bits of dried food. She totally falls for it.

You mentioned 1 5oz can with water 3x a day. Does that mean each day give him 3 5oz cans of wet food?

my kitties are gaining weight. i feed them mostly can. I think ill completely eliminate any kibble.

We have a nearly 20 pounder & I just got a prescription for the diet/metobolic food for him. I hadn't heard the 3 cans p/day & gradually get rid of the dry, I'll have to check with his vet & see if she recomends the same thing, I've been giving him 1/6 of a 5 oz can, the 1/2 c dry for him to 'graze on' through the day. He's only 15 so yes, a senior kitty, the 'stoic wise elder' of the house, & we want this to continue for a good long time yet. We just went through losing one & don't want to do that again for a long time! His brother was actually the opposite, he was underweight, 14 years old & 8 pounds... He passed from what the vet called chronic/acute kidney failure, by time he started showing symptoms he was already in the final stages. Anyway, yes, we want to get our 'big boy' healthier so he'll feel better & hopefully be with us even longer.

This is very interesting. I have 3 cats. One is over weight by about 5 pounds. I'm starting to get worried. All 3 cats are let outside everyday. They go in and out as much as they want during daylight hours. At dusk everyone goes inside for safety reasons. They have a litter box at night and access to as much dry food as they want. Every morning they split a can of wet food and get about a tablespoon of wet food when they come inside at dusk. This is a doable solution but I can't afford can food for all 3. Since Pinkman is the only one over weight and he prefers sleeping in bed with us at night I can just shut the bedroom door and keep the dry food bowls elsewhere. In a month I will comment if it's working for the Pink One(nickname)

Cat sitter here. I been a cat sitter for 3 decades. 90% of the cats I take care of have DRY fur with dandruff, rotten teeth, eat 100% dry food, their litter boxes are often FULL of feces and urine, and their pet owners don’t play with them resulting in diabetes, tooth decay/loss of teeth, poor quality of life. Pet owners often tell me: dry food is cheap, I don’t have time to play with my cat, my cat sleeps all of the time. I can go on but I’ll stop here. What you don’t realize is, cats playtime is typically 5 mins or so a couple times a day then they get tired, wet food contains moisture, and move the water bowl AWAY from the food bowl, or get a pet water fountain, cats loves it! Cats don’t like both water and food close to one another. If you implement these little simple goals then you will have a healthy and happy Kitty. 🫡

Thank you....I’ve watched multiple videos and you are the only professional that has answered my questions.... I have a two year old 22lb siamese. Tonight I had to wash his butt...I noticed a mild odor...he has difficulty reaching his behind lately. I groom him daily and play with him frequently throughout my day to the point that he becomes SOB & has to cool down. That scares me. He was severely malnourished and had coccidia when I rescued him from a “kitten lady”. He was starving all the time and I feel like his eating is emotionally/psychologically driven. We have two other siamese so it’s difficult to manage his intake at times. I love him so much...and enough to do what I have to. Luca is a beautiful boy, we want him healthy. Any advice or insight would be appreciated.

Wet food or dry food?

That poor cat it's so sad that he has not been locked after🤦 Can food is the best or would I say wet food, feeding Dry food now that's not a good thing if you love your cat 🐈 now the Veterinary lady she is just being nice now really what she's trying to say the owner of the cat needs to fix up big time 🤔🧐😒🙏🏿 A healthy is a cat you interact with both physical and mental exercise with toys.I always play hunt with my cat as much as I can he loves it 🙏🏿👍🏿🐈😎 I put in atleast an hour a day ✊🏿👍🏿

My cat will not eat wet cat food at All doesn't like treats or chicken or fish. We have tried she won't eat anything but kibble. She also doesn't like Lazer pointer. She's been this way since she was a little baby

My husband’s senior cat looked exactly like this. He was 18, got cancer and we had to put him down. when I came along, he was 15, and I tried really hard to help him lose weight but he was too old. :( Our current baby is 6, and he’s allergic to fleas and grass so harness is out of the question, we have catnip, laser pointers, and not free feeding but he’s still gaining.

Can food you must be RICH which is $21 a week that’s $84 bucks a month! In today’s times that is not possible especially if you’re a common folk

One thing my vet recommended was a joint supplement called cosequin. I give her two capsules with her wet food and I’ve noticed she moves around a lot more.

My cat will not eat wet food I've tried multiple brand and textures but she won't touch it, and I live in an area where I can't walk my cat outside. I desperately want her to eat wet food but it's costly to keep trying to male her eat it. I've tried everything her vet suggested. Gradually introduce the wet put a little in one bowl and dry in the other, I even put a small amount of wet and dry on top. Then a little wet and mixed in the dry. I even refused to give her dry until she ate the wet but she'd just starve herself. THEN my daughter got a dog and now since we have been treat training she's gained more weight. Right now she's 2yrs old and 12 pounds. I wanna stop this weight gain before it gets outta control.🥺

My bombay cat looks similar to this cat and he has a fat mount on his chest and his breasts yes i said breasts swing back and forth when he trots down the hallway.

My cats on the larger size and I couldn't even imagine I always brush his fur and and make sure his back side is clean

Not true about wet food. My cat was raised on wet food and became obese as well. She ate good quality wet food and still gained weight

Two of my outdoor cats are really obese (they have a special room in tha attic, but they can exit any time they want) . They don't have to catch food. I guess also neighbours feed them.

My youngest cat is a rescue, I got him from a tree (sounds like he’s a fruit), trying to run away from some dogs. He was 6 months old and was very malnourished. As soon as I got him, he would eat as much as he could, which made sense because he was hungry, but now he’s 9 months old and getting fatter and fatter because he doesn’t seem to understand that he could have food all the time and will never miss it again, he eats almost as much as he did on that first day. He’s the biggest cat in the house already and he’s not even an adult yet so I’m getting pretty worried

I feed my cat blue Buffalo, it’s the dry kind. Is that okay? We just bought a huge bag, could I mix it with water? I plan on switching her to wet cat food. She’s only 12 pounds, but she can’t reach, so we shave her butt for her. I have two cats, but only one is obese. I measure her food too but she is still fat. I don’t understand why she is obese but the other cat is fine. Please recommend how I can help my cat live her best life. :(

I had my cat on a gravity feeder and after 6 years my vet finally said she could probably use a diet. I asked him how. He said fill a bowl in the morning with Iams kibble. When she quits eating, remove the bowl. Repeat for dinner. Then that is the amount to feed her everyday. Nice simple plan if you need to put your cat on a diet.

I recommend fasting your cat. It works for overweight people and overweight pets.

i really need help with my cat izzy. she’s 6 years old and she’s gotten overweight ever since she got spayed when she was young. she’s not extremely fat but i just don’t know how to help her lose weight. she’s really active and loves playing and jumping and climbing but she is just so chubby. i think she’s gained a lot of weight because of her dry food, and my mom probably won’t let me switch her over to a wet food. i just don’t know how to help my cat. i’ve even gotten a harness to help her exercise more so i can walk her. i think the food is the main cause of her weight gain.
