Here's how I take my cat's allergies out. Permatly. Buy peppered turkey brest and get them used to tiny turkey treats. Why? Black pepper contains the canabanoid CBN. CBN is actually more prevalent in black pepper than canibus or Marijuana. It's a very strong anti-inflammatory. It is also a medium strength pain reliever and antacid reducer. Black pepper also contains decent amounts of iodine, magnesium, and zink. The turkey is low sodium. However, you can always just grind your own black pepper corn and sprinkle into your cat's foods. Being a biochemical engineer, I was bored during the pandemic and decided to concentrate on food that protected our immune systems. This works safely for all pets. Yes, even birds.
In one of your other videos you recommended stinging nettle to be applied topically. You mentioned it was a natural antihistamine. My cat has suffered from what the vet thought was upper respiratory issues for years, my cat is 19 yrs old. As he has gotten older, he is constantly with a congested stuffy nose and he would end up with an infection. I have tried everything, treatments with cold laser, chiropractor treatments, neuro allergy treatment, energy frequency treatments, as well as taking him to the vet and putting him on antibiotics. These treatments help some but it didn't eliminate the issue. My cat is a very good patient and tolerated all the treatments very well. I decided to try stinging needle to treat My Cat stuffy nose. I simply made a tea from stinging nettle. I let it cool and I syringed a small dose three times a day for 2 days. My cat showed an immediate Improvement. His nose was not stuffy and he wasn't having to breathe out of his mouth. I've reduce the stinging nettle to once a day and it has kept him free of a stuffy congested drippy nose! I control the infection from the stuffy nose with colloidal silver. Thank you thank you!
You can also use garlic instead of antibiotics, for anything that antibiotics would be prescribed for. It doesn't kill the good bacteria in the gut....just the bad bacteria and whatever ails you....or him....or her.
@@allaboutmycats454That's not completely true. Sure, it's toxic in high amounts, extremely high amounts...but it is perfectly safe in smaller doses. I have used garlic for over 30 years with ALL of my animals with success....and no bad effects at all. I'm saying to put garlic infused oil on the skin on the back of your cat. They will lick it off. That's such a small dose.
I have 8 kitties, and they all flip out if I try to sneak anything with any sort of odor and/or taste. It's a very real issue to even get the chemical drops between their shoulder blades for flea treatment. I have to sneak up when they are eating and get one cat per mealtime. I would much rather use a combo of neem oil and coconut oil, but they can smell both of those from across the room and off they go. The taste of coconut oil, if I can manage to get a couple drops on their back, doesn't seem to be completely detestable but the idea of any foreign substance in their fur or their food is totally unacceptable to any of them.😂
I adopted my older cat from the shelter over 3 yrs ago. I discovered she has terrible skin and food allergies. She had been a stray for 6 months and came into the shelter totally bald. The shelter got rid of the fleas and had her spayed. I fed her Blue Buffalo wet and dry food. She is very picky and won't eat any human food. I bought a different brand of kitty treats when the store was out of Blue Buffalo and her mouth swelled up causing her to look like she had lips. She rubbed her mouth on her paws and I only had benadryl. So I gave her a little of that. The hair around her mouth fell out and has never grown back. I was told by the vet to use their expensive flea med. She broke out in a terrible rash. I called the shelter and they had used Advantage Ii on her and had no allergic reaction. I use that and she's fine. I am never going back to my previous vet again. Ty for your vid. I'm glad to know there are natural remedies for cats. I will try them one at a time to make sure she does okay. If I gave her several things at the same time and had a reaction, I wouldn't know which thing caused it. Everything is so expensive now I can't afford to see a doctor myself or take my cat to the vet. I always put her first. I don't really need any new clothes anyway.
Hi do you have any updates and if anything helped. My can has allergies, keeps scratching and loosing some of her fur, she also has dandruff. She also has a sensitive stomach. It took trying many food brands to find something that didn’t make her throw up.
Murray looks like a chunkier version of my old cat William..... I miss him. He was my favorite boy. He slept on top of my heart, head under my chin....best boyo for life.
My cat is 3 years old, pure white male and I have honestly just been so lost for a long time until now. Thank you so much for your affordable suggestions! I hope I don’t have to go back to vet to get anymore unnecessary testing and pills that aren’t working for him.
Bless your heart doctor. I just found your channel and subscribed. Where have you been my whole life lol. What a blessing that you are willing to help people with advice they can do at home. This is a huge help for me as I am on a small SSDI income and have six rescue cats I have adopted, plus I am feeding the neighborhood strays. What a great peace you have already given me knowing that I will be able to provide better medical care for my cats because of your compassionate advice. Thank you from Bolt, Dot, Gadget, Speedy matriarch Meowble, and the cat caboodles mom.
Thank you for posting these remedies. My own vet having priced itself from reach, I've been worried for my cat. Now here's a chance for her to gain some relief. Cheers Murray!
Those are the very same remedies I take for my own problems . So funny ... Have them on hand to share with this fat furry friend. We are both old so quality of life is all we are after. Your information is like a Christmas present. Thank you so much . You have often put us on the path to recovery. thank you so much sincerely
Can you do some videos using a cat that won't just lay there? ie - you live by yourself and your 12lb cat loves to run away and hide when you try to give him supplements, apply topicals, etc. Murray is too calm 😅
Thank You, we are doing everything we, and the vets know, for our very sick cat. She is scratching herself crazy. She, even though sick, is still very sweet. Thank You, FR
Has anything help your cat I have one that is very sick and don't have the money to take her to the vet to find out what is causing the allergy I feed stray cats I took her home have her inside everything started after she got spayed
Call around and see if you can get help to take her to the vet. Find a rescue in your area, and see if they can help pay for it. I work for a vets office and we use something called animal defense league. Don't make your cat suffer. Get her help
I’m sure when the spayed her they vaccinated her. So it could be the vaccine. They do have detox is for vaccine. If you look up adored beast they have one called rebalancer. You get four pumps of the spray bottle twice a day for 10 days and then stop. I’m doing that for my cats not even though they were vaccinated over six months ago
Murray is one spoilt kitty... love it - so beautiful... NB : Dogs have masters... Cats have STAFF...!!! Just a tip for dustmites... 1/4 of white vinegar in spray bottle Rest fill with water...spray all areas ... works well Also : vacum cat 10 minutes after dusting her wth flea powder (hate poisoning cat) & Baby powder ... cat used to vacum cleaner - works well...
For ear mites on a stray "community cat" (befriended while young), I use coconut oil in the ear, and mix with iodine for lesions on the exterior ear, head, face, and neck areas... Just coconut oil elsewhere, AFTER rubbing down iodine and coconut oil mix, to remove scabbing and relieve itching, plus kill bacteria to prevent infection... At least twice daily, while I keep her inside, in an extra large dog crate during treatment... When real itchy, 3x daily (disolved in her favorite wet food) I give her a quarter 4mg tablet of an OTC allergy Chlorpheniramine Maleate (which is pretty weak, and cheap for a generic, compared to other allergy meds).
Thank you Dr. Jones!! My little Gary has been extremely uncomfortable for the last two weeks and I’ve been really concerned. I noticed about a week ago that he would cry any time I pet him on his back. He then started obsessively trying to lick his back, and would roll around trying to itch it. We changed his food to a different line a few days ago, and are hoping to see some results. I’ll definitely be trying some of these remedies ASAP. I feel so bad for my little Gary Berry 😢
@@oliviamartini9700 I believe you are correct as we finally discovered flea poop in his fur a couple of weeks ago!! We put some of that flea stuff on his neck, and got some of that Diamascius earth stuff and powdered it all over the house. It seems to be helping but the incessant rainy weather has made the problem absolutely insane. It’s a true war against these fleas
I learned recently from a vet that almost always a food allergy will present itself mainly as lesions on and around the face. While an allergy ( namely flea - but never only flea) will present as tons of tiny scabs on the back that you can feel if you run your fingers along the back from tail to head. Hope this helps!
Can you please do a video on food allergies? There are so many food brands to choose from and some of them are not to be trusted, if you can guide some of us, it will be appreciated, thank you so much!!
@@himanshighangas2492 Nothing personal here, just a comment. You may be vegetarian but your cat is an obligate carnivore. Please feed it based on its biology.
My poor little ragdoll Grace had a food allergy. It clicked when I finally noticed she was shaking her head and getting red, puffy eyes and ears in the 30 or so minutes after eating her food. She’s now on hydrolysed kibble and probiotics and even though it’s only been a week or so she’s doing so much better.
Once she's all healed up you can slowly introduce single ingredient foods to see what she's allergic to. Keeping on kibble is not the best thing long run, my vet wanted to keep my cat on RX food for life but I declined and now know what he's allergic to. Not sure where you're located but the cleanest ingredient wet foods I've seen have been Koha pate, Hounds & Gatos pate and American Journey pate
@@nicooliver6019My cat seems to have food allergies too and she’s on hydrolyzed kibble for few weeks, how should i introduce her single ingredients, like should i give them to her at the same time she’s eating the kibbles or should i stop giving her the hydrolyzed food and start giving her the single protein?
@@vvv-kh6xu I would do a slow transition to the single protein once her symptoms have healed so you can monitor for new ones. Ones she’s been good on the single ingredient you can do a slow transition to another and do the same
I really appreciate your work. I see some other vets on RU-vid but I believe you have the animals best interests at heart ❤I also like Dr Karen Becker I am sticking with you guys. You are both very informative thank you for sharing 😊
A cut off sleeve may help ,cut long sleeve shirt sleeve off, poke 2 holes with scissors for front legs , stretch em out , or 4 holes depending the length you"re going for. ( At least they wont lick their fur out ) or can use a sock if smaller cat - want it snug but comfortable for them they wont like it but works in a pinch until vet help ❤❤
My cat is suffering with worst allergies and it sucks that none of the vets have any solutions besides steroids which is making him gain weight :( . Thank you so much for sharing this video! Will try these remedies - hopefully his itchy scalp feels better after this .
my cat has licked her skin between her legs so it’s raw! and her whole face, head, neck ears are all cut and bleeding. vets only do steroids that help but i don’t want her on them so i’ll try these.
Thank you for sooo much for this video. My Jack has had a recent outbreak around his nose and I am going to take your advice 😁 God bless you all and thank you Murray❤️🐾
I can't wait to try these, my cat has pretty much scratched her hair off and shes full of wounds and scabs. I've taken her to the vet 3 times and they still don't know and I can't afford to keep taking her so it's nice to see some home remedies I can try. Thank you thank you. I hope this helps
Same here, my cat was undiagnosed and I switched vets, because I felt like there should be reason other than mites for his itching, I was right, turns out he has really bad allergies. Since we have had him since I was very little he is an older cat, so I am very sad to say the newer vet only prescribed him with itch managing medication which is cause of diabetes and such, but won’t do tests on him to find the root cause of his itchiness.
So I took it upon myself to try to help him out by switching up his diet to try and find a cause there, his inflammation has definitely gone down, but unfortunately he is still itching and breaking his skin. It sucks because if it were mites we could just treat it and it would go away :(
Murray's a growler! I haven't had a growler since I was a kid. My guy has allergy symptoms sometimes along with flea bite allergy. Fresh Aloe vera barbadensis or miller variety can be eaten once the yellow alonin sap is drained and washed away. Some people eat the alonin too.... The Aloe gel rubbed all over my cat deterred or killed the fleas within a day along with the scratches and inflammation they created, allowing me to avoid prescription flea medication still... I use Diatomaceous earth around the house and bottom of furniture, mattress and pillow, but I use it mixed in water to apply it which is known as slurry in the horticulture field. I may even eventually try it on the cat that way if the aloe fails, but his sensitive skin and breathing still has me avoiding it. I was interested in using my Tumeric extract safely also. Also noticed cats love cannabis plants and prefer them over catnip plants. Cats love to graze grass and safe plants. Was also thinking of having nettle growing for the nutrition and medical benefits. Thanks for your help I will refer to you often.
You are such a blessing to the world. Thank you 🙏! I had to give my cat a flea bath using Dawn soap and it has totally triggered her skin allergies just like certain litters do, and since then she has been scratching like crazy and making cuts on her neck because she is a terror when it comes to trimming her nails. I’ve started topical coconut oil but now I’ll go get licorice and start her on fish oil. Thank you from Kitten Little (foster fail- after ten years that’s still her name 😊).
Oh my, he does look like Steve Irwin. I miss watching him on tv. Murray is a good cat. My cat Sugar is a rescue cat and she is very stubborn. I hope she will be as good as Murray,,lol.
Thank you so much for posting this. I've subscribed and am about to go put some coconut oil on my itchy kitty before bed. I'll be getting the licorice tincture and nettle tomorrow. Namaste!
Great tips always try home remedies if possible but i also do regular visit to my Vet with all my pets.................................Thanks for sharing these great remedies to try out!
Thanks for the great videos! I'm so hopeful you can give some advice. My cat is always uncomfortable, liking and scratching. We discovered through process of elimination she allergic to eggs and fish. She seems to have seasonal allergies as well. She eats hills soft food (chicken and rice melody) , and instinct raw chicken dry to keep her teeth Healthy. We give her vitamin e with the soft food along with with a probiotic. Flax oil was not a desirable flavor for her. We have cat pheromones Tons of cat trees, shelves and toys to keep her active. We use pretty litter, changed all her dishes to stainless steel or ceramic.. Vacuum and dust often, and give her time each day in her cat tent outside. Otherwise indoor only kitty. However she is still not living a comfortable life and itchy and flaky. Topical treatments I think help a tiny bit, but not taking the problem away. She will lick it all off unless we put a come on her. Recently she started having impacted anal glands. She had to have them exspressed twice in June=(. We have been to multiple vets, and no one can give us any solution. Her blood work is normal. Next step will be allergy testing, but takes months. I can't imagine at 7 years old this is the way her entire life will be. It's heart breaking we cannot help her live more comfortably. Do you have any suggestions or heard of a cat allergic to so many things? How can we give her a comfortable life without drugs? Or maybe someone reading this will have a suggestion based on their experience?
@Sandra Day My heart hurts for you and your sweet kitty cat.😭 I hope as of my reading this comment you have found some relief. I have a similar (but not quite as sensitive) IBD kitty cat who also has allergies to many, many foods and environmental allergens. 😭😭😭 Bottom line is their IMMUNE system is OFF and hyper-active in many ways. Addressing the myriad of symptoms requires ensuring that their GUT is healthy!!! BOVINE COLOSTRUM will help rebuild that one-cell deep epithelial lining in their intestines to function as designed as a BARRIER for proteins that are then misidentified as foreign bodies to be attacked starting the cascade of allergic reaction. Also bone broth is helpful for same function of repairing the gut integrity but colostrum works outside the gut ALSO. GOËTTSCHE LABS BOVINE COLOSTRUM POWDER is excellent in my opinion. I make a slightly runny paste with about 1 T powder to about 2 oz pure water and my cat LOVES it! It does NOT cause the negative effects that MILK can cause for cats. It can be quite challenging if your kitty has never been introduced to RAW feeding but it is 1000% worth the sometimes super SLOW PROCESS of encouraging them to acquire a taste for it! Cooking WILL DENATURE ALL PROTEINS sometimes causing allergies that WOULD NOT EXIST were the proteins intact when ingested. Some cats will take to raw right off the bat but others can take years or never.😭 NEVER, EVER starve your kitty thinking it will force them to eat raw. All you can do is SLOWLY OFFER it and try SEVERAL different meats along with their regular diet and hope they can make the transition. Changing to raw was THE most beneficial change I made to help my beautiful, suffering fur-baby but even so, his health challenges still have to be managed. I know how it hurts to not have the solutions that can make their lives happy and carefree and enjoyable and to have to wonder constantly if putting them to sleep would be the most loving thing you could possibly do. That's a REALLY lousy decision to have to make and I sincerely hope you get improvements that put that question FAR, FAR AWAY from you and your fur baby! God bless you for caring so lovingly for one of His creation! 💗💗💗
I make chicken heart smoothies with warm water in my magic bullet (plus bit of liver about 1/5th of hearts). The hearts are high in essential taurine, are considered muscle meat, while the liver is organ meat somuch less is used. Max is 6-7 hearts per day so it doesnt exceed their RDI for sodium. The cats get the soupy mixlightly warmed in the evening as a treat. They just lap it up and lick their plates clean
Try limited ingredient diet green pea and duck.. my cat had some kind of IBS allergy and that was the only food he was normal with. chicken has been a newer known allergy for cats, as all the food is chicken based mostly.
Thank you for the recommendations. My cat is a new mom and has 3 kittens that are 4 weeks old today. She has scratched around her ears and neck and made them raw. I have tried everything. I even put the nail caps on her nails. But with knowing she is nursing I can't put any medication on her that the kittens might lick off her. It's been a struggle but most importantly I want to not only heal her wounds but I want to stop what ever is going on with her allergies. So I will try some of these
could you PLEASE make a video about Feline Hyperesthesia?? Not much people know about this and the first thing vets try to do is get your cat on heavy depression meds and stuff like that... please help!!
Thank you doc! I'll be trying that coconut oil/licorice root cream in conjunction with some fish oil supplements on one of my recently arrived stray-now-stay kitties who has inflamed skin.
My cat literally rips all of his hair off & makes himself bleed if he doesnt have a cone on. I spent so much money at the vets for us to Never be able to figure out a solution to this or even find out what the problem is, i did some digging and i think he has cat dermatitis, which never goes away. he has been living with a cone on for 2 years now i do have a body suit so he doesnt have to stay in cone but he just rips out the fur he can reach when thats on, so instead of his stomach or back he will rip the hair out of his legs and scratch all the hair off the top of his head n it bleeds a lot so i have to cut his nails. and I feel so bad cuz he looks sad. N uncomfortable and we cannot stop him from ripping his hair out. And its not anxiety or nervous things becuz hes friendly and doesnt hide from nothing or no one. Hes not a nervous cat.... We are stumped n i feel bad for him but id never give him to someone else cuz they'd just give up on him. I wish i knew someone who could fix him cuz ive tried for 2 years n still cant figure it out. Its sad to see. He is such a happy cat never scratches never bites. Sweetest thing ever but has to be in a come all the time 😢
On your blog post about "healing with nettle" the dosage is listed at 25mg per 10lbs twice daily. This video says 1mg/10 lbs twice daily. That is a big difference. Which is correct?
Thank you for your informative videos. I love that you show instructions with your own cats. My kitty has been itching by her ear a lot and cut herself. Ill be trying out the coconut oil for her ears and as a cream. Thanks again for all the advice, your cats are so cute! 🐾🐈
Hi my Savanna has developed an allergy since moving into our 5th wheel. I have taken her to the vet. He treated her for eye infection with steroid cream too both her eyes. When I took her to the doctor, it was her right eye that was watering a lot. His instructions was to put the cream in both eyes. Then her left, I got really bad. I took her back this morning and he said it’s not an infection. It must be an allergy. I don’t know what to do. I thought she was tricking me because her eyes will be wide open and then when she realizes I’m looking at her, she will squint her left eye . It’s crazy, but she does have drainage.
My cat had the same problem with right eye, it was watering a lot. His Vet said it was Herpes from dust. He recommended that i take a piece of paper towel and soak it in warm water and press it over hi eyelid , when it gets cold ; repeat the procedure again spit for about two minutes every day: Hiis ok for a couple days. It will help and bring some relief. No more tears for three days . ! Please repite whenever necessary. No eye drops no creams necessary. Good luck 👍
I love your videos, and have been searching for one that is specifically for natural remedy's for cat asthma. My 2 1/2 year old female cat, Marley, has asthma and right now I have her on Jackson Galaxy Easy Breather and Lysine. I've tried other remedies as well. I have two air purifiers in the house, which I highly recommend to anyone who have pets with allergies, and I have an inhaler for her when she is having asthma attacks. I took her to a vet the first time Marley had an asthma attack, and she put Marley on steroids. After about 3 days on the steroids, I had to rush her back to the vet, and vet said to stop the steroids. I thought Marley was going to die at that point. Steroids have long term side effects and do not want to give them to her again. Marley's asthma seems to be from outdoor allergens such as pollen. She is an indoor cat only but still does have attacks once in a while mostly in late spring, summer and fall. She is having the asthma coughing right now from sneaking out on screened-in back porch two days ago. So afraid she is going to go into a full-blown asthma attack again. Her cough is gradually getting worse.
Hi Linda, Please look up "Quercetin and asthma". There are combos on the market that contains bromalain enzyme and Quercetin that may help your pet. Another thing that may possibly help reduce asthma attacks is the thymus glandular. It seems to help tone down immune reactions in some people who have hypersensitivities to environmental triggers.
I purchased Stinging Neetle drops from local health food store. I take them as a natural antioxidant. I will try giving a couple of drops to my cats also.
We need to be questioning - what on Earth is causing our pets to have so many allergic problems!!?? Coughing, scratching, itching, poor coat, ... Is it environmental, or the foods we feed them, or what? I do animal rescue and see all kinds of issues that seem to be allergic in nature. I wonder if horses and other farm animals are having the same distress? Wildlife? ~ Murray lucked out when he ended up with you Dr Jones.
Vaccines. When I was a kid we never took our animals for vaccinations and they lived over 20 years. Now that I vaccinated them all they never make it past 12 years. These animals are on big pharma like adults, go figure!
Dr. Andrew Jones, THANK YOU SO MUCH for this video🙏🏻☺️. I am going to try these top natural treatments right away for my little fur baby vs having her on continuous medication from the vet she was on for two weeks😑. Want her to be her happy playful self again, her paws and nails also seem to be bugging her, hoping this will help with that as well (if you have any recommendations for that pls let me know). Thanks again for your help and also for the compassion you have for all animals and for sharing only natural remedies, you are awesome❤️🐾🐾. Love your cute little fur babies, too!!😍😍🐾🐾
Hiii so i just found out about your channel and I'm a bit lost :( my first cat Simba is getting very skinny and losing small (very small not how you showed in the intro luckily) patches of hair and he scratches himself to the int where he is slightly bleeding. He also licks himself for a very long time. He is allergic to flea saliva and in our last house (we moved about an year ago, but our house now has carpet so we should move again) the person who sold us the house didn't tell us that it has a flea infestation so now my cat is suffering a lot :( he also vomits like a couple times every week (luckily he's starting to stop now which is good though :) ) We have tried cutting the bottom part off a sock and using the rest around his neck because that was where it was the worst for him, and it worked pretty well but we took it off. We have two other cats and one dog and none of them are allergic and i haven't seen a flea on them in a very long time but we still are trying to resolve them too. It breaks my heart to see him like this I'm really sorry but i would be so happy if there was anything you could do :(
Really pleased I found your page. My cat who is a rescue is itching although the best way for me to describe it is it’s a few patches over her body. She has no fur missing, her coat is beautiful & shiny. All up to date with all her flea and worm treatments. She has been to the vets and they are wanting to do bloods, skin scrape on her to see if she has a fungal or bacterial infection which I find hard to believe as her coat is beautiful and no fur missing, surely that would be the case . They said if it all came back clear they would put it down to allergies. My little girl was found abandoned as a kitten and dumped in oil. Could her being dumped in oil be the cause of her problems? Every time I bring this up with my vet she dismisses it and just wants me to go ahead with the skin scrape? Thank you
Hi love your videos! I just subscribed recently and it is so nice of you to make these videos for us! Can you please make a video on your opinion on bladder blockages in cats and how to prevent it? My cat recently had to be put down due to recurring bladder blockages and after several vet visits the vet decided he had to be out down as he was dying. I am so sad & heart broken over this and I have 3 remaining cats and I would appreciate any advice you have on bladder blockages in cats. Thank you! 💕
My male cat had bladder blockage and I was lucky enough to see what was going on. I took him immediately to the vet as they can die from this. They suggested a different kibble that was to reduce this issue...it worked, but in doing so he became diabetic. I researched diet changes because I wasn't willing to give him daily shots. I have him now eating raw food as I continued to search out the best recipe. It's a lot of work, but was well worth it. It has been 6yrs now and he has lost his weight and doing fine. Just recently he has been doing the pulling of hair out of his back and paws. I got him an antiseptic shampoo and that seems to help for a short period of time. I will try all the other methods mentioned above. Thanks Dr. Jones......I've spoke to you in the past about my dog and you gave me great advice.
When the same happened to my cat the vet said he sadly fit the bill of almost every predisposition she noticed: indoor, male, orange, heavier cat. Filtered water and ample hydration (I add water to my cats food now) and Liquid Vet makes a urinary track support supplement you can find at Walmart, they are a wonderful small USA business and it has worked for my cat. As well as their glucosamine for my dogs hips and joints. As well as learning their psychology and how they speak to your through body language can aid in your preventative care
Murray is such a good cat. I've got six East End moggies - 2 of them have developed an allergy to something and I'm risking life and limb trying to do something about it - just had one of them stick their claws right in me because I tried to use some Leucillin on her. Why is it that US cats are so much sweeter than Brit cats. Just don't understand it sometimes see videos of Americans washing their cats - do that to a British cat you will end up in A&E.
Dr Andrew's, please help !❤ For the TOPICAL. There's not hair loss, so how can I put it on?? They Itch, and it is in fact allergies Their ears Itch. No sweet odor, no debris. Suffering
My baby is currently suffering a skin allergy and I have no idea if it’s dust, the litter sand, the food, one of my skin products. I took her to the vet and she’s being treated. But I haven’t seen any changes. She keeps scratching and goshh I just want her to be okay. Update: my baby is allergic to dust :( and the treatment to help her costs around 1200 dollars 😞 which I cannot currently pay at the moment.
Try adding some drops of tea tree oil and cedar oil to a spray bottle and mist through the air and fabric surfaces, that has helped us! Also something that can boost their system and help deal with immune system response is lysine if you haven’t tried it works absolute wonders! We used this with all our shelter cats to boost their system during stressful shelter life and to keep them from passing around kennel cough.
My cat licks uncontrollably when you touch anywhere from the base of her tail to the bottom of her shoulder blades. Mostly people posting about this think it's cute or funny but it really does seem like a cat is in some kind of distress when they're going through this. Is this an allergic reaction? I'm not sure how to approach treating this
Thank you so much for this video. My cat has an allergy & vet said it is due to pollen. Gave her a steroid & she stopped itching for a while but it weakened her immune system & made her sick plus an eye infection. The shot finally wore off & she healed, but she is back to itching again😡 so i will try these remedies. Which should i try 1st? She has a few places without hair but skin is intact.
Hi Murray! I'm a Murray too...😊 my boy Sid Vicious has dermatitis and has licked a spot on the back of his leg bald. It looks painful! Hopefully one of these remedies will bring him relief. I think he has allergies due to my apartment. The cat that lived here before him had the same issues. I am looking into moving, but in the meantime nothing I've tried so far has helped. The vet thought it was fleas, but after getting flea medicine, he still has issues. The anti itch meds haven't helped either. Sorry for being long winded...but thank you for these alternative remedies!!
Food allergies. Go raw. I'm not kidding. Mine have pus filled lymph nodes. It's the damn food. I feed 9 lives dry mixed with canned. I feed other meats I cook myself every week but it's not enough.
@@VeterinarySecrets Why don't you consider telling the truth rather than offering stopgap crap that will never cure the issue which is the pet food? We all must go raw meat and you know it. How much you being paid?

back to the issue of vets. We all know lots of people buy and use lactated ringer for their cats, mostly for kidney troubles. So what do you think about vets buying lactated ringer for around $5.00 a bag and then jacking up the price to $20 or even $30 a bag? I say its very unethical to jack up the price like that on something that people really need.
I am in the UK. We have canned food and sachets. I have met 4 people who lost their cats to cancer, and all gave them canned food. I read that the bisphenol lining on the tins is carcinogenic to cats, so I only buy cat food in sachets. I would be grateful for your opinion if possible.
I would think it’s more likely the vaccines are being given. All four cats of mine that were vaccinated died of cancer. Since I stopped vaccinating my second batch of cats after the first ones died they lived to be old and none had cancer
Please, I need some advice. We have a male Turkish van cat, we adopted him in 2018 and he had no health issues at all. We moved into a new apartment in 2020 in the same complex, that year, he developed a spot about 2 to 3 inches above his tail. The spot had a little redness, and what would look like hives in a human. Our cat had this issue for a couple of months, and it only stayed in one spot . The spot cleared up after using a topical, animatrix? I believe it was called. The spot then went away for about a year and a half and came back . we now have him in a recovery suit again so he doesn’t lick the spot raw. The weird thing is he’s not constantly going at it and it doesn’t look like it’s spreading or any kind of ringworm or bacterial. Does this sound relatively familiar at all?
You state that the stinging nettle should be given at 1mg per lb of body weight. If your kitty is near 20lbs, she wouldn’t be taking 200 mg of the freeze dried nettle!!! 🤔Maybe I missed a piece of info in there??? Thank you for your video and the valuable info. 😁
Aloha Dr. Jones do you have a video on Feline Hyperesthesia? I just found out that that is what's been going on with my old man and I would love to hear some natural solutions. I'm going to get some CBD for now.
THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO!!!!!. My one cat has been on medrol/methylprednisolone 4mg off and on her whole life. She is now 12 years old.I know these meds will kill her liver over time. My vet wants money, not a better solution to controlling her itching. Would you think that starting with the coconut oil and tincture would help? She has a very sensitive tummy also. We have tried different foods, air purifiers, you name it. Please help. Thank you.
My vet immediately put my 16 year old cat on Prednisolone, but I read that they can destroy the liver, so I took her off them. I am going to try these methods. She already has thyroid disease, but as you say, the vets just want your money. The appointment and the meds cost me $272.00, and it was not worth claiming the insurance, as I have a high premium, so it was easier to just pay up. The insurance however, is a good thing because she did get attacked by a fox which cost over $7,500 and they paid up for the MRI and surgery. But why give them a toxic medication when you can follow this vet's advice? I hope your cat is doing well. Please check all the other alternatives. There are so many online, and the Kitty School replies to your questions.
Raw food These foods are killing our pets in many ways. Mine have a black discharge in ears and it is not ear mites because I have a microscope to check plus not like coffee grounds at all. Many cat owners complaining of these and as usual vets no help whatsoever. It is the food. I know it. Just like it destroys our health.
I’m not sure if you miss spoke on the stinging nettle you said about a milligram a pound and Murray is 20 pounds and you said 200 mg wouldn’t it be 20 mg
