The best way to hide your cams that I've found is use a glue gun and cover your camera with local tree bark and moss. Use a lot to break up the squareness of the camera.

I just put up a sign that reads "Nothing to see here...". Seriously, I also insert limbs off my pine and spruce trees, tucking into the strapping. But they're not too close to the lens, else I'm constantly setting off the camera in the wind. If it's there long enough, the deer in my neck of the woods (about twenty minutes north of Lansing, MI) tend to ignore it anyway.

I really like the Paracord idea... Most of the time, when I find somebody's camera out on state land, I see the strap first... Big, black, horizontal line... It doesn't fit in with the rest of the background. Good tip!!!

If you need to go in the woods how do you mount it up high and what’s the highest? I’ve got a battery and solar panel so it’s a large setup.

Getting ready to mount mine, but am concerned about squirrels gnawing on the SP power cable - despite being secured around the tree.

I haven't mounted my camera yet, but I'm wondering about the height, and angling the camera down to capture animals closer to the mounting tree. I've had several other trail cams, and had tendency to mount too high, capturing deer head, and not much else. I guess it's a trade-off...

I like my cameras a bit higher. High enough i can just reach it for card changes etc. I'm 6'3" so i would say at the 7-7 1/2 foot height. Or near a stump etc.. i can stand on to get a bit higher. I have large private land and I'm more concerned about trespassing hunters killing the animals on my land i bought the land to hunt
