This is your guide for using a quetzal as a skybase on pvp servers. This is a great way to stay hidden in the sky if you do it right. This is how to build a nice quetzal platform build and where to put your quetzal in order to reduce your chances of getting found while keeping your loot nice and hidden. I had a sky base for just over two years, on an official rag server. Best ark years I had, but sadly with the baby glitch and them falling off the platform it was meant to be. I was hatching Sinos and they’re so dam tiny and I just couldn’t catch them. I went down to grab the babies from the edge of the water and bam two dudes on lightning wyverns. They saw me come down and sadly the gold mine was gone 😭

hello first a good video :) I copied it and am satisfied with it, only have 1 problem. When I get babies out of the incubator, they just get off the quetz relatively quickly before I can claim them. Do you have an idea how I can fix the problem?

Ah ya I've seen that problem You could try to enclose the area around incubator a bit with structures or railings or whatever Also helps to have a maewing since you can ride it and press C (on pc) to claim all of them quickly

For you wich map is the better for live in sky base ?

Best for staying hidden I'd say Extinction, Ragnarok, Lost Island, Crystal Isles, or Genesis 1. From there it's just a matter of preference. I like Genesis 1, Extinction, and Crystal since it's not hard to get ele on those maps.

@@HeresJonny929 and in gen one it's really hard to find a quetzal base because there is almost no way to fly, just the tek suit and the astrodelphis

@@donovandrs4468 True. It's a good map for sure. But it is easy to get ele on gen1 so people can search with astros pretty easily unforunately.

Is there a larger quetz platform saddle? When you put the 2 beds, it seems there's still a little room between. The foundations go in fairly easily in your video. I can't get the rear 2 foundations to fit. Maybe the quetz needs to stop breathing. Does anyone have a HUGE chloroform rag?

Have you tried doing it while the quetz is in the air? Try practicing in singleplayer if you're not already.

@@HeresJonny929 I feel like the platform is narrower than in your video. I can't get 2 foundations wide even in the air, and the 2 beds don't seem to get that gap.

Why not a industrial forge? A question: quetzl lose energy on sky? He needs recovery energy like another terrifier dinos?

Sorry, didn't mention in the video But you can't place an indy forge, transmitter, or turrets, and some other structures on a quetz. They do lose energy/stamina while there is a survivor or any dinos on the quetz. But it doesn't matter much if it runs out of stamina since as long as it's overweight it won't start flying down to try to land

Nice video. I had a sky quetz for a long time, Basically I maxed out until I started to breed for scouting and bossfights, already had alpha center, beta rockwell and was hatching deinos for valguero dragon. Now I had this issue where once an egg pops out from the incubator, the neutral baby wobble from side to side off the platform and if I wasn't fast enough to claim it it ended up falling off the quetzal. Luckily maewings solved this issue quite well. My question is. Have you found yourself dealing with the same thing? Have you figured out a way to solve it? I'm looking foward to start palying again and I'm quite sure this is the way to go, so I'm trying to solve this issue beforehand.

Can you explain me how works the stamina wheb you walk on the quetz ?

Stamina decreases as long as you're on the quetz. If theres just tames on the quetz then stamina stays the same and doesn't go up or down

Man, i want begin opn a smalltribes pvp server solo. What map is better to raid a small base, dinos to change for a skybase on a quetzal?

Raiding small bases is the best on Genesis 2 since everyone is super rich very quickly on Gen2. But living on a quetzal on Gen2 is not a good idea since everyone can find you easily and raid you since they have tek suits

Have to snap the other hatchframes before corners. Amd make sure theyre the snap points that are farthest away from the foundations. Look closely at the build and it should work

It can stay airborne forever if it's overweight If it's not overweight it will start landing going down when it runs out of stamina. It drains stamina as long as you are on top of it.

Interesting is it flying in the area while you're building it? and do you have any other structures structures placed besides hatches?

@@torresturbo hmm maybe it's the snap points your hstchframes snapped to. They need to be snapped to the farthest snap points from the foundations and eachother (can't overlap at all either)

@@HeresJonny929 Babies so mashing on quetzal when they are on it and it is eroded into quetzal foundation, so when it energy is exhausted, quetzal will be able to sit on the babies and should consider secondary damage detected by the enemy

Man do you know that ppl use bot on astrodelphis to find any living tamed creature and player even buried dinos...same as metal structures heavies etc. MAKING A QUETZ BASE IS POINTLESS in this days...sad but true

Ya I know people are scouting with astrodelphis and ESP cheats If we're being real.. it's almost impossible to hide anything for longer than a week or so because of cheaters
