Everyone: (trying to get across the map on wyverns and griffin’s) Meanwhile me on a terror bird about to jump off the highest mountain: “We soar at dawn bitches…”
@@memerminecraft3226 I played with a rock drake on scorched and when invisible those wyverns will agro on you regardless if your invisible or not. Same as the summoners if their light runs over your invisible rock drake, it aggros and then proceeds to spawn in creatures with the intent to kill.
@@memerminecraft3226 well I dont know how they aggro'd on me when I was invisible on a rock drake, I know I didnt steal an egg and hit any of them and they attacked me as if I wasn't invisible.
Argys totally deserve spot one, speed is the only weakness they have (albeit a bad one, they are too slow. They make me happy flyers can still be leveled in speed on mobile)
I love the maewing. So easy to tame, and it uses the rockdrakes glide but better. It can help raise babies too, even reapers. No pheromones needed just put reaper babies in it's saddle
Glad so many people are on board with the Argie. You can get one without a Pteranadon or other flier, though it's much more of a pain to do so. Now that you can level movement speed, it's just a great mount all around. You can even breed up many different Argies for their different strengths. Want a travel mount? Put all your points in Stam/speed. Want a alpha farm? Life, damage, stam. Want a farming crew.. weight and speed. (remember u don't need Stamina when you aren't riding them. Just take 3 of them, load them up with materials, and then use your Pteranadon and they should keep up easily). Plus some cool color schemes make some of the nicest visuals in the game.
Plus you can use them to kill the desert titan. The argies are my go to for unlocking the replicator on extinction, since they’re fairly easy to tame and breed.
I love poison wyverns more than any other flyer, poison blast is good for pvp assuming no tek suit or hazmat. For pve it's perfect for killing off osds in ext and element veins. I just adore the dmg on the poison blast, a bit glitchy but it deals a big punch once hit and since u can spam it, everything just dies lol
I honestly think Maewing personally is number one. It’s such a versatile creature being able to be a jack of all trades. Literally the only downside to it is that it doesn’t do much damage, but I can just glide away at the speed of sound if something tries to attack me
And don't forget, the Argie available on every map as well. The Astrodelphus takes element to tame efficiently and until you meet the requirements for the saddle you are stuck hoping to get one from the supply drops or missions.
@@MrMagyar5 not that hard to get one from drops, and ele is a joke on that map considering you can get 100s of it minutes after spawn if space is set to it
@@MrMagyar5 agreed. Argie is a lot easier to find and tame in pretty much every way, shape and form. Basically a must have for Pve player and still great for PvP. Astrodelphis is definitely more PvP oriented with the stupid amount of damage it can put out and is really fast and manoeuvrable so it’s almost impossible to hit aside from turrets which will shred it.
so happy maewing made the list, my only go to tame right now for both scouting and resource gathering especially when coupled with a mining drill to give it reduced carry wait on resources. i actually had a tribe setup outside my base and wouldve seen me returning on any other tame i was easily able to divert and preform hit and run greifing solo vs this 4 man tribe on wyvs able to hit them and reposition before they could pin point my location each time
I 100% agree that the Argentavis is my most valuable flyer out there as well as the fact that It and the Pteranodon are found in most of the Ark maps while the other flying creatures r very limited to specific maps
This list is highly agreeable but I would replace void wyrm with a lightning wyvern of a tape. The only reason I would take void wyrm off the list is because it basically useless on PvE in its breath attack and I’ve noticed it gains very little stamina and health when leveled.
Wyverns are usually my first choice these days, but the argy will always have a special place in my heart, a well deserved win......still carry a pocket argy wherever I go to this day though.
Happy to see the Tropeo in the featured suggestions at least. And I have to agree that even though there are flyers with more power/abilities, the Argy is still the most versatile creature in the game.
@@andrejhofer2007 based on question stated, therizino. based on title of video which is top 10 flyers. not most versatile. argy is useful early game. then its not ever used again. pteranadon is more valuable.
@@kingcaedo7564 Ok maybe Argy isn't the most versatile tame in the game. It is the most versatile flyer in the game tho. You can have it be a war mount by levelling up HP and damage, a beast of burden with weight, a long distance flyer with stamina. Or you can combine the stats for extra versatility. Pteranodon is very fast, but it has low health, stam and weight, so it's only really good for short distance flying, plus it can only pick up a few creatures (dodo, lystro, humans, dilos etc) so that statement is actual bullshit
Lol - on extinction as well there's a small stream in the snowdome. Hit box is higher than the water level meaning coelecabth and saver tooth salmon just fly in it.
In my first “play through” I used to use the Quetzal for picking up stuff and throwing it into a taming pool where I would be standing on top and darting it to sleep. That was a heck of a long time ago.
@Rassclark I like how you took to the polls and asked our opinion on the top flyers instead of being biased and making the final determination on your own. Eggcelent video.
hey, never knew the Rock Drake was part of this, though I can agree, a great creature for exploration indeed, but not that much of a flyer. Great video as always! Edit: Maybe Top 5 Pack Creatures in Ark Survival Evolved?
I have one rule when I play ark. Trust my argy. If I get knocked off, stunned, knocked out, no matter what,I know Frightful will always protect me. He’s never let me down
The argent is a great flyer, but I wouldn't put it in number 1, my number one would be the lighting wyvern, super fast, it can pick up large creatures, and it's one of the most powerful things you can tame
@@PShrekky fr, you can legit imprint and pump points into weight for a wyvern for farming. Thats what i did befire the option to allow flier speed upgrade was added and fixed. Now i use quetz again with 450% movement
I wasn't surprised the Argy was #1. My favorite flyer to this day, I remember my first one that sadly died. I was new to ark and I didn't have the friends, resources, or knowledge to raid. So the way I would do it was use the explosive trap on a wall and headbutt my argy through it. Fun times :(.
All the og flyers are all great The tapejara is great for it's Tek saddle and for good player transport in multiplayer the pteranadon is good speed and is usually your first flyer the pelagornis is good for traveling on the edge of the map on the ocean as on water it goes the same speed as a raft and the quetzal is good for carrying a lot of stuff from one base to another
Astrodelphis is the best on genesis 2, but also tropeognathus for crystal isles, Griffin on Ragnarok and Voidwyrm and Snow Owl on PvP, the most versatile on all maps is the Argentavis!
Fun tip for killing wyverns with argies. If you circle with the wyvern, it can’t hit you but you can hit its wing as it flaps. It takes a while with even a low level wyvern and is not feasible with multiple but can help you safely get those eggs Note that this was done with 100% movement speed, if you upgraded your movement speed, may not work the same
Seen previous top 10's videos of yours and they're well put together. The info compiled to them is so much less of what most others seem to make these days, having less info and more filler talk. You get to the point and jump to the next one while making said points easy listening, good on ya. Got the info I needed and a lot more I didn't know I needed to know, thanks, and keep on keepin' on. Cheers 👍
I wish the giant rideable seagull was on the list because they can swim in water not under it they also collect a LOT of fish and they regain stamina on water though I wish it can get a TLC since its kinda useless yes its the best gatherer of fish but that's it it doesn't dive or swim underwater but I don't mind if it doesn't because like I said its good
I honestly feel like pelagornis should’ve been included at about maybe 10 or 9 because it’s the only flyer that at least I know about that can travel on water, land and sky. Water and sky travelling pretty fast with high stamina.
I feel like people are under selling the pelagornis. Although not the best flyer I actually prefer the Pela against the pteranodon although I do get why people don’t use it as much as the pteranodon but it does come with that it is the only rideable flyer that can touch water with the rider not being also comment if you think it would be a good decision to add the ability to dive to the pelagornis as like the rideable version of icthyornis also this is not a debate, FIX ITS FACE!
I like to imagine there's a sky base tribe out there that when they go on raids they play flight of the Valkyries, use argies or pts as fighters and quetz as bombers
I love tapejara too at least I'm not alone :) It's the most mobile flying creature, fast, good weight, able to transport 4 people.... I never understood why people don't use them.
Excellent review and ranking good sir. I think the community has definitely chosen wisely. top two truly are just very hard to beat and long been my personal favorites as getting just one of them instantly becomes a milestone for the development of my tribe/base.
Really thought it wouldn't be argentavis in first I tamed one yesterday I thought quetzl or griffin was better but argentavis has such high stamina and weight carrying insanely good flyer
While I'll agree with the griffin being fairly high up the list and to be honest its 1 of my favourite ark creatures the sheer lack of saddle/armour really does knock it down a few more steps in my opinion , the snow owl is probably marginally better due to the things it can do , id also would of put the Quetz a lot higher up , glad it wasn't a list of wyverns tho as i dont think any of them apart from the standard tropical would have made my top 10 and that's only due to how easy they are to tame
After Fjordur this list needs an update. Desmodus is the Swiss Army knife of all flyers: You can use weapons from its saddle Most agile flyer Can latch to walls Can fly in caves Turns invisible Has night vision Has sonic screech Can pick up creatures Can heal itself with blood packs or uses life drain Harvests blood packs to be used as medicine or the OP sanguine elixir Really good stamina
I'm happy to see griffins on here. Love them. Though blood wyverns didn't make the list at least tropical did. Also glad to see maewings on there and argys.
Honestly I feel as if the Trope should of been higher especially since I've pvped with them and have been known the completely Reck people on basically every mounted flier especially Griffins. One time fought 2 Griffins on a trope and almost lost bust still won. Does help when they do 2k damage to almost anydino with no saddles, very useful when fighting Griff's and wyverns.
I'm a ark noob and, I don't follow the community much, and never even made it pass the island. So when I saw all the other flyers, I didn't think my favorite bird Arge was going to be 1st place lol.
Snow owl is what I think is the best. Great speed good for finding dinos to tame or just to make sure it's safe to land. Plus the colors on them just look amazing.
@@themfdon0308 They are way faster than pts if you can use them correctly and make for a great PvP fighter as well. You don't have to be tanky to be good at those things.
I feel that the the tapajara deserved to be somewhere in the top 5. It has great base weight, stamina and health and for builders and explorers and tamers, it can fly backwards, sideways and vertically and you never have to land on the ground, you can land on walls and even upside down to recover stamina and you can shoot while perched upside down. Against wyverns, Griffins and Argy's, you can side strafe away from their attacks while a friend in the front seat attacks with ease.
I love the snow owl. It's an amazing scout with thermal, instant fertilizer, freezing dive bomb, Healing, and a great all rounder in stats. I have a few imprinted owls and I just never tire of them. I'm a little sad sinomacrops didn't make the cut as it does contribute to the flyer dino paradigm allowing for a jetpack/glider/parachute all in 1 with 75% inventory weight reduction compared to most which only have 50%. It's also a bug killer so no bug spray anymore.
really snow owl is the only one on this list i use much, i guess maewing i use for raising but not really a flyer, and rock drake i use for the one cave on ab
I honestly would rank them all at the same, with the two exceptions of the Tropeo and Drake. Those two take my top spot. Delphis and cetus are at the bottom however, as they are completely untameable without ascension (exclusively on Gen1 for the whale) and their TEK saddle requirements put them off. I don’t know why they didn’t make them just rideable without a saddle or a non-TEK saddle.
@@tinersee the Delphis is only broken because of its saddle. If they made a metal or hide saddle for either, they wouldn’t have their main draws. Delphi’s would not have its lasers or jet mode, and the whale wouldn’t have its bombs and turrets.
Fun fact : There are only 11 true flyers according to the wiki. And 1 is the Desert Titan. You can literally fill a video just listing flyers without gliders, and considering one is the pela, gliders definitely need included
Exactly. More damage and healing off of hurting enemies. It doesn't get the speed boost but the boost isn't that significant, its not that much faster, and you will probably not save any time from going point A to B with it anyway unless a straight river goes almost the entire way there, otherwise the time it takes you to change course or altitude undoes the time tje extra speed wins you because with blood one you would just fly in a straight line the entire time without altitude or course changes to touch water
I think the griffin is best because you can shoot off its back and get a temporary speed boost, and it's also pretty fast averagely and if you want to kill a Dino that's really strong that's near your base, get your friend to ride on the back of the griffin and then camp where the Dino is and spam tranq or normal deadly arrows (it depends on if you want to tame it or not) and then its either yours or its dead! and when you first tame it's already a tank and it has SO MUCH STAM and if you want to kill some Dinosaurs, just pick up your strongest argentavis and make it aggressive and drop it like it's hot on your enemy and/or target. i think the griffin is the best for tames aswell. 1. get your friend to ride on the back of your griffin then you two can spam tranq arrows at the Dino you want to tame. 2. you can stay on the back of your griffin distracting it and your friend can keep shooting it with tranq arrows. 3. you can lure the Dino you want to be tamed in the trap by flying over it. that is, if the AI is still aggro-ing on you.
I personally love the Tropical Crystal Wyverns. They're the easiest to tame and they have buffs when wet. Though lately I've been flying around on a Blood Crystal Wyvern, their breath attacks can heal them. I just happened upon a high level one, that's all. But the Tropical ones, those are better than Pteranodons when it comes to easy to tame flyers. You just have to stay on their backs and feed them crystals, which are found all over the crystal isles.
my top 10 are 10. griffin: fast and can hold 2 people 9. tapejara: fast and can hold 3 people, also has tek saddle 8. wyvern: fast and strong 7. crystal wyvern: faster and strong 6. archaeopteryx: basically endless flight 5. voidwyrm: fast and strong can easily damage structures 4. tropeognathus: fast and very strong, like a jet 3. astrocetus: giant space whale with cannons and bombs, what more do you need 2. astrodelphis: space dolphin with lasers and a turbo boost 1. quetzal: slow but has extreme health, stamina, weight, can carry loads of creatures, can build a full base on it, can work as a creature or resource transport
