Good overview! Did C2C in January - it was hot. We carried 5.5 litres of water each to start the day not 2 litres. Owing to the hot weather (up to 35 degrees Celcius) and all but empty tanks we met several parties with too little water on the trail. We drank every drop plus a few drinks people gave us. White Elephant in Prevelly (a bit off track) and Gracie's in Gracetown are the two best stops. We did as follows: Day 1: Cape Leeuwin > Hamelin Bay. Day 2: Hamelin Bay > Gracetown. Day 3 Gracetown > Cape Naturaliste. Saw tiger snakes and emus. Was awesome.
Wow Chris, January would have been roasting... I did it the first time around April a few years ago and was carrying 4L water myself back then. This time, being winter I knew it would be ok but still better safe than sorry. So you did the C2C in 3 days...Wow again! Great achievement! 🤩😀
Love this - well done such a good overview. Oh dear I had no idea you couldn't wild camp. Whoops that's pretty much all I did. Such a weird rule considering they let 4W4 vehicles everywhere. OMG yes nothing like the heartbreak of a burger on the mind and then the shop being closed.
Thanks Kate! 😃 Well, the wild camping is a funny one...I am pretty sure it is ok to wildcamp if you leave no trace, but because it is part National Park, they want people to avoid it I guess 🤷♀️
Good preperation is important! And often half the fun! 😁 When you walk you're alone and have your camping gear, you can plan when out and see how much you can handle in a day! 😁 Now I want to see your hike! Groetjes
The path to moses rock was tough going, and lead into Hamlin bay is a huge beach walk, not easy! Also note that Hamlin bay tap water is apparently not drinkable, and the shop closes around 4 or so. Get in a little earlier if stopping here and buy up some bottled water. I would take 3 to 4lts or a little more. Don't underestimate the heat of the day. Oh, if your don't book into contos like I did, you can WiFi hotspot from entry admin block, a pain but can then book online via your phone. Or just say anyway, it's a huge place.
Hey DOri - on night shift atm and working my way through all your videos haha! Thanks so much for all the effort and energy you put into all these videos. So informative!
@@collectingkilometres Do it! 😀😀 My first videos were so awkward hahaha...talking to yourself. Right now, I just imagine telling the story to someone when I am filming. Try it :D
@@DorisHikingAdventures haha! Hrm. Im ok with filming and talking....i just can't press the upload button to put it online. I have 2 recent videos on my Facebook page. Kind of the theme I'm aiming for..... maybe I can slowly.progress from there!!!
No water taps at the carparks/toilets that I went past, apart from the ones in Yallingup, Gracetown, Hamelin Bay and Prevelly. But they are sort of in town. Are you planning on doing it soon?
@@DorisHikingAdventures Hi Dori. Thank you. Yes, with fire risk being so high on the Bibbulmun track, I am going to be walking the Cape to Cape. Regards Clive
Hi Larry, in my opinion it will be too hot. I would suggest April earliest. Reason is there is no shade along the track, so you would be constantly exposed 🥵
I hope you get a chance to do it! 😃 It can be challenging, but it is such a well worth experience. Especially because there is not that many people on the trail :D
