My technique is a little different but still effective. Just line up for a standard 80 yard fairway shot from the green. Then grab your lob wedge. Next take an out of control swing and hit the middle of the ball with the leading edge of the lob wedge. Then sit back and watch your stinger screaming 6 feet off the ground and directly into the trees 175 yards past the green.

The Stinger tips are actually very useful if you are suffering from chunking - I try and hit a stinger with every iron shot and it helps!

Maaaan, I watched this video last night and took your tips to the range today. Absolute game changer for me. Also, helped my normal iron shots, especially 3i and 4i, after hitting a few somewhat decent stingers. Can't wait to use this on the course to get myself out of all those trees I usually end up in haha! Appreciate it Zac!

That ball flight is one of the coolest things in the world and I love watching it! It never gets old. I've only been successful hitting one so far. 2 iron from about 250, up hill and it stayed about 2 feet off the ground until it crested and I lost sight. Not gonna lie, I felt like a badass lol.

I thought covering the ball referred to keeping your chest on top of the ball. If I rotate my chest to the left what am I covering the ball with? The club face?

Great video as usual, always enjoy watching them. Can you tell us how to draw or fade a stinger ? Also what is the difference in distance when hitting a stinger vs a normal 4 iron stock shot ? Thanks for your help.

If you’re a really good ball striker then the regular 4 iron will have a pretty high ball flight. If you don’t see much of a difference right now, it would help to work on your swing speed. Us amateurs struggle to get long irons in the air bc the slower swing speed

I’m pretty young and I do a basic set up. It helps if I have a down hill lie and I hit down on it. I use my hips to rotate through the ball and get it to ride the fairway. It’s a really satisfying shot. I just posted one

The only other thing I’ve found that helps (excuse my terminology I am new to this) is move the handle forward, in front of the ball and inline with my left thigh, that gives it a nice amount of backspin.

How does the ball react when it hits the green? My 5i & 4i (don’t hit greens with these clubs regularly) don’t have that much bite..will this lower trajectory have less bite, potentially roll more?

I have no idea why but I always hit a very low trajectory ball flight with my sim 3 wood. Usually I play the ball closer to my left arm pit (I’m right handed). It’s helpful bc it lets me get under trees but I genuinely have no idea why this happensz

Watched the how to more than once to remind myself on what to do used it twice this past week, I'm 68 hit my 2 iron 240 yards about 15 feet off the the ground, second one was a 2 iron sliced around a stand of trees and landed about a yard from the green. Thanks for the help

Dumb question, does hitting a saucy stinger, take away yardage? Or do you play your normal yardage with the club?

carry's a bit less, rolls a whole lot more...brings a lot of ground into play so has to be treated like a chip and run or something...

Less carry but if the ground conditions are firm it will roll much further than a normal shot
