Looking to learn how to hit for power in baseball? One of the most important skills for a baseball player to develop is the ability to hit for power. While hitting for average and getting on base are essential parts of having a successful baseball career, being able to hit the ball over the fence can help you rise to the next level in your game. In this video, I share with you ways you can develop more power and how you can learn how to hit for home runs in baseball.
Hitting for power in baseball is a technique that can be learned by all players. Learn how to hit for power in baseball with my step-by-step instructions on how to hit a baseball further, faster and with more control. No matter if you play baseball recreationally or competitively, hitting more home runs is the key to becoming a better hitter.
If you want to be an above average player, you need to hit for power. Guys who can hit for power don't just stand out as ball players, they get noticed by college coaches, pro scouts, and people like me- former MLB players who scour high school, travel baseball, and college ball looking for talent.

Great information Jermaine! I had my daughter practice the UCLA method in the cage to catch up to some fast softball pitchers she was struggling. She had a couple hits and tied the game w a bases loaded double! She told me after the game the technique worked!

Great video and just a small sample of all the amazing baseball content here. My son just started using positive visualization and mantra. Went 3 for 3 in his opening game, he smiled and said the ball did look like it was in slow motion 😀

I like the focus on the mental side. I pretty much like to pull the ball from the left side, although I am good opposite field hitter. I really enjoy working on mechanics.

I have commented before but anyway I went out today with my fast pitch pitching machine I have been off for a while due to cold weather here in Reno ok at first just taking half swings but at the end I quit.on 2 swings one was down.and in I cranked that for a home run the other was a low rise ball that came in on me I beat it to the punch and hammered out a double ok the point I want to make i.was top hand all the way ok I have watched your stuff and the Barry Bonds drills now when Jenny Finch was striking out all those guys he kept saying top hand I found that to be true softball comes in up anyway and my machine probably harder somewhat more than Jenny Finch so he I believe for me anyway he was exactly correct

It's interesting Barry Larkin told you this because he wasn't a home run hitter...I think encouraging kids to hit homeruns has slowed the game down ..Less action on the bases and the stolen base is practically gone away...Guys like Michael Brantley and Tim Anderson prove singles and doubles are still effective
@JermaineCurtis55
@JermaineCurtis55 2 года назад
I agree with you. It has slowed the game down a bit. However, everything in life evolves. Men used to wear bell bottoms haha. Even, Barry Larkin evolved. He was a singles hitter when he 1st came up and then changed his game. That change turned him into a hall of fame player. Anyways, thanks for comment Q tips.

Do you have tips on how to stop hitting ground balls I have a bad habit of hitting hard grounders every time and when I try to hit a line Drive I usually pop it up to the infield

@JermaineCurtis55

You shouldn't put a time limit on it.. If you give up on a simple mental exercise, how do you think you will be able to be successful in baseball. All of this is a lifestyle. That is if you want to be successful.

@JermaineCurtis55
@JermaineCurtis55 2 года назад
Hey T, You Definitely want to continue hitting the gym this winter. This is where you get the gains for the season. However, you still want to workout in season so you don't get hurt. In the off-season, you lift to get stronger. In the season, you lift to maintain so you don't get hurt. With the weather like it is in the D.R., Definitely continue to lift.
@JermaineCurtis55

No, it's not too late. Just gotta work harder. Make baseball, and practicing, your lifestyle and not your hobby.

I would have to disagree. Ichiro and Pete Rose were never home run hitters. Pete Rose hit 160 over 24 years, which equates to 6 per year. Ichiro had 117 over 19 years, which equates to 6 per year.
@JermaineCurtis55
@JermaineCurtis55 2 года назад
True. But, can you remind me of when I brought up Ichiro and Pete Rose? Thanks for watching too, by the way.
@danedralin8064
@danedralin8064 2 года назад
@@JermaineCurtis55 you didnt bring them up sir. But the whole video was about how if you dont hit homeruns, no one will notice you. Rickey Henderson 297 home runs over 25 years. Equals to 11.88 a year. Being someone who can disrupt the pitcher makes a difference also. Homerun hitters do get the bigger contracts, because they bring the fans in.
@JermaineCurtis55
@JermaineCurtis55 2 года назад
Very true. But, I doubt you will see players like them (Ichiro, Pete Rose, Rickey Henderson) for awhile. The analytics have changed the game. With guys throwing harder, its harder to hit 3 singles to score 1 run. I can't remember the stats but they told us it's very hard to hit 3 sibkges in a row. This is why they have gone towards power hitting because home runs can change a ball game. Plus, 1 swing can get you a run.
@johnwilson6319
@johnwilson6319 2 года назад
That's a good point on how to build a team high avg low power guys are what they call table setters and that's a good thing a Rickey Henderson who's a base stealing threat BUT power guys clear the bases baby
