My Sophie is hard to catch, but once you do she loves being held and cuddled. Lulu, is the polar opposite. He will say hi if you are on the floor with him, but does not like any paws off the floor. He is at least polite about his displeasure. He will either play bite me - never tearing the skin - or give me his mad “Ralphie face” (the face Ralphie gives before beating up the bully in “A Christmas Story”). Once either of those start, I thank him for letting me hold him for as long as he has and put him back on the floor. He licks me. Sophie does not. I have to take my bunnies’ love how they want to give it to me and not how I want it. Prior to these 2, my Ozzy was bonded to me and was exactly like Lennon. Not every bunny is an Ozzy or a Lennon. You gotta find the ways your bunny loves you and appreciate it. 😊

I took Wyatt to my aunt's house yesterday. And my relatives held him and he behaved super well. No trying to run away. And no scratches whatsoever. But this video made me see I still can improve on how to hold my wabbit.

God bless you for your advice and great great tips - I have been patting Snuggles with my finger on his face like you demonstrated in one of your other videos to replicate the feeling of another rabbit licking his face and he loves it ☺️ It was so great you emphasized trust and also to stay low incase the bunny does manage to escape and jump. We had a bunny end up disabled jumping out of my daughters arms and it wasn't that high and very sad ☹️ sadly it was in the days we didn't know about free roaming or caring for bunnies properly and no doubt the bunny leapt out of her arms to try to escape being put back in the cage. Free roaming and learning to bond and trust your rabbit also helps because they start to love and trust you back and then other things like handling them become less stressful which is so necessary because even if a bunny doesn't like being picked up you still need to sometimes to clip their nails, clean their glands etc. How relaxed Lennon is in your arms is proof she trusts you and all the years of bonding and growing together and understanding each other. People also need to understand not all bunnies are the same. I am sooooo close to Snuggles, he misses me when I sleep and is all over me like a rash, he's super comfortable and relaxed with me but he doesn't like to be picked up but he loves floor cuddles and for me to lie down with him and bury my face in his fur or to sit beside him. He also isn't keen on leaving the house not even to hop around on the grass outside whereas other Bunnies love going outside and going places and doing things. They are all different. Bunnies have unique personalities and we must respect and consider their feelings and what they like or hate. It's not always because they are skiddish or scared sometimes they just know what they like or hate. Another bunny owner who thought they were a bunny expert after having a bunny a long time found out they weren't a bunny expert , they just knew their bunny really well and knew how to care for them and what worked so when they got a new bunny after that one passed away it was a total new learning experience for them. I try to remember that when I'm trying to help and educate others around me about bunny care (honestly Australia is sooooo backward when it comes to bunny care it's so frustrating and disappointing) there is only one Snuggles and what works with him might not work for another bunny and vice versa but it's so great to share ideas and tips with one another to try to enrich and improve the lives of bunnies. I love how you emphasized it works with Lennon and you know how to hold Lennon. There's only one Lennon and you are the one who knows her best and what works and what doesn't. Thank you and God bless you for sharing what you do and your experience and expertise with all of us. You have helped so many of us in so many ways and we all appreciate you so much and your videos. What a wonderful video, thank you for sharing!! It's a good reminder that having a sense of confidence and calm is the secret... I haven't mastered it yet myself 😅 I'm fully bonded with my 2 buns for over 4 years and I can pick them up but for some reason I always get anxious when I try to hold them. My husband can hold them, no problem. I copy the same technique, but it doesn't work for me until I have the right energy. So I'm a work in progress over here... 😅😅 Thanks again, much love 💕

Hi Lor and Len! i have to say, i got my first rabbit when i was around 8 or 9 and he was a flemish mix. almost completely white with some grey spots, i named him Winter (at the time i thought he was a girl) but Winter just stuck. he was in his cage quite often, downstairs where people wouldn’t go too often, drinking out of a hamster water bottle with the little ball, and having like cups and cups of pellets at one time. i started watching your channel and learned he shouldn’t be cage-bound and started giving him treats, hay, and romaine lettuce more often. sadly it was much too late and he passed away after probably around 3 years of having him, which devastated me. my mom brought home 2 bonded havana rabbits, which we named midnight and twilight and your account helped me raise them so much better than Winter, as i was an inexperienced child then and Winter deserved better. We bought twilight from petsmart and she had a head tilt, and i unfortunately was only able to give her an enjoyable life for 2 years. her sister midnight is still with me though, i am 17 now and she is my emotional support and my rock. im about to brush and trim her nails right now. i wanted to thank you for having such an amazing and informative account, because at the end of the day, bunnies are not for children who do not know what they are doing, they require so much more responsibility and care than that. if youve read this i want to thank you deeply for helping me provide for midnight, keep up the great work☺️

I recently brought home a bunny and I just wanted to thank you for all of the tips and advice that you have on your channel. I know a lot of the things you say are from either backed research or from personal preference. And I always appreciate when you mention what is your personal preference because Lenny is also unique as an individual bunny. Eloise is my bunny and I've been using your personal preferences, free roaming her to a certain area getting the air purifier, toys and just an overall open set up. And this bunny is so happy, I don't think there's a moment I walk into her room and she's not trying to binky. And that is all thanks to your guidance! I also use your method to bunny train her into her litter box, and in two weeks I'm able to trust her to use her litter box primarily. I still have an area with a CC (open top 5x5) set up for when she goes to bed because she is still a baby. But for most of the day she is free roaming and monitored. I too work at home! So these things work for us. Have a great day and keep doing what you are doing!

So cool. Just tried this with my bunny. So far so good. Not sure if you ever experienced this but I’ve been working with Harlie really consistently the last 2 weeks. She has this thing where she will circle me and, “nose,” me. Basically pushes her nose into my hand. She also likes when I do a scratching / massaging thing around her jawline and nose. Almost like I’m just opening and closing my hand with her face in my hand. During this, she will tip her paw and squeeze into my hand while I’m doing this. Sometimes she’s very demanding about it, but I have to say she has come a long way. I am almost ready to free roam her. She’s up to about 4 to 6 hours a day now. Just need to setup her area and fence off the rest of the room. She will have a nice 10 x 12 area. When we are home she can have the additional 10 x 10 area. So exciting.

Lorelei, thank you SO MUCH for providing a more detailed video of how to pick up and hold a bunny (you even explained how to calm them beforehand). This video is one of the few that has provided me with the best visual on how to do so. To add, I always like to research this particular topic with each pet I bring home. I did the same thing for my leopard geckos and now I'm very comfortable picking them up without worrying that they're so scared or stressed that their tails might break off. My goal is to accomplish the same thing with my bunny pal. In fact, I was able to pick her up on my own for the first time after watching this video. You're such a great bunny guru! Hello im 10 yrs old and im from poland My idolll!! I love ur vids so much that i literally watched almost all of them, i was meant to get a bunny 3 years ago ( 2020) i didnt know anything but my mom didnt agree with me getting a bunny so we got a hamster instead, we got him a small Cage and we didnt do research, after 2 years I got a guinea pig and I starter watching your Channel and I started to realise that I was actually hurting my animals ( i did research on my other hamsters ) and my mom didnt agree with me upgrading my guinea pig Cage but its better, I have 2 animals and because of you Im getting a bunny in march and Im gonna freeroam them because of u , my mom doesnt agree with that but Im gonna bunny proof my room as best as I can! If it werent for you, i would keep my bunny in a small Cage! Tysm for helping me out I love u sm !!!

My Neville jumps on my lap for treats and ... treats no problem. But the minute I pick him up for whatever reason he apparently thinks his time has come and he needs to now fight for his life. Trying to clip his nails is like a freakin wrestling match every time. Normally let's it happen eventually but he's so weird. It's not even that I am not confident or something, I need to pick my Rex up for her feet every day, he just for some reason equates being picked up to being boiled alive or something. Gamora never jumps on your lap but she normally let's me pick her up whenever (I need to put ointment on her back feet every day so that's why maybe she's just used to it). She is sooo gentle, too. And then there's Neville, where I think if he was a human he'd be the type to run straight into a wall until either it breaks or he ends up in the hospital with a concussion (not saying he doesn't already have one)

1:01 Ok but FIRE 🔥 I got that too when I hold Holden sometimes, and so long as I'm not holding him down flat on his back or doing something against his will, then leave him alone 😅 my rabbit just naturally doesn't like to be held a lot either, but when he's okay with it, I'm the only one who's allowed on his terms to do so. Well, when my dad was alive, he let him hold him too. But other than that, Holden's very picky. So maybe it also depends on the personality of your rabbit ? Idk 😅

I Promised Him No Cage Never Again. He's let's me pick him up to put him in the Stroller. We go everywhere, shopping, park, farmers market, Dunkin Donuts, by the Lake and shopping. We live by the Lake to many dogs in the neighborhood. I will keep Kirby 🐇 safe no matter what. He's My Life. He will jump on the kitchen table, couch and my bed at night. I would love to have buns of my own. I've met a pair of pet bunnies for the first time in my life not too long ago. My cousin was petsitting them for her friend for one weekend but wasn't sure on how to deal with the litter box. I used the basic knowledge you've been teaching in your videos and actually got them to use it (they've been going outside of it)! It's just one step, but I hope some day, I'd be able to adopt buns from a shelter in the future. ;w;/

Something that helped me was I would feed them they’re veggies on my lap. Some days they wouldn’t want to eat that way and then I’d put it in a food bowl but it seemed to speed up they’re cuddle comfort
